8 sachets Shock hope you get some movement soon!! I do worry about DS "holding in" and the effect that will have on potty training and his general health in future.

Well, movicol does usually work.... Hope it does anyway!

Anyone care to join me on myfitnesspal? I'm still stalking linked up with misree but it's pretty quiet on there. Help me motivate off some lard! (Username is my mn name)...

Can I join you with the really bloody naughty tantrumy toddlers? Grrrrr!
The past two weeks have been really trying. Really really trying.
He's just gone to sleep after another evening of meltdowns.
Fig - your mum sounds fab. I hope my dad's experience will be similar!
Northern - the cause of the dehydration apparently, was that his meds were too strong, now that he has no food inside him. He's only allowed to drink small quantities of broth for the next few weeks. They've reduced the meds now. He sounds fine now, - fine enough to go to their caravan for the weekend.
Faff - sorry to hear about your lo's pains. I hope she gets relief soon. I recommend a broth only diet.
Oh yes! Let's have a CP meet up!! I'm in! We can find a big net, winch the blighters up into the trees, and drink champagne in our log cabin patios. Or send em off with the dh's in their balance bikes, whilst we drink champagne in a jacuzzi. Or just leave 'em all at home so we can drink champagne at peace!
I'm in.
I am soooooo in!

Yep, missed out on a meet up with friends at CP, but it was when DS was little and none of them had children, so think it may not have been the best mix iyswim? Also they were doing the one in Cumbria, which whilst is a) beautiful and b) near where everyone lives and near 'home' is also c) the other end of the sodding country for me.

Sooo, somewhere in the midlands then?

Poor DP is stressed, his family are being weird, and treating his nice sister less favourably than the other siblings when she's going through a tough time.

God faffin, your poor DD Sad Have they discussed pain relief for her, to help as well as the movicol, etc? Really hope she gets sorted soon and that no trip to A&E is needed.

figster, your mum has lost 12 stone Shock? That's amazing, good for her- and it's clearly been transformational. Must have had a real effect on the rest of the family too, in terms of not being worried about the impact it was having on her health. Glad to hear your Dad continues to improve too Oi.

How're you and DS feeling now chip?

Major excitement today, the swatches of curtain material I ordered from Laura Ashley arrived- we're doing the living room this month and getting the curtains made and shelving put in, it will completely finish off the house Smile!

Oh, cross post! Good luck Oi! I know what you mean though, we're not allowed to use the 'Q word' quiet at work as inevitably we'll be deluged by the general public, national bodies and the media all wanting something now.

I was also thinking that we need new thread title- to start us off, and to reflect the tantrums, we could go with 'Twist and Shout'? Any more on a musical theme?

Sorry for lack of response last night, was exhausted.

Warning: TMI approaching

Poor DD still hasn't managed a big clear out, but now has some quite liquid poo dripping out of her at frequent intervals. Have had to put her in DS nappies so that she doesn't have to spend the whole time on the toilet. There's clearly still a blockage though because if she tries to push anything out she's still struggling. So I'm still packing the movicol into her and wondering if I'm doing the right thing. She's tired and grumpy. And she smells.

At the same time DS is obviously noticing the relative lack of attention he's getting so is being really naughty. It's all a bit grim here. Hope everyone else is having a good day. We were supposed to be going to DD's best friend's birthday party this afternoon, and I'm supposed to be leaving DD for three hours of dress rehearsals tomorrow afternoon. Doesn't look like any if that will be happening.

DS had his 2 and a bit year check today. He is perfect obviously. Except he would not get on the scales or be measured. Luckily he insists on getting on the scales at weight watchers so I know roughly how much he weighs Grin

Happy bday fix your cake did look fun!! DS has just stunk out the house with an obscene poo it's turning my stomach. He is still showing absolutely no interest in potty training Confused

Just back from soft play decided to take him for a bit as we have one literally five minutes from the house by car it's not a very good one but he enjoys it. Unfortunately it has a death slide which he climbs to the top of and then won't come down by himself so I have to go and rescue him and of course the quickest way down is the slide. I'm such a wuss it's horrible.

I have my digital photo frame on reminiscing about wonderful holidays are used to have pre-DC. When I look back at such times it does make me wonder if I genuinely do want another child. I'm starting to feel more optimistic that we can get back to doing such things again but another child completely rule that out. Very conflicted these days I wish I could just decide one way or another I'm sure that would be quite liberating experience.

Flowers for faffin and DD, hope she gets some relief very soon.... We are having a quiet weekend to get over all the recent activity. Possibly a quick trip to a local visiting funfair... Hmm

NorthernChinchilla · 10/05/2014 19:35

faffin, how's it going? Are you still in the hospital with DD? Really hope that she's got some relief now, it sounds horrendous for you all. Big ((hug)) for you both.

Didn't realise you were back to being a bit undecided ref no.2 figster- do you think that your DH's less-than-enthusiastic approach has had an effect on you? From the lack of 'aaaargh' I'm guessing he's been OK recently, and that working is helping sort him out.
Know exactly what you mean though- if we have no.2 we'll essentially spend all of our 30s significantly less well off and less able to do interesting/fun things.

Bugger about the BFN Oi, but whilst AF hasn't arrived there's still hope....

We've been down to the coast to a plant fair the NT organises to raise money to help conserve the White Cliffs. Met up with a colleague from work too.
DS has, using the colloquialism, had one on him today- swear to Bob that child's got a secret stash of speed. He had a one scoop of chocolate ice cream but it was enormous, and ended up wearing lots of it. Then leaping off all the picnic tables and attempting to snog, hug and bother make friends with every bloody canine in the vicinity whether the poor thing wanted it or not.
My friend grinned and said 'so this is why you come to work then' Wink Confused

By the way PTP, thinking of you, if you're lurking.

We got home from hospital at about 5. Could have stayed there but there was nothing being done there that couldn't be done at home so I asked to leave. She has fecal impaction and overflow diarrhoea. Nice. What I do at least have now though is a plan of how to manage her through this, a clinic appointment in 4-6 weeks so that we can manage it long term, and some magic spray from the SCBU to help sort her extremely sore bum out. I only had two hours sleep in a chair so very glad to be home. Will go to bed very soon. Can't believe I was so naive as to think we'd seen an end to all her problems Sad

Hmmm ... I had a letter while away (sent nearly a week ago) saying to go to GP and do repeat urine sample as inconclusive result. The one you do when you first see the midwife. But going away on Monday early until Thursday late for work so can't go to GP before Friday. Does that sound like an urgent thing? They'd ring if urgent no? Bit anxious now. Urine infection can be harmful for foetus I think. But I don't feel ill...

2 options mopsy, either pee in a pot first thing Monday and bribe DH to take it in for you, or do it when you get back. It's really common to get wee infections in pregnancy without symptoms and it isn't a big deal as long as you are well and get it checked out when you can.

Glad you're home faffin and really hope DD and you get a little rest Thanks and Brew.

Anyone know what's with the Bike icon, by the way?

Hope that you manage to get some rest at home Faffin, lots of Brew and sympathy from me. It's good that your DD has a follow up appointment in a few weeks and hopefully they can work out how not to get this bad again!

DS seems to have recovered from his ear infection but came up in a mystery rash on Friday so back to the doctors again and they think it was a reaction to the antibiotics. The rash has slowly gone down and I'm keeping a close eye on him for signs of the ear infection returning!

DS had a lot of temper tantrums on Friday so I decided to put him in his cot so we could take 5 minutes away from each other as I was losing patience. As I got to the kitchen I heard a huge bang and went to see what had happened and found DS walking out of the bedroom. Not sure how he escaped but he managed to bang his head and I think he was in a bit of shock as he didn't say a word and sat on my lap for an hour. Needless to say we have removed the side off of his cot and we are planning a trip to ikea for a toddler bed!

DS's key worker at nursery thinks he is now ready for potty training, so we are starting tomorrow! Wish us luck! We bought some big boy pants today and they look tiny! DS is very happy though as they've got footballs!

DrFunk sympathies on the night feeds! My friend mentioned that she never increased the night feeds above 4oz but carried on increasing the day time feeds and her 3 have slept through really early on, not sure whether that's worth trying to gradually reduce the amount of milk at night time and encourage more feeds in the daytime. I think we just struck lucky with DS!

Fingers crossed Oi, I think both times I've tested too early and had a negative and then tested a few days after AF due and got a positive result.

I think the Bike is because this week saw the start of the first ever female tour here in the UK (very near me actually), and the Giro includes stages in Ireland this year (North and South), AND the Le Tour starts in the UK this year. An awesome year for cycling fans!

Ah, that makes sense! Grumble, we wants the TARDIS back

Ooh, Chip, good luck vibes with the potty training! dS is now pretty much cracked it apart from the odd "oops mum" moment here and there (we're three weeks in now). dH had to be re-educated in how to look for needing the loo signals and regular taking-to-loo, he'd kind of forgotten in between DC. And a week in I had to show him some of the million potty-training MN threads to reassure him there were tons of other parents asking "should we bail out or keep going"....

I DIY'd instead of us going out as the wearher was pants. Kids watched Flight of The Navigator and some of Big, and I replaced the loo roll holder and towel ring, made some corner-bumpers for our annoying spiky oven hood, and cooked a sneaky roast. Is it just me or is the to-do list never-ending?
