Thanks everyone. It's amazing what a decent amount of sleep can do. Still a long way to go, but feeling much brighter now. She still needs to get the big lumps out, and still spent all day with stuff dripping out of her, but her skin is much better for having her bum out in the air for a couple of days and from using the spray. Bless her, she spent most of the day sat on the potty watching films or doing sticker books etc. but stayed in high spirits. We popped a nappy on her for a bit this afternoon so that she could have a run around in the garden with DS.

I hope the week flies by for you noth mopsy and figgy

Oooh new skunk! Exciting!

I have been away once for six days (conference abroad) and it was hard. Four days is going to suck. Is too long. Minimopsy will miss me too and Mr. Mopsy will have to do all the work so will be crap for him.

In more positive news, house is on market and we had first viewing today...

Oh wow figster that's awesome about the skunk! It's like my ILs, every time their dog dies (they get rescue ones that are often ill/elderly, it's not like they're bumping them off every 6 weeks) they swear they won't get another, and then.... Will you add a pic to your profile so we can see him?

Sorry to hear you and mopsy will be missing your DCs, hope the time flies for you.

Mopsy I'm off 6.30 tomorrow until late Wednesday night to Birmingham am on a course which needs evening home work done so no point coming home. Almost cried putting DS to bed won't see him up again until Thursday never been away from him that long.

In other news we drive to Reddich today to rehome a 1yr old albino skunk Shock said we wouldn't have another but miss our little girl. He's been kept outside so not litter trained Confused so some work to be done but we had to rescue him he was owned by an animal encounter person who kept him near other animals which terrified him doesn't look his eye sight v good either (not a surprise as albino). We're such suckers Grin

Two nights in and DS is sleeping well without the side on his cot...long may it continue!

DS has also done his first wee on the potty :) he had a wet nappy when he woke up and I put his pant on and a nappy on top as nursery suggested and I kept asking him if he needed a wee. I bribed him with a sticker to actually sit on the potty then put some cartoons on TV and read him a very noisy Fireman Sam book and heard a wee after a minute :) lots of praise and a sticker for doing a wee :) again fingers crossed!

Have fun hop, take some tech on silent to get you through...?

That's good news on the potty training aethel, seems to have been relatively painless, and good luck chip! We've got parents' eve next month, so will take a view with nursery if DS is ready yet.

Hope you got a good night's rest faffin, and hope it's made things seem a little brighter. Sounds like you're managing DD's issue extremely well, and it's a credit to you she's only had this one flare up. So glad to hear that she's got some pain relief stuff too.

Off into the garden now, some bits and bobs to plant out, seedlings to pot on, tying up to do. Oh, and Words to be had with DP about doing more around the house....

aethal you were on a mission!

oi got everything crossed for you for a huge BFP soon.

chip good luck with the bed transition.

The weather is taking its toll here! I'm on coffee number five, and about as many episodes of shouting/temper losing with DS. He needs to go outside. We've got a christening to go to in an hour. Full Catholic one. Wish me luck!

Ah, that makes sense! Grumble, we wants the TARDIS back

Ooh, Chip, good luck vibes with the potty training! dS is now pretty much cracked it apart from the odd "oops mum" moment here and there (we're three weeks in now). dH had to be re-educated in how to look for needing the loo signals and regular taking-to-loo, he'd kind of forgotten in between DC. And a week in I had to show him some of the million potty-training MN threads to reassure him there were tons of other parents asking "should we bail out or keep going"....

I DIY'd instead of us going out as the wearher was pants. Kids watched Flight of The Navigator and some of Big, and I replaced the loo roll holder and towel ring, made some corner-bumpers for our annoying spiky oven hood, and cooked a sneaky roast. Is it just me or is the to-do list never-ending?

I think the Bike is because this week saw the start of the first ever female tour here in the UK (very near me actually), and the Giro includes stages in Ireland this year (North and South), AND the Le Tour starts in the UK this year. An awesome year for cycling fans!

Hope that you manage to get some rest at home Faffin, lots of Brew and sympathy from me. It's good that your DD has a follow up appointment in a few weeks and hopefully they can work out how not to get this bad again!

DS seems to have recovered from his ear infection but came up in a mystery rash on Friday so back to the doctors again and they think it was a reaction to the antibiotics. The rash has slowly gone down and I'm keeping a close eye on him for signs of the ear infection returning!

DS had a lot of temper tantrums on Friday so I decided to put him in his cot so we could take 5 minutes away from each other as I was losing patience. As I got to the kitchen I heard a huge bang and went to see what had happened and found DS walking out of the bedroom. Not sure how he escaped but he managed to bang his head and I think he was in a bit of shock as he didn't say a word and sat on my lap for an hour. Needless to say we have removed the side off of his cot and we are planning a trip to ikea for a toddler bed!

DS's key worker at nursery thinks he is now ready for potty training, so we are starting tomorrow! Wish us luck! We bought some big boy pants today and they look tiny! DS is very happy though as they've got footballs!

DrFunk sympathies on the night feeds! My friend mentioned that she never increased the night feeds above 4oz but carried on increasing the day time feeds and her 3 have slept through really early on, not sure whether that's worth trying to gradually reduce the amount of milk at night time and encourage more feeds in the daytime. I think we just struck lucky with DS!

Fingers crossed Oi, I think both times I've tested too early and had a negative and then tested a few days after AF due and got a positive result.

2 options mopsy, either pee in a pot first thing Monday and bribe DH to take it in for you, or do it when you get back. It's really common to get wee infections in pregnancy without symptoms and it isn't a big deal as long as you are well and get it checked out when you can.

Glad you're home faffin and really hope DD and you get a little rest Thanks and Brew.

Anyone know what's with the Bike icon, by the way?

Hmmm ... I had a letter while away (sent nearly a week ago) saying to go to GP and do repeat urine sample as inconclusive result. The one you do when you first see the midwife. But going away on Monday early until Thursday late for work so can't go to GP before Friday. Does that sound like an urgent thing? They'd ring if urgent no? Bit anxious now. Urine infection can be harmful for foetus I think. But I don't feel ill...

We got home from hospital at about 5. Could have stayed there but there was nothing being done there that couldn't be done at home so I asked to leave. She has fecal impaction and overflow diarrhoea. Nice. What I do at least have now though is a plan of how to manage her through this, a clinic appointment in 4-6 weeks so that we can manage it long term, and some magic spray from the SCBU to help sort her extremely sore bum out. I only had two hours sleep in a chair so very glad to be home. Will go to bed very soon. Can't believe I was so naive as to think we'd seen an end to all her problems Sad

faffin, how's it going? Are you still in the hospital with DD? Really hope that she's got some relief now, it sounds horrendous for you all. Big ((hug)) for you both.

Didn't realise you were back to being a bit undecided ref no.2 figster- do you think that your DH's less-than-enthusiastic approach has had an effect on you? From the lack of 'aaaargh' I'm guessing he's been OK recently, and that working is helping sort him out.
Know exactly what you mean though- if we have no.2 we'll essentially spend all of our 30s significantly less well off and less able to do interesting/fun things.

Bugger about the BFN Oi, but whilst AF hasn't arrived there's still hope....

We've been down to the coast to a plant fair the NT organises to raise money to help conserve the White Cliffs. Met up with a colleague from work too.
DS has, using the colloquialism, had one on him today- swear to Bob that child's got a secret stash of speed. He had a one scoop of chocolate ice cream but it was enormous, and ended up wearing lots of it. Then leaping off all the picnic tables and attempting to snog, hug and bother make friends with every bloody canine in the vicinity whether the poor thing wanted it or not.
My friend grinned and said 'so this is why you come to work then' Wink Confused

By the way PTP, thinking of you, if you're lurking.

Happy bday fix your cake did look fun!! DS has just stunk out the house with an obscene poo it's turning my stomach. He is still showing absolutely no interest in potty training Confused

Just back from soft play decided to take him for a bit as we have one literally five minutes from the house by car it's not a very good one but he enjoys it. Unfortunately it has a death slide which he climbs to the top of and then won't come down by himself so I have to go and rescue him and of course the quickest way down is the slide. I'm such a wuss it's horrible.

I have my digital photo frame on reminiscing about wonderful holidays are used to have pre-DC. When I look back at such times it does make me wonder if I genuinely do want another child. I'm starting to feel more optimistic that we can get back to doing such things again but another child completely rule that out. Very conflicted these days I wish I could just decide one way or another I'm sure that would be quite liberating experience.
