at "worst enema".....

PartTimeProcrastinator · 30/04/2014 06:45

ah very exciting for you ladies with up coming scans and soon passing that 12 week mark.

Northern, I'm sorry but your egg story made me laugh. He sounds lovely and mischevious!

Off to the hospital this morning for DS to have some blood tests and a few other bits and pieces looked at and then I'm off to visit my parents for a few days. Going to talk to them to see how they would find having a couple of house guests for a few months while I get things sorted, also need to have a scope of job market down there. 'DP' and I are generally just ignoring each other at the moment, its going to take a while to sort moving so he is just going to have to put up with me for a while longer!

OiMissus · 30/04/2014 08:07

Good luck PTP.
Faff- why is it the wrong place? We share anything and everything here. I didn't see the documentary. We had our first experience of Boi getting out of bed repeatedly.... And some more... And again...
Yawn.
Then I did washing.
Yawn.
And tried to catch up on master chef.
Oh my life.
PTP - has your mum got room for more?! Wink

Figster · 30/04/2014 08:31

Failed mum of the year test this morning DS wouldn't come out of the house he wouldn't get in the car he then was throwing himself out of his car seat while smacking me in the head do really shouted at him and smacked the back of his hand. The neighbours must think I'm a screaming battering harpie Hmm I never hit him ever don't see how can teach him not to hit if I hit him. Gah!!

Oi your friends sound super Christian Blush I'm with you on the hypocrisy bus though didn't christen DS, refuse to go to a fantastic local attraction because it's run by creationists and teaches a creationist message but will take DS to church every Sunday to get him into school.

Late for work now with all DS fussing but am off to internal conference this afternoon might get home by 8 if I'm lucky so not gonna feel too bad.

mopsytop · 30/04/2014 09:52

Hope there's room at your parents PTP and a booming job market!

mopsytop · 30/04/2014 09:53

Figgy we all have moments like that. I shouted at Minimopsy on Sunday because she was banging the window really hard with a little wooden brick ... she started bawling. Felt v guilty.

PartTimeProcrastinator · 30/04/2014 11:23

DS was very well behaved and brave for blood tests, did not enjoy having to hold him still for it but at least its done now. Now just need to finish packing and hope the traffic is good!

Faffin · 30/04/2014 15:22

Well done to DS PTP. Hope the traffic is kind to you and that you have a good visit

Thanks oi. I hope BOi lets you get some sleep soon. This certainly seems to be the age where they like to test us in one way or another!

DC's are both at nursery today and DH is 'working' from home today, so the two of us went to sit in the sunshine and have fish and chips at the pub for lunch. How very decadent! I felt like I was bunking off school or something Smile. And bang went my good intentions to go for a run after finishing my housework

NorthernChinchilla · 30/04/2014 20:43

Oooh, lovely decadence faffin! It's wonderful when you're 'bunking off' in that way, legitimately naughty (not that I've got anything against being properly naughty mind you Wink).

Glad to hear you've got a plan sorted PTP - I take it you think your parents will be happy to have you? If I remember rightly, your work means you can do public and private sector, and there are a fair few jobs around in that sort of area.

The ignoring is hideous, but I suppose it could be worse. Do you think you'll be able to extract yourself financially, as I know he had 'issues' in that area? And brave boy at the hospital- hope they come back with a diagnosis/answer for you asap.

Was the christening today Oi, or is it at the weekend? Ignore everything but the party...and the baby too I suppose!

And we definitely have those moments figgy, I'm far more physical with DS than I expected, had to half throw him up the stairs this evening Confused

Starting to plan a lovely BH weekend, have found there's a nice country pub about an hour's walk, with a kids' play area...and there's a garden centre five minutes from us that I didn't know about that will need everything purchasing from exploring!

Aethelfleda · 30/04/2014 21:40

Wish us luck, oh thread, for tomorrow we are off to Centerparcs .... I'm sure it will be lovely but it's not a thingy I would normally choose. I will go with the flow and it will all be fine and overdraft-inducing....

Aethelfleda · 30/04/2014 21:42

Oh and hope you got to your parent's place ok PTP, and not stuck in the traffic...

OiMissus · 30/04/2014 23:12

Christening is on Sunday. (Not religious, or anything). Confused
Did I ever think I'd be a godmother to a Nevaeh?
(Will I be able to not smirk when the [non-religious-really- Methodist] vicar reads out her name?
Lord, strike me down!
Figgy, if I needed a (church) primary school, I could probably church-it myself. Just for a bit of a sing-song. I luffs a good hymn!
But the primaries are good here. It's just the secondaries that are dire. I'm hoping the situation will change in the next 8 years. (But I'll start saving, just in case).
Anyway, Sunday morning is for Diddikicks.
Bollocks! I've just realised. I can't believe we're going to miss cute coaches Football for a fake christening!!!

mopsytop · 01/05/2014 12:05

How'd you pronounce that name Oi? Never heard it. As far as I can tell godparent means sending presents on birthday/Christmas/taking interest in child (but no need to go overboard!)

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 01/05/2014 12:33

Neveah, Heaven spelt backwards. It's so classy.

Oi Have fun at the christening, there's always cake after. Primaries are good here too, secondaries... I'll have won the lottery by then, surely?

figgy don't fret. I shout at Ds far more than I would like. I've found toddler calm and how to talk so kids will listen really good. But when you're in a hurry in the morning it's so hard. I shouted at DS yesterday because he wouldn't put his bloody shoes or jumper on and then I wrestled him into the pushchair (minus said items). My neighbours must have childline/social services on speed dial. Toddlers are bloody hard.

Have fun at hell Centre Parcs aethal. isnt that where the swingers go?!

Hope you can stay with your mum PTP, sounds like a split is going to be for the best, big thread hugs for you.

Sticker chart for staying in bed has been a success so far. We're all benefiting from decent sleep. DS doesn't want to get up some mornings either, so the odd extra half hour is making me giddy. Running is going well, last night I did a pilates class (ow) and then a 45 min run. Makes up slightly for the vast quantity of biscuits I've eaten this week.

Work is.. I dunno. am in charge of all new promo materials and getting new website and lots of exciting things happening but... it's not what I want to do. Pondering re-training in a couple of years and doing my masters when DS is at school. But then that def means no more babies... And I'm OLD at the end of this month. Urgh.

mopsytop · 01/05/2014 12:56

What does 'old' mean hop?

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 01/05/2014 13:13

30

DrFunkesFamilyBandSolution · 01/05/2014 13:14

mopsy, old means over 30 Wink

Enjoy centrparcs athel!

Well done on the fitness hop, you put us all to shame!

Good luck ptp, hope you both adjust well to the change.

mopsytop · 01/05/2014 13:29

I was hoping Hop wasn't going to say 39. That makes me really old! Also, I started my PhD aged 30 and finished it with baby in tow, so it's doable hop! It was stressful, no doubt about it, but very much worth it!

mopsytop · 01/05/2014 13:29

30 I mean!

Figster · 01/05/2014 15:16

God I remember being a nightmare in my approach to the big 30 I had a bday month of activities (and lots of childish whinging about being THIRTY Grin) any nice plans?

Faffin · 01/05/2014 19:41

In that case surely Nehtaeh is a more appropriate name? Wink

About to dive into a bucket of wine. Terrible day with DD Sad. And you lot making me feel ancient because I'm approaching 37 hasn't helped!

NorthernChinchilla · 01/05/2014 20:27

Ah, 30 is easy! Weirdly, I can remember what we did for DP's 30th, but not for mine... these days middle aged is not til 55 and old is not til 85 by my reckoning, we've all got ages to go Grin!

hop, think of it this way, you'll be working for the next 40 years. Retirement age is going skywards, and unless you're a millionaire you'll have to work for quite some time..but you've only got another ten or so for the babies.

Wishing you loads of luck aethel, you won't need it as I bet anything you'll have a huge amount of fun with the DDs, and DS will love it too. Keep us posted on what you get up to!

See Oi, I'm so bloody atheist I can't even work out which day christenings are held!! Dab your eye with a large tissue when they read out the name, in an 'overcome with emotion at the whole event' kinda way, it will cover the snicker if you do it right Wink

It's been crisis central here, DP only just got to nursery in time to get DS at 7pm due to an actual kick-off at work that needed writing up, and one of my members of staff has gone awol with a personal crisis. Have managed to exchange texts at least.
Must crack on with dinner now, good thing I nibbled at one of DS's Easter eggs otherwise I'd be famished Blush

mopsytop · 01/05/2014 21:25

Don't worry faffin I'm only a few months behind you. Spring chickens we are Wink

Figster · 02/05/2014 08:10

Gah non working day and DS woke up at 6 came in our bed to generally kick and thrash around while asking for yoghurts (still called root roots god knows why!!). Am mega grumpy as is he needed that extra hour sleep.

Am off out tonight with some friends staying over with one of them too bet i will be flagging by 10 now, need my sleep these days.

Weekly shop and swimming before that though with a grumpy boy, not going to be fun!!

Faffin · 02/05/2014 12:33

Oh dear, DS went very pale and droopy mid-morning and then did a spectacular puke everywhere just after my dad and sister arrived for a visit. All plans for the day have been abandoned and now keeping everything crossed that we don't all get it. Poor little man was really upset that he'd made a mess on the floor Sad
