Thanks mopsy. What's tough is knowing that when he comes off the steroids he won't be able to walk anymore.

Sorry I didn't mean to bring the thread down. Anyone have any nice weekend plans?

mopsytop · 28/03/2014 11:20

You're not bringing the thread down seven, that's what it is for! It is a horribly tough time to go through and it is very good that you are talking about it. I wish I could offer some helpful advice but I can't really, but talk ALL YOU WANT to about it on here if it helps in any tiny way. Thinking about you...

OiMissus · 28/03/2014 11:46

Oh Seven, that is tough. Poor lamb. Hmm I don't know what to say. I admire your strength. It must be incredibly hard to deal with.

OiMissus · 28/03/2014 11:47

And you do not bring the thread down!! If we can offer some form of support/comfort in any way then it will make us feel more useful. X

Chipandspuds · 28/03/2014 14:24

Sending fertility vibes your way Oi! We took DS on a short break to Copenhagen and it was lovely (although a hit cold for my liking), the astronomy tower was brilliant and DS loved the zoo there!

Seven that's what we're here for x

mopsytop · 28/03/2014 16:35

I've joined another thread for women expecting in December and I FEEL SO GUILTY! I feel like I am betraying you guys! You are my first MN friends! Chip is on their too though, I feel like we are partners in crime!

mopsytop · 28/03/2014 16:36

there

Ugh what a horrible typo to make. I do know the difference, honestly!

Figster · 28/03/2014 17:35

2 BFPs' in a week on the thread hope u can make it 3 oi Wink

TheOnlySeven · 28/03/2014 18:18

This thread is the best though. I joined one with DD2 and again this time, though I hardly ever post because tbh the support just isn't there like it is here.

Thanks for letting me waffle on about DS, it just seems odd because in RL no one wants to talk to me about it. He's not starting them until Tuesday anyway, and the consultant phoned today to tell me he'll need gastric protective drugs too to prevent damage from the steroids.

Aethelfleda · 28/03/2014 18:37

I have something to announce.....

Just kidding! Grin

BobaFetaCheese · 28/03/2014 18:38

Shock I drop off fred for a few weeks and not one but two upduffed!

Mopsy, I find with my chemicals (four or possibly five, can't remember) that the line doesn't get darker at all over the days and is still light the day of/after af.

We're officially no longer ttc, DH won't get the snip though Hmm I don't 'want' an accident to happen (don't want big age gaps) but would be nice to have a surprise 'oh I'm six months gone and didn't realise' Grin

I joined the Aug 2013 group with DS2, it's on fb now and is a lovey mix of ladies (although quiet a few with less-than-lovely partners).

Seven, Sad has he been on them in the past? Fingers crossed he reacts well to them. Sending you lots of strength and hope Tuesday goes as well as it possibly can...are you doing anything nice this weekend?

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend/Mothers Day. DS1 made me a cake at nursery.

Aethelfleda · 28/03/2014 18:39

And seven you should know by now we're not "real life", we're part of the Matrix and so are in no way normal. There Is No Spoon, etc....

(Which is geek code for post all you like Thanks)

mopsytop · 28/03/2014 18:54

All the more reason to post here seven

TheOnlySeven · 28/03/2014 20:04

First time on them boba. No nice plans as DH works weekends, I'll go round to my mums with the DCs on one of the days though.

Tuesday should be fine as long as he takes them ok or can at least be bribed with sweets. We've been warned though that by about day 7 he'll be hyperactive, very hungry and basiclally on a high. Then by about day 7 during the off period he'll be on a comedown, which may be rather challenging interesting.

Is anyone doing anything nice on Mother's Day?

We are meeting a friend in botanical gardens then another friend for lunch/trip to the park while Mr.Mopsy gets the last bits of touch up painting done so we can put house on market this week (2 years later!). Tomorrow nothing planned as yet...

PartTimeProcrastinator · 29/03/2014 07:58

Congrats to Chip and Mopsy and big hugs Seven.

Taking DS to a birthday party this morning and then having a lazy afternoon. Just watched Up, it made me cry like a baby!

Aethelfleda · 29/03/2014 12:57

Aww.....Up...... Gets me every time!!

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 29/03/2014 17:15

Up, reduced me and DH to tears in the cinema. Love you it though.

Had a lovely day out at a national trust place, great for DS as had great play area and nice walks through the woods and by the coast. Also right next to airport so lots of plane spotting.

Seven hope they help, don't worry about unloading on to us, it's what we're here for x

Oi hope you get to join those traitors over on the Dec 14 thread.

mopsytop · 29/03/2014 17:38

I've watched Up three times and bawled every time!

Figster · 29/03/2014 18:16

Up should come with a health warning it's traumatic!!

We watching monsters university at the moment DS loving it!!

Mothers day tomorrow will be spent visiting my grans grave with my mum, going to the pub at some point to see friends and as dh not here to make a fuss of me on ds behalf I'll make a fuss of my mum instead

NorthernChinchilla · 29/03/2014 18:33

Yeah, Up is so upsetting, can't believe it's for kids.

Well, congratulations to mopsy and chip, that's amazing news Grin Fingers crossed it all goes to plan, and that you don't suffer too badly with the migranes mopsy. I think you're very brave going ahead with it all given what you're likely to suffer- we'll all be there for support.

And you drink that Martini, get home from Nordic lands and get shagging Oi!

seven, my Mum's been on steroids for about ten years now for the arthritis, and you do indeed have to take stuff to protect your stomach. However, as long as the dose isn't too high, the steroids aren't that bad, and they work amazingly. Doc's right about the steroid carb munchies though, they can be vicious! Main side effects for my Mum are just the skin-thining, so he may need moisturiser and to take care in the sun.

Are you having fun in Scotland figster? Hope the projectile vom from DS was a one off and not a bug?

We're up North for Mothering Sunday and it's DP's Dad's birthday. Sadly, my Mum's come down with some awful D&V thingy, so we're had to cancel all our plans and I've been nursing her. DP and I did get our night out last night though as his sis babysat- we were planning a night out with friends in the next town, but given Mum being ill we stayed local and just had a meal out... and then I had a text from my oldest friend (one who lives up here, we've been friends since we were 11) to say her Dad had had a heart attack and died that day Sad

So it's all gone a bit awry up here sadly, but at least it's a break from work...erm.... Confused

Fingers crossed Sunday goes well!

QueenofClean · 29/03/2014 19:17

We love Up in Chez Queen..Sky calls the old man Daddy Wink

Seven..I mirror what everyone else said. We are all ears here xx

Just a quick one..Darcie is 9 tomorrow..where has the time gone...'tis very scary :(

She had a fab party today tho with 4 of her closest friends. Both my girls are now tucked up in bed. So bath & bed for me now.

TheOnlySeven · 29/03/2014 19:45

Sorry to hear about your friends dad northern. Hope your mum is better soon.

queen it's scary where the time goes isn't it, can't believe DS is nearly 6. I think the best thing about having more DCs is you appreciate the baby stages more, I squish DD2 at every opportunity because it really isn't long before they're telling you to get off :o

OP posts:
mopsytop · 29/03/2014 21:13

Sorry your mum is unwell Northern.

Sounds like Darcie had a nice day Queen ...when we first came on this thread she was only just six eeek!

I've been having ferocious-had-to-go-to-bed-with-hot-water-bottle (lukewarm actually) cramps ... really bad ones. Never get them like this. Worried this pregnancy is not going to stick. I suppose if it doesn't it is because it wasn't viable and I must just be pragmatic. It is kind of a negative getting so many symptoms so early cos it makes you want to test early (and anyway, to be frank, I already knew. Your boobs don't go from a B to a D overnight for no reason) but then you have the knowledge. Whereas if you didn't test you'd just assume you were having a painful period. Anyway. Sorry. Just feeling bit anxious.

Aethelfleda · 29/03/2014 23:42

(((((Hug))))) mopsy. Try to get some rest xxx
