I have no magic fix for tantrums, I'm afraid. I ask, "do you want me to go away?" Then he says yes , then no, then thinks, and we can then begin to get to a point where we start to see we need each other.
Ah, am feeling the cooking dinner with leg-clingage Aethel!
Hop - FFS, I laughed out loud lots at your story!!
Figgy - Ali / Boi actually thought that one of his train engines was called Rubbish. ...I'd said "oh that's rubbish ". And then I'd over heard him playing, "hello, said Thomas, hello said Rubbish"...
Northern - the joy of the outside tap! Congratulations!
Hop, if I am your alibi for missing PIL, you'll support me with DH, right?
Mopsy - join me in my obsession, but if you get pg before me, well, we might just fall out! Wink
Figgy - Boi has refused his high chair since Xmas. He is too small, but it works fine without a booster.
I'm in Copenhagen again, Monday til tomorrow night. S'alright, but tomorrow's meeting will be tough. It'll be me vs 4 of them, on their territory. I'll be the witch. Oh the joy of the marketing manager. Everyone knows better. Everyone has an opinion. The opinions are based on feelings, not facts...
Bring it on. GrinConfusedGrinConfusedGrin

I have started replying to the 'GO AWAY MUMMY's with 'do you want me to leave?' The answer this morning was always a resounding 'no!' So I'll keep on with that. I was much more patient with the tantrums this morning. I've had a couple of days off work and some proper slobby alone time (knitting, watching box sets, that kind of thing) and I'm feeling a bit more recharged. So fingers crossed for the next few days. We're doing some kind of national trust place on Sat and then swimming on Sunday (after mother's day extra lie in, obv).

RE highchair. We have a Mama's and Papa's knockoff Tripp Trapp highchair that turns into an adjustable seat. DS has had the bar off for ages, so it's just a normal chair for him, but a bit higher. We also have a cheapy booster seat from amazon (£16) that straps to a normal chair, and has a little safety harness on if they will permit that, is good for travel.

I need to do some work before tomorrow, but am lacking in motivation. Must pull finger out.

Chipandspuds · 26/03/2014 18:09

Glad you've had a better day Hop!

Copenhagen sounds scary workwise Oi! Do you ever get anytime for sightseeing?

I have some good news but it feels way too early to share...it doesn't count as sharing if you all guess does it? Grin

mopsytop · 26/03/2014 18:20

ooooooooohhhhhh good news in a poas kind of way?

Chipandspuds · 26/03/2014 18:26

Well guessed Mopsy! :) I think the due date would be end of November so too early to tell people really but I'm bursting to share!!

mopsytop · 26/03/2014 18:43

yaaay congrats! that's great news!

Figster · 26/03/2014 20:10

Yay to chip!! Congrats Grin

DS has finally said his name tonight not D-Dawg or Boy which he currently uses but his actual NAME loud and clear my eyes Welled up I am not ashamed to admit. My little man is growing up Grin

mopsytop · 26/03/2014 20:29

I've had four very bad headaches (two were migraines really except I didn't actually get sick) and my boobs defs feel bigger... Hope it means I'm pregnant. But even if it does it has brought back with a vengeance memories of first 4 months of last pregnancy and I just feel like I can't cope with the headaches. Feeling so scared of going through that again. I'm still on my daily anti migraine meds but they're clearly not working v well...

Figster · 26/03/2014 20:40

When is AF due mopsy?

mopsytop · 26/03/2014 20:41

Sunday.

Chipandspuds · 26/03/2014 21:44

Thank you! :)

that's sweet Figgy, DS has just started talking and finally said 'Mum'. It's sort of bittersweet seeing them grow up so fast!

I will keep my fingers crossed Mopsy for you. I also get migraines and have to be physically sick to get rid of the migraine, it is horrible. It sounds as though you get them a lot more often though. Have you tried keeping a record of when you get them and any ideas on what's caused them so you can spot a pattern?

Aethelfleda · 26/03/2014 22:31

ohh, congrats chip!!

mopsytop · 27/03/2014 07:25

Chip all that has been done numerous times. No single trigger. I've been on anti-migraine meds for years (after finally finding a nice GP who actually took me seriously and didn't just tell me to go back on the pill, keeping headache diaries, trying several meds and finding one that worked). I have had migraines since about age 6 so I guess it is just constitutional. But they got totally out of hand in last pregnancy. During first four months was having killer migraines 5-6 days a week. It was so awful. This time before starting trying I went to see my lovely GP and he said it is absolutely fine to stay on my medication (last time was given bad advice to stop it) but if I AM pregnant it is not working. Sad Sad Sad

QueenofClean · 27/03/2014 10:23

Congrats Chip Grin

Mopsy fx for a BFP but hope you don't suffer with killer migraines like last time.

Aethel I was told that and now I am a parent governor Wink I find it very interesting and love being involved in my children's & their friends educations. Hopefully with my input we can carry on being an outstanding school.

mopsytop · 27/03/2014 11:06

Couldn't wait til Sunday ... spent £10 (TEN quid! Bloody rip off) on two first response tests and just poas. Faint second pink line... I thought bigger boobs and 4 bad headaches in a week too much like a coincidence. Now worried I'll have a chemical pregnancy though ...

Chipandspuds · 27/03/2014 13:56

That sounds horrible Mopsy but I'm glad you've at least got a sympathetic doctor. I may have been slightly crazy on hormones but I remember saying after I had DS that I'd rather give birth than have a migraine, so how you got through so many I don't know! Hoping you have good news soon though!

Aethel I say go for it, it might be fun to be a parent governor :)

Aethelfleda · 27/03/2014 16:43

oooh ,Mopsy, let's hope it clings on!

parent governorage may well happen at some point, though up until now I've restricted myself to PTA in that the commitment is more variable...

mopsytop · 27/03/2014 16:56

I think you should go for it aethel!

OiMissus · 27/03/2014 20:22

You lot make me sick with all your "fertility this, fertility that"...!!!
Ha ha ha!
Am of course only joking and very, very happy for you, chip and Mopsy! Congratulations!!! Brilliant news!
But please, do be pushing some fertility vibes this way. I'm due AF next week, but unfortunately not feeling pg at all.
I think, therefore, that I'll have a martini. Wine
Well done Aethel. It may be too much of a commitment but it's nice to be asked!
I received an email from my old uni whilst I was away, asking if I'd like to apply to be on some kind if executive board or something, due to the success I have enjoyed in my career. !!!! Get me! That working class girl from Oooop North has received some kind of recognition.
Of course, I have no time for such silliness, and no money (these things always want money, don't they?), but it's certainly nice to be asked. Smile
I didn't see any of Copenhagen at all this time, we stayed in a hotel not far from the airport, but it was really nice in the hotel, and very cold outside, so that suited me fine!

mopsytop · 27/03/2014 20:36

Enjoy your Martini Oi. I am indeed very fortunate to have got pregnant so quickly, although there's always a risk in testing so early. And my migraines have kicked in already so I'm feeling very scared and panicky about coping with a full time job and a two year old.

mopsytop · 27/03/2014 20:37

Ooooh and well done on being asked to join a big fancy board. That's very impressive. Nice work!

TheOnlySeven · 27/03/2014 21:56

Huge congrats chip and mopsy. Really hope you don't suffer too much though.

DH is fine now, just a virus but took a full week to recover from.

Busy here, very cold and wet street collection today. DS had an appointment at Addenbrookes yesterday, it was one I requested as he seems to tire more easily lately. His assessment score has deteriorated at his last two appointments :(, he's now about to start on steroids to slow down the decline in his muscles. Worried about side effects though, 10 days on and 10 days off for probably at least the next 8 years :(

OP posts:
mopsytop · 27/03/2014 22:04

That's tough seven I hope he takes to them ok.

Figster · 27/03/2014 22:29

Greetings from Scotland Grin visiting the family and friends!! DS fell asleep on plane which was perfect then projectile vommed all over himself in car 50 miles from home. My dad refused to stop as after 50 miles of single track road behind 3 huge transporters we'd just passed them and didn't want to get stuck behind them. So had to clean DS up get him out of his clothes while in transit Angry

Congrats mopsy!! Hope it sticks for you.

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 28/03/2014 08:22

Congrats Mopsy and Chip!
