...but you probably guessed that!

Mum n dad are at their caravan this weekend. DH is out boozing tomorrow night, so as I finish early on Fridays I think I'll take myself and the Boi to the caravan.
My life is a glamour-fest!
And I've just heard that my dad has been accepted to have a stomach bypass op! Whilst this is pretty scary, we hope that it will give him a new lease of life, and he can become more active. I know he's dying to play with Boi more, but he just isn't fit enough.
My sis had a gastric band op a few years ago.
I need to start young back to the gym! #itsinthegenes!!!!

OiMissus · 13/03/2014 20:40

(Going)!

Figster · 13/03/2014 20:56

Oi my mum had a gastric bypass Nov 12 she lot alot of weight beforehand for it and she is so happy And healthy now she goes to zumba, yoga, swims every day pretty much. She had the complication of an undiagnosed hernia which was perforated and practically killed her but if it hadnt been for that she would have no regrets at all.

Dentist was fine they only really looked in his mouth and counted his. Teeth but at least he sat in the chair and let. Them do it. He got a sticker for it too which he was proper chuffed with. I need a filling though so not too good for me Grin

OiMissus · 13/03/2014 21:06

We did the dentist a week or so ago too. they only counted his teeth. We'd been practising for days to open up wide!Grin

OiMissus · 13/03/2014 21:08

Thanks for the good news story about your mum. My dad has been going to "fat club" (that's what he calls it!) where he meets with others who have had the op, and those who want it. He's really positive about it.

NorthernChinchilla · 13/03/2014 21:31

I remember when your Mum got that perforated hernia figster, that was awful. And sadly, one of my close work colleagues, his Mum died suddenly at Xmas- he put her on the train back up North on Boxing Day and she was dead the following day, same thing Sad

Although this would out me to anyone who knows, I have an eye of Horus on my hip, and a design across my lower back that a friend did for me Oi. Not sure where I'd get the next one, thigh possibly. Would spend time researching who was decent round here though, and what to have.

Figster · 13/03/2014 21:52

Dont worry northern you're not on your own ive got a tatt too Grin butterfly on my back 1 december friday morning when i was 20, loved it planned on having another but never got round to it doubt i will now.

Dh is out i am watching Pitch perfect which is some sort of glee in college thing its very good ( for what it is).

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 14/03/2014 08:02

I plan on on getting a tattoo for my 30th, present to myself. But I'm a wimp so we'll see.

TheOnlySeven · 14/03/2014 09:16

Thanks oi :)

I need to have a filling replaced as I have a loose one apparently. She said it couldn't wait until September so I have an appointment next week. I know they don't usually do them in pregnancy but I don't know why, any ideas?

I have a tattoo, a heart on my back, done on my 18th. Always planned to have my DCs names written around it but doubt I'll get round to it or be able to justify the money.

I have a rose surrounded by a tribal design on my lower back with Darcie's name around the top of the rose & her DOB around the bottom. On my right wrist I have Sky's name with a rainbow the moon & stars underneath and her DOB underneath that.

I'd love butterflies and hearts on the back of my neck and flowers on my foot going up towards my ankle. It's the cost involved tho!

TheOnlySeven · 14/03/2014 18:13

Good to see you queen, how are things now?

Thanks so much for sponsoring DH oi, and putting it on fb means a lot too :)

Thanks Seven I'm getting there. Had a massive clean today so have days still where my OCD really goes Into overdrive but once it is done I feel so much better. Also trying to put some focus into being a parent governor so doing lots at the school which is great knowing I'm helping with my girls education by helping the school be the outstanding place they are and help make it more and more outstanding Grin

Hope your well.

NorthernChinchilla · 14/03/2014 20:01

Ah, glad to see a Grin in your post Queenie, that must mean you're getting a bit better! Glad to hear the parent governor bit is going well too. I may get a stylised flower for my next tattoo, given my love of gardening! It really doesn't hurt that much hop, just get is somewhere fleshy- like belly or bum- rather than on bone, like ankle. Otherwise it just feels like a constant scratch.

If I remember rightly, it was something to do with the mercury in the fillings seven, as it can leak? I think however they use something different for them now, so you should be OK...but I'll leave it to the all-knowing aethel to come back on that one Smile

Can't believe it's the weekend- DS has got his first birthday party tomorrow, which will also be his first trip to soft play. When we get home, my DF, DSM, and DSis/DBro will be turning up and then staying over. Not got a clue what to cook, and we need to do the shopping as well Confused!!

Aethelfleda · 14/03/2014 20:25

I know almost nuffink about teeth!... But I do know that pregnant laydeez get more gum swelling (gingivitis) and are more likely to have issues with bacterial infection post extractions/work, so most dental people like a minimal-disturbance approach during pregnancies. So it's probably that, seven.

Going to see a friend's squishy newborn DD tomorrow: it's a good job I don't get broody any longer honest.

Hope everyone has nice plans for the weekend sun!

Aethelfleda · 14/03/2014 20:26

Ps cook a chilli. It's easy, youcan serve it with sour cream and cheese and tortilla wraps. Eeeeveryone likes chilli (almost).

TheOnlySeven · 14/03/2014 20:42

Thanks, nothing necessarily too much to worry about then, not that it can be avoided. I've been really paranoid about eating anything with that side since she said it was loose.

I agree about chilli, easy and tasty. I'd also usually recommend a big bolognese but DH carb-loading makes me sick of the sight of pasta. We went months without eating it after last years marathon, they recommend huge quantities of carbs at every meal for the entire week before Hmm

Today is a good day for us, the govt have announced plans to fast-track the use of unlicensed drugs for people with serious conditions. There's a drug currently in clinical trials which if successful will help with DS condition, not a cure but a massive improvement, we have all our hopes pinned on it. This means once the trial finishes if it's proven safe DS will in theory have access to it rather than waiting another decade for further trials before it becomes licensed.

NorthernChinchilla · 14/03/2014 22:44

Unfortunately the one food in the whole world I can't stomach is red kidney beans! DP does make chilli on a fairly regular basis, and I have to spend ten minutes picking out "the beans of evil" afterwards. We're going to do a roast chicken and jackets, will get some Gu puds for afters, and may do gnocchi for starter.

Jealous of newborn squeezes, soooo jealous!

That's marvellous seven, it'll be great if it does help your DS out. My family work in the area of drugs licensing, so I really know how long and painful it is to get something licensed, and how little is actually successful (ie is considered efficacious enough on a mass basis).

Chipandspuds · 15/03/2014 14:01

Hello everyone,

That sounds like excellent news Seven!

Northern I'd vote for spaghetti bolognese as I don't know anybody who doesn't enjoy that and it's easy to cook for lots of people.

We finally have a quiet weekend so I'm lazing around on MN whilst DS has a nap :) No news to report here...all very boring! Planning to watch a DVD this evening, I may have to persuade DH to go out and buy some ice-cream!

TheOnlySeven · 15/03/2014 18:09

Huge thanks to aethel.

I really don't expect any of you to sponsor DH, and it means a lot to me as I've never met any of you. If anyone else wants to sponsor him who isn't on my fb let me know and I'll post a link to it.

You can be honest here aethel, not even a little tempted?

Lovely sunny day here, back from the park now cooking burgers for lunch. Really must tidy up this afternoon as much as I want to be in the garden.

Lovely weather here!! Dh talking about when we have another child.....eek

We all walked into town today DS walked whole way as a reward he has yet another octonaut toy, dh is a natural history/nature nut so DS has picked a good new obsession as dh indulging him with related toys and fish facts. He has a toy narwhal from America coming.

We've played golf in the garden, been to the park and it's sausages for tea.....just need to go back to work tomorrow Hmm

NorthernChinchilla · 16/03/2014 19:44

Gorgeous weather here too. Had a good weekend with the family- ended up just roasting a chicken. Today we did a cooked breakfast for seven- gulp- and then went for a walk up to the Heath. I then got to spend three hours planting out in the garden, bliss...though my back doesn't think so!

DS then pooped in the bath, just to round off a perfect weekend Wink

Soooooooo........... no. 4 then aethel? Grin
