Hop I feel your pain. Currently listening to dh and one of his siblings talking. Yawn. It's a bit early to retire I think. ...

I remember walking to the scan for dd suddenly convinced there were 2 or 3 in there. We were this colour Envy walking down the corridor. And like this Grin when there was just the one heartbeat.

I also know nothing about Opera, but have started going to the cinema screenings for the ballet and theatre (Warhorse next) and I'm sure there were some Operas listed. I would assume the more popular ones as an Intro (£15ish for the last one and it included interviews with the lead ballerinas and director/producer)

Back to work on Saturday. Boooooo I'm actually looking forward to it

OiMissus · 18/02/2014 22:00

Warhorse is brilliant!
Saw it last year.
I also am a fan of quite a few musicals.
Les mis is the favourite - and the film was excellent.
I laughed all the way through South Pacific (is that the Vietnam one with the helicopter?), my friend loved it but I thought it was tripe. There is no right and wrong with these things, just down to personal taste.

mopsytop · 18/02/2014 22:20

Yeah, I loved Warhorse. I love West Side Story but that's about it for musicals. Don't really enjoy them. Mad for ballet and opera when I can afford it (not often) or get babysitting (never... haven't been to either a ballet or an opera since I was pregnant with Minimopsy). Luckily I can listen to great recordings as often as I like! The next thing we have booked to see is Maxim Vengerov at Festival Hall in November. Can't wait. Was supposed to see him at the proms a few years ago but he had that shoulder injury and had to pull out and then was mainly conducting. But he is playing again now. I've been wanting to see him live for years so I can't wait! Only eight or nine months to go Smile

mopsytop · 19/02/2014 13:08

Oops. Killed the thread. Sorry [ Blush

Figster · 19/02/2014 13:16

I think it must be that we feel intimidated by how cultured you are mopsy Grin

My contribution for the day....... Greetings from Cardiff, didn't see DS this morning as he was still asleep when I left, I've eaten my lunch already Hmm, oh and don't think will buy another skunk yet, little matter of not having £550 to pay out on one.

mopsytop · 19/02/2014 13:22

I have been teaching all day and no food so far. Starving. One more class then I can go get lunch. I stayed over last night to avoid long commute and get a long work day in. Got loads done but miss seeing Mr. Mopsy and Minimopsy.

TheOnlySeven · 19/02/2014 15:57

Only one. Been put back by a fortnight so I'm only 10 weeks.

Faffin · 19/02/2014 17:31

Phew!

Aethelfleda · 19/02/2014 18:34

Bleugh. Thanks DS Envy :(. Very bad timing, meant to be taking DCs to see old pre-move friends tomorrow and meant to be out tomorrow pm and working Friday. Illness is Not Allowed At This Time. Bleurgh.

And another for you seven!

NorthernChinchilla · 19/02/2014 18:42

Grin seven

Poor you aethel, get well soon!

TheOnlySeven · 19/02/2014 19:06

Sorry aethel

Thanks ladies, must say I'm very relieved and not even slightly disappointed, doesn't say much for the state of my abdominal muscles though.

mopsytop · 19/02/2014 20:15

Phew seven!

Oh no aethel booooo Sad

Rotten commute today. Took nearly two hrs to get home, of which 45 minutes FORTY FIVE were spent leaving the uni, a drive of a few hundred metres which normally takes 2 minutes. Once I'd left the car park and realised there was a jam I couldn't go back so just had to sit there. Only just home.

OiMissus · 19/02/2014 20:42

Who nicked my post?!

CaffeinatedKitten · 20/02/2014 13:35
Brew

Surfing the sofa waiting for the curling to start. I always forget how much I fancy Jonathan Edwards >_

Faffin · 20/02/2014 14:08

Hmm, we may be about to do battle with the pox again. Two weeks after DD got them DS now has some spots...as foretold by kitten. Will wait and see how things develop, he has very sore dry skin so sometimes has spots anyway - nursery have called me on a couple of occasions in the past warning of spots which then came to nothing.

hinkyhonk · 20/02/2014 18:12

Today I have mostly shrieked. Our fucking nanny has had the nice children behaviour this week; I've just had vileness all day. Luckily I'm out for dinner so I don't have to do bathtime. Some days I do wonder whether I'm cut out for this mother shit.

mopsytop · 20/02/2014 19:21

Bummer faffin Sad Sad Sad

I think everyone feels like that at one stage or another hinky !!

Figster · 20/02/2014 20:28

Tonight DS threw such a wobbly he's gone to bed with just a vest on, didn't brush his teeth and he ended up biting his hand and then sticking his foot in his mouth and biting that Angry tantrums are getting ridiculous!!

Aethelfleda · 20/02/2014 23:04

Sympathy for bad days and toddler tantrums, and a large for smug nannies....

I am fortunately (realtively) intact again. Phew.

CaffeinatedKitten · 20/02/2014 23:17

Having sleep issues so bought the Small two new pairs of baby leggings. Chose diggers and a snazzy frog pair this time. Got to love footless tights for small children:o

Faffin · 21/02/2014 08:02

Yep, DS definitely has chicken pox. Poor little chap is in for a whole lot of discomfort though because the worst ones so far are on and around his boy bits Sad. Oh well, at least it'll be over and done with for us after this!

Pleased to hear you're feeling better aethel

TheOnlySeven · 21/02/2014 09:47

Sorry to hear about DS faffin, though like you say at least it'll be over with, and DS won't even remember it.

Glad you're well again aethel

I'm feeling rough, full of cold, sinus headache and sore throat. The DCs are all congested too. Having a lazy day, DS is playing a Lego app, DD1 is watching chuggington and DD2 is napping on my chest.

CaffeinatedKitten · 21/02/2014 10:57

Small was exactly the same when he had them faffin I used copious amounts of aqueous calamine cream at nappy change, and changed him frequently. Hope he's mostly oblivious:)

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 21/02/2014 20:39

Did you get some sleep eventually kitten?

Sorry you're feeling rough seven

Oh no, more pox! Hope your DS feels better soon faffin and doesn't end up too spotty.

I was meant to be going round to see bennybenbear this afternoon, but put DS down for a nap on the sofa and didn't see the harm in snuggling up next to him for a little bit. Two hours later and we have snoozed through the play date, an DH putting up shelves an fixing a blin upstairs. Think we really needed the sleep!

Need tea and sympathy this evening. I was running round the garden with DS, we have a big patio/compressed concrete patio thingy area and a winter of leaves and sludge have left bits of it really slippy. After reminding DS a billion times to be careful because it was slippy, I went to kick a football and fell flat on my arse. I must have put my hand down because I've jarred my arm, shoulder, neck and back. I'm in so much pain. Got full range of movement so don't think I've broken anything except my pride but oh god, it really hurts. DS, bless him, came rushing over very concerned 'you awright mummy?' 'mummy need get up, I halp' 'mummy fell on bum, mummy got hurty?'. I had to get him to go and shout for DH and he ended up banging on the conservatory pointing at me and shouting 'mummy felled over! On bum! Daddy! Mummy on bum!' It would have been hilarious if I wasn't convinced I'd broken myself. Bless DS though, he was really concerned and annoyed that he couldn't lift me off the ground even though he's 'werry stwong'

Aethelfleda · 21/02/2014 22:08

Oh no hop i'm not smiling even slightly at your very amusing description. It's not funny at all. Snurk.
Hope you're a bit less sore...

We're watching Enemy Of The World (recently found old Dr Who missing adventure). Frazer Hines was rather dishy back in the 60s!!....
