Good luck pr today at work.
And Eliza with the move. Hope you labelled the wine box with red letters so you can open that first.
Sophia, are your girls arriving today? If yes, enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.

We are off carpet shopping. Than getting a library card for o.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 17/02/2014 08:41

Yes yes yes. The first plane from Brum arrived on time so here's hoping they don't get delayed.

StuntNun · 17/02/2014 08:43

J puked over and over again between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. I have a stack of bedding and towels to wash. He now seems perfectly fine and has had some buttered toast and water. Shock How do they bounce back so quickly? Poor DH has gone to work on five hours sleep. Still at least he doesn't have to wash pukey sheets etc.

J has discovered the joys of jigsaws (the cut out type where you just have to put each picture in its hole) and managed to put his first two Duplo bricks together this morning. He also loves electronic beepy toys and is just starting to get the hang of shape sorters. What toys are the other quiche babies into at the moment?

Oh and books, J is obsessed with books. His favourite is Happy Dog, Sad Dog by Sam Lloyd. Every time I read a book to him he immediately hands me another one and says Ta which apparently means Read me a other book mummy.

I just get hit with the book. That means read it again. Hmm

He's surprisingly chirpy for a baby that was up multiple times in the night, covered in a rash, with a mummy who hasn't slept a single fucking sausage. Hmm

Glad I'm off work! I think I got enough sleep while I was ill, clearly my body didn't need any more last night, as even the small bits where he did sleep - I DIDN'T!!

Gah.

Currently dancing to the hokey cokey. Long day ahead.

Eliza best of luck! I love moving house. Not the actual moving. Just the newness Grin.

Sophia Yay for having all your babies back!

PR Sock it to the biatch! Grin

I think I need a shower and red bull.

PurplePidjin · 17/02/2014 09:17

good luck problem and Eliza

fx Sophia

r likes books, dolly push button noisy toys and things to wear qs a hat Hmm

ditsygal · 17/02/2014 10:02

F has woken with a cold again - grrr. I feel like he has been ill with colds or teething fevers ever since christmas - we seem to get a few days respite inbetween and then he falls ill again (and his sleep goes to pot one again!)
stunt poor you, that sounds like a horrible night.

Eliza good luck with the move! I love a new house, although the actual moving can be stressful.

sophia enjoy your girls arriving! hope the flight is on time

applepieinthesky · 17/02/2014 10:24

good luck pr

Hope the move goes well eliza

I have a limited amount of time to cook when I get in from work. I get in just before 6pm and DP comes home during his break for an hour. My mum drops C back at the same time so we end up having meals I can whip up quickly but aren't very nutritious. I need a slow cooker don't I? Tell me which one you have and what you cook in it?

applepieinthesky · 17/02/2014 10:30

pretty please

PetiteRaleuse · 17/02/2014 10:33

stunt LO likes her aquadoodle, duplo, her shopping bag and anything that DD1 is playing with. Also likes her noisy things. And fridge magnets. Hours of fun with fridge magnets.

PetiteRaleuse · 17/02/2014 10:34

Yes you do need a slow cooker apple but i don't have one so can't recommend. There are some great blogs where you prepare 40 meals in an afternoon and shoving the portions in the freezer. I want a slow cooker just to be able to do that!

PurplePidjin · 17/02/2014 10:35

apple stew, dal, roast joint of meat, whole chicken, ragu...

StuntNun · 17/02/2014 10:39

Apple this 30-minute cook book is really good. I have two slow cookers and I would recommend getting one that doesn't get hot on the outside. I have a Crock Pot 6.5 litre one which is big enough to do a roast chicken in but it's metal on the outside so it gets hot. I have a really old 3.5 litre one which is only big enough for small recipes such a one meal (I like to make loads then freeze some for lunches later on) but it doesn't get hot on the outside. You can cook a whole chicken in it, I've even done them from frozen. Stews, casseroles, soups, bolognese are all easy but care is needed as they can end up watery although there are a number of ways around that. Large joints of meat such as shoulder of pork become very tender. There's a brilliant FB group called Slow Cooked Wonders which has hundreds of recipes and you can get advice quickly as well. And ham in Coca-Cola is the BIZ!

I have no reasonable excuse to buy one but I think I might anyway.

YellowWellies · 17/02/2014 11:53

Apple I just got a Tesco own brand slow cooker for £12 - it doesn't get especially warm on the outside and cooks enough for 6+ portions which is more than we need so I think you can pick them up cheaply. I haven't used it in ages being at home most days but thanks for the reminder - I should make more use of it!

Lily311 · 17/02/2014 12:28

I have a Morphy Richard one, I think it was half price for £15. Mine is a 3,5 l.

ValiumQueen · 17/02/2014 13:17

I love my slow cooker. I cook whole chickens and huge lumps of beef and gammon. And stews. Best not to use good quality meat and chicken breasts as they tend to dry out. Better using brisket and chicken thighs. Mince is great. Just put a lot less liquid in. With joints I just wash them and bung them in. Porridge is ace done overnight and you can do other fab puds apparently.

PurplePidjin · 17/02/2014 13:20

i do tapioca in coconut milk for r

applepieinthesky · 17/02/2014 13:22

I'm wondering whether to get the 3.5L or the 6.5L and freeze the leftovers. There are some days when I can't be bothered to cook at all and we end up spending a fortune on takeaways so it would be great if I could just take something out of the freezer. It's my day off tomorrow so will go and get one from Argos or Tesco.

ValiumQueen · 17/02/2014 13:28

How do you solve a problem like our PR

Was that an auto correct PP or a Freudian slip?

PetiteRaleuse · 17/02/2014 13:30

:o I saw that :)

Gorgeous spring day here. First crocus out and, less exciting, the spiders are waking up.

PetiteRaleuse · 17/02/2014 13:57

And now I can't stop singing sound of music songs. Nice change from the sodding Countdown theme.

Doe, a deer, a female deer.....

Ooh kids love Sound of Music. Pretty much all musicals actually. Pass get your wimple out and your dancing shoes on - there's your singsong inspiration.

PurplePidjin · 17/02/2014 13:58

my bastarding twatface phone sorry Sad

Lily311 · 17/02/2014 14:15

Are you ok pidj?

I love the sound of music. I need to watch it again.

Ok, went to get a library card for O and I asked them about nursery rhymes. They have none. But suggested I set up one. I want to but I can't sing. Any ideas? Asked at the local Facebook group, there is a need for one but no one is coming forward to lead it.
