Hello ladies, can you believe we will be entering into a 6th year of this thread this year?

Thanks Indith, pretty much the same info that I had found online. Am off to the Drs later see what he says. But theoretically If I took it after he has his last feed of the night then hopefully he does a 7hr stretch of sleep which he has been doing???? I dont know or feed him then do a pump and dump. Bloody school!

Vagolajahooli · 30/01/2014 10:41

Bluergh! I've got the boys cold. I was so shattered yesterday I couldn't even take them to school. Or be bothered to sort out another family close by to take them. So we all stayed home. But got them to school today yay. I'm the lunch supervision for DS2's class today which will get me out which is nice.

kayz I'm glad she has gone back to normal. Also sounds like you have a good GP there. I spoke to soon about the weather it's fricking freezing here now!

Rubes I sometimes worry I've gone over board. But definitely not love, as Arti says, very out of order on so many levels. I have a friend whose daughter has OCD it's a very serious, quite debilitating condition.

Right time to get to school.

Oh and Jam sorry about the freeloaders, how old is DS3 now, could he also poss have the creatures, would the teeny amount that gets through be helpful? Or do bubs not get worms.

OP posts:
Indith · 30/01/2014 11:39

If he normally does a good long stretch I'd take yours after his last feed. The risk is minimal if at all, milk samples tested have not had detectable amounts in, they just can't say that it definitely doesn't go through because it wouldn't be ethical to feed s load of women the medicine and test their milk for a large enough study to be conclusive.

I suppose for ds3 you will have to be really careful and do 6 weeks hygiene measures. No bath sharing, single wipe and throw away when changing him bum, wash your hands before you change him as well as after. If he had picked them up then by the end of 6 weeks his worms will have died so you just need to make sure he doesn't get more along the way. wash his hands before and after a change too in case he reaches down and touches his own bum.

JamInMyWellies · 30/01/2014 11:56

Just had a long chat with GP. Surprisingly helpful Shock his information is the same as yours Indith and what I have found. He feels that the amount passed through to DS3 would be so minimal that it would be ok.

So he has given me a script and left it up to me whether to take it. So will take it after his last feed and hope he does a big chunk of sleep again tonight.

Feel better vag. Have a hot toddy.

JustRubes · 30/01/2014 17:55

Good to hear some GPs out there are useful Jam. (Incl Mr JJ)
Agree re mine. But can't be arsed to formalise it. Going to switch the GP on my current case and go to the one I like in the same surgery and fill out the form answering the reasons for the switch. It will filter back. Stupid cow.
Anyway amongst other things, I'm shattered. I'm sure I had more to say, but trying to get kids sorted as dh at work tonight. They're already bathed, fed and having milk. They think it's 7pm in 5 mins Grin well ds decided to get up at 530 this morn and ask dh to build paper aeroplanes Hmm quite shocking and unlike him. Suffice to say clocks have sprung forward

JustRubes · 30/01/2014 17:58

Oh and we have a car in East Sussex that needs collecting and paying lots for sorting, plus a leak that needs fixing and a pump in Oxfordshire that need collecting. All of which I can't do any of. Feel quite useless, and dh forgot he was working tonight. Not helpful.

beans37 · 30/01/2014 18:23

Oh Jam, that's not so fun with the old worm issues. Mine have probably got it and I haven't noticed!

Rubes, I love your early bedding of kids. Mine think they are having a late night tonight with two episodes of Thundercats as they're only normally allowed one. But this one will be over in 10mins and then its 6.30 and bed. Yeeehah! Thankfully they can't read the time yet. DD3 already in bed. Zonked.

My Mum came up today, which was v nice. I do wish she lived a bit nearer.

Man this weather is rank. I'm so over the rain and cold. And I left the lid off the outside box of kindling and its soaked. DH not going to be happy!! Ho him. He's at a wine tasting tonight, lucky thing. Men don't know how good they've got it, eh? I'm having my own wine tasting with a bit of Cabernet Sauvignon. Yum.

Ooh ooh, watched my first Game of Thrones last night. HOW ADDICTIVE? It's brilliant!

JustRubes · 30/01/2014 19:21

Love that beans. Wish ds hadn't learnt what 7 o'clock looks like. But actually he doesn't really pay attention. My two are addicted to Pocoyo and Charlie & Lola on Net Flicks. Ds can be sneaky and start another episode if in not paying attention so I have to hide the controller. I must say they are easier when dh not home. Guess they never get much time with him, so if he's home in time he oversees their teeth and ds's homework but it's a struggle to get them upstairs as they think it's party time. Shame though as they just want his attention. They are both out cold now. Nothing exciting about me!
Am joining you beans and sampling
-A - glass of wine from my Ocado delivery. By the way Vag Ocado highlighted some "new items" they're stocking now including milo, tim tams, mint slice, chicken n a biscuit, promite loads of Aussie stuff! Quite thrilled!

beans37 · 30/01/2014 21:35

Oh dear. screaming baby for no apparent reason. she's not hungry and DH out. he's usually my voice of reason. and helper!

JamInMyWellies · 30/01/2014 21:47

pop her on the boob. DS3 has spent all night chewing the end of my nip.

Indith · 31/01/2014 02:29

Tim tams? do they have the dark ones?

beans37 · 31/01/2014 07:46

She wasn't interested, Jam. She hardly had any milk at 10.30 then didn't want anything til 6.15am. But she seems quite happy this morning, but got a horrid cough and snot, so guess she was just feeling shit.

DH off to India with work next week. Sob!

JamInMyWellies · 31/01/2014 08:17

Lunch next wk then Beans, Tuesday?

HV came round yesterday. The chubster has gained 1lb in a wk. Also I appear to have the holy grail a fab health visitor!!

JamInMyWellies · 31/01/2014 08:18

Oh and. I never understood the Tim Tams obsession. They are just penguins?

JamInMyWellies · 31/01/2014 08:19

Rubes does the early bedding make them wake earlier?

JustRubes · 31/01/2014 09:15

They are yum but I'm not a huge biscuit fan so I am more excited about Arnotts chicken shapes Grin Not sure what penguins are?
Doesn't make dd get up earlier. Only would ds if he didn't have any sleep debt but yesterday he was up at 530 which is weird as 7am normal for him and this morning was 645 after bed at 620 so I'll take that. He was shattered. Dd gets woken up by me usually around 730.

JustRubes · 31/01/2014 11:08

Roomba has been out if action due to replacement battery needed. He's back. Roomba and Nespresso are without a doubt the two finest household purchases I have ever made.
That is all.

Vagolajahooli · 31/01/2014 13:44

Jam are you trying to start something. They are sooooo not a penguin. A penguin is an inferior product. IIt's like trying to claim an iceland frozen pizza is just like going to pizza express.

You've also clearly never had a timtam orgasm.

HI girls

Just nipped on to send good wishes to Lady - I know your dear FIL's funeral was today. I hope it went as well as these things can. Thinking of you.

I will come back over the weekend and catch up properly. PRomise. Hope you are all well.

Love to you all

Indith · 31/01/2014 15:59

LadyT I hope today went well. Much love to you.

Tim Tams are NOT like penguins! They are so velvety and wonderful. Penguins are rank. Checked Ocado, quite apart from the fact they don't deliver to us they don't do the dark ones and if it ain't dark I'm not interested.

Now want tim tams. Amazon wants to charge me over £8 for a packet.

Tesco used to do them many moons ago.

Mckayz · 31/01/2014 16:52

Thinking of you LadyT

beans37 · 31/01/2014 19:19

Hey Lady. hope you're surviving. thanks for reminding us Sybs.

jam, you ok re your Gran? when is the funeral?

I'm filled with dread. I know DD3 is only 4 months, but I've stopped sterilising (as I did with other 2 DDs at around this age) and gave away my steriliser yesterday. I am cleaning the bottles well in really hot water, then putting in a bit of boiling water and giving them a shake. but since then, DD3 has been really unsettled last night and then puked up most of tonight's bottle afterwards. She is a big old puker anyway, but fretting I've gone early on the non-sterilising... Reassure me please! !!

JustRubes · 31/01/2014 20:17

Coincidence beans. Are you using a dishwasher? Wouldn't worry. She'll be a ok and probably have a better immune system later!! Australian guidelines are 3 mths as far as I'm aware (or were) I never used a steriliser at all (dh never a fan) Just microwave sterilised in the beginning and stopped that at 3 months with both, just using a dishwasher only after.

How are you Shady? All ok I hope x
