Hello ladies, can you believe we will be entering into a 6th year of this thread this year?

Aww Beans that's lovely. Re nappy rash when dd1 had horrendous nappy rash it was thrush and I had to do alternate thrush stuff and some nappy rash stuff I've forgotten the name of. The thrush cream treated the thrush but the redness and bleeding needed the other stuff.

Hurray in the sleeping through Jam!

Indith I can't remember where I read this, it may be a Gina Ford potty training book but apparently reminding them can stop them knowing for themselves when they need to go. Not sure if this only applies to younger dcs and a friend lent me the book so I can't check! Perhaps experiment with not reminding her? Lots of drinks at home (in the garden maybe?!) and see how she gets on.

JamInMyWellies · 28/05/2014 15:36

Looks like our house purchase is going to fall flat on its arse. DH is a contractor and the mortgage underwriters are reluctant to give us a mortgage. It would seem that continuos employment for the last 5 yrs is not enough. So gutted.

Beans how is DDs bottom?

Is your mouth feeling better now Kayz?

sybsie · 28/05/2014 17:52

That's rubbish, Jam. Have you got a broker? Gingers crossed it can be sorted quickly and the move can go ahead.

Dorset is very cold and rainy, which is annoying me a but. Still, the children are bring delightful, Dh is doing well and there is wine at lunchtime. Ticks my box really. Maleficent tomorrow. Ill take me kindle and sit at the back.

Mckayz · 28/05/2014 18:10

Oh Jam that's rubbish. I hope you can get it sorted out.

Mouth isn't too bad now thanks, doesn't really hurt now. But I read it can take 4 weeks for the sockets to heal.

Vagolajahooli · 28/05/2014 20:25

hello ladies coming at you from Dusseldorf. I'm here with the boys over the Ascension long weekend because DS1 has a little this German-Benelux violin workshop meet up thing. DH couldn't come because he is talking at a conference in Amsterdam (& being put up at the Doubletree by Hilton dammit!). We've just gorged on take away pizza and are watching the Lego movie in the room. Was a nice train ride over. Picked the boys up from school at 12:15pm had a bit of lunch before heading off & by 5:30pm we were comfortably in our hotel room!

Jam I'm sorry about the house stress. Don't even get me started on mortgage providers. I really wish we could get away from ours for the London place because they have been so unbelievably crap (though hopefully we are getting some money back from them soon). But because we are now considered overseas borrowers we can't. No one will lend to us. Despite having loads of equity in the place. Stupids.

Shame it's not warmer Sybs but nice you're getting some time to read.

how's the chompers Kayz? How is the new found driving freedom?

I did an exam today but won't get the results until friday afternoon.

Bugger DS1 just spilt half a bottle of Orangina on my bed!

OP posts:
Vagolajahooli · 28/05/2014 20:38

I have a lovely smelling Orangina bed now. I got the boys a bottle each in Utrecht where we got on the international train. They don't get that much soft drink, mostly because if given the option DS1 goes for water & DS2 apple juice. Anyway, DS2 tried some of DH's spare tonic water at a beach bar over the weekend (minus the gin I swear) & he really liked it. So today when he took a sip of his Orangina in the train he announced quite loudly "oh it's like that tonic drink we had at the beach cafe mummy" Blush

oh & Beans how is the nappy rash.

OP posts:
Mckayz · 28/05/2014 20:42

DS2 was sick earlier. He said he felt fine as soon as he had been sick. I really hope it is not a bug and was just a one off.

Vag, I love Orangina. I want some now!

Mckayz · 28/05/2014 20:45

Oh and I am still not quite loving driving. I do love the freedom though and the not getting soaked. I had to go to a cashpoint today to get the boys dinner money for next week. It was raining so I just drove and parked next to the cashpoint in town.

I said I would pick DH up from Manchester when he comes home in July. Might have to try going on a motorway before that.

beans37 · 28/05/2014 21:08

DD3's bottom is so much better, thanks. We're off to Greece on Saturday, whoop whoop! So will continue with the cotton wool, drying with a muzzie and metanium. Don't want it to relapse. Hopung the swimming pool won't set her back.

Kayz, I still have a hole where I had my wisdom tooth removed 4 years ago!!! But it didn't hurt for long at all.

Jam. Tits. That is so very frustrating. Will keep my fingers crossed for you. When do you hear?

sybs, I really hope the weather picks up for you. It's shitty here too. We're all in our winter woollies. Crap crap.

Watching 24hrs in A&E. Makes me sob. But love it. Poor DH stuck on the train. I'm gasping to watch Game of Thrones with him, but suspect he'll be a while yet.

Off for a wee.

Lady and Rubes are you ok? Quiet girls.

X

Honsandrevels · 28/05/2014 21:24

That's rubbish Jam. Hope you get it sorted.

Kayz My first time on the motorway I went on by accident. I was staying with a friend at uni in Bradford and we were trying to go to the cinema. I took the wrong exit on a roundabout and ended up on the M62! During my first few years of driving I also managed to accidentally drive into bus stations in Sheffield and Liverpool. If I drive into a strange city I seem to head like a moth to a flame straight to the bus station. Maybe I missed my vocation as a bus driver!

JamInMyWellies · 28/05/2014 21:36

Thanks guys.

If you feel nervous about going on a motorway have a motorway lesson. I LOVE driving but I do remember being super nervous when I first started. But honestly if you keep on truckin you will get there.

So jealous of the holiday Beans if this stupid house thing doesnt happen I am so going on holiday this Summer.

Vag I love love love orangina, It reminds me of going on day trips to France with my parents when little. I also dont really let the boys have fizzy an occasional lemonade but they do love an orangina or a san pellegrino if they get the chance.

JamInMyWellies · 28/05/2014 21:38

Oh also any sewing type people I have been doing a course and its brill. I bought some fat quarters from a seller on Etsy but not sure what to make with them. Any ideas?

JustRubes · 28/05/2014 23:40

Thanks Beans. Yes all good just busy with upcoming move / referencing / red tape drama and being consumed by Breaking Bad Wink only just ending season 2 Arti - how on earth did you pause it !?
Kayz keep going. you'll feel confident soon. Promise.
Jam. Dear God that sounds quite similar to our situation. That said I think ours is working out for the best but I know it's so frustrating.... Fingers crossed for you x
Mine never have fiz. Offered it to ds at a party last week and he was completely weirded out by the bubbles.

JustRubes · 28/05/2014 23:45

Jam haven't a clue what you said at all about sewing Smile
Sybs hope the weather improves. It's crap here too. Garden looks lovely but wish it didn't since we are leaving! Have pulled up a few more plants that we put in but on Sunday mil cane over a pulled up a couple more. Granted she planted them but wtf, put them in her boot and said "I'll take these back to mine and if you want them at the new place I'll bring them back" - yeah right. Hate the effing formalities. Should have called her on it and said "ok I'll give you a call when I want them re-planted in the new garden" for the love of God I hate the way she dances around stuff

JustRubes · 29/05/2014 11:53

Jeez, just had the checkout report from our flat, and the tenant (not his fault) used some dodgy cleaning company who have messed up the solid oak worktops by bleaching and scouring parts of it!!!! Who does that!!!! Angry Angry and not cleaned anywhere near a professional standard. Need to get a decent cleaner in and the damage looked at. Awful timing... meanwhile over at our current letting agent, we continue to deal with morons. Apparently it takes an act of God to get a simple reference done for us! Example of a company with too many departments morons. Once says send your authorisation to this address, the other says we need your agent to contact us with a request. All of which has been done 3 times over.... Right, if I can get ds off playing angry birds on my phone, heads are gonna roll..... Might be time for another wet weather Apple TV purchase..... Angry Angry

JamInMyWellies · 29/05/2014 22:15

WHat a fucker Rubes

JustRubes · 30/05/2014 13:53

ds is whatsapping his father. He's spelling is almost all correct! I'm floored. I feel so old!

JustRubes · 30/05/2014 13:55

mainly becasue he's worked out predictive text!!!

Artichokes · 31/05/2014 17:03

It's scary isn't it Rubes. DD1 has a whole WhatsApp relationship with our au pair which I'm barely part of. DD2 tries but the predictive text confuses her and she isn't as fast a learner as DD1.

Just back from lovely week in Wales, we even managed to find the sun at times. DS has turned rather blonde (strawberry blonde points out DH).

Artichokes · 31/05/2014 17:04

We need a new thread title. Any ideas? This thread took six months to fill which saddens me. We used to fill threads in a m

Artichokes · 31/05/2014 17:05

Oops, month.

Still a new thread often speeds is up for a while.

Mckayz · 31/05/2014 17:10

Not a clue Arti, I am useless at thread names.

sybsie · 01/06/2014 14:30
