Hello ladies, can you believe we will be entering into a 6th year of this thread this year?

Sorry girls! Been asleep most of the day, had to get a friend to take DD1 into school as I would never have made it. It's proper flu as I have 6 out of 7 of the symptoms. Ugh. Fortunately DP has come home early so can manage the girls, don't know how I got them dressed this morning. Bit scared about the effect on the baby but apparently it's only if you get dehydrated or have breathing difficulties that flu is a problem. I do feel slightly breathless when I walk around but am not walking around!

Sybs, I am so sorry to hear that work has you at the end of your rope. Do you have time off for the Easter hols?

Arti, at least you have made a decision re: party...You will still have fun. Hoping the au pair comes through with the girls...Still feeling the same re: work? Am interested in DD2's middlechilditis. For myself I am more worried about DD1 as she is far less robust than DD2, who takes everything in her stride.

DD1's hearing - DP took her to the hospital which was a schoolboy error on my part as have had a garbled version of events :-D Her left ear is quite bad and the right ear is compensating. We have got to go back in 3 months to see if it was glue ear. Otherwise, more tests I think. It's hard for her if she isn't facing people and it makes me very sad. I remembered about Pingu's DD1 and must drop her a line.

Kayz, am excited for you re: test. Feeling positive on your behalf.

Vag, where are you going in Italy? We're off to Sorrento in late May.

Ok.....drum roll.....I did laugh hard about having a willy growing inside me (what a disconcerting thought!) However....it is a DD3!!! I think I only make girls and Mum was one of 11 girls and I do think I follow her side of the fam. I did think there was a fair chance it was a boy this time cos I have felt so darn different with this pregnancy. I love girls and wanted the other two to be girls but this time I would have felt equally happy with a boy and would have enjoyed a different experience. And to my shock, DP is actually quite disappointed! It turns out he was secretly hoping for a boy as he feels quite outnumbered! Anyway, either way, another little girl will be just gorgeous. I am leafing through my copy of 'Poncetastic Names for baby girls' already.

Jeez, I feel very rough. Also a bit weepy. And I am not the weepy sort. Will take a butchers at jammy's house thread then better get my throbbing head down again.

sybilfaulty · 03/04/2014 16:50

Another girl! How wonderful. Huge congratulations.

Good luck for tomorrow Kayz. You will be grand.

Right, must start wrapping DD1's birthday things. How did she get to be 9?

Mckayz · 03/04/2014 16:51

Congratulations Lady! How lovely!! Hope you feel much better very soon.

JamInMyWellies · 03/04/2014 18:00

Hurrah another girl Grin

JerusalemArtichoke · 03/04/2014 18:12

Three girls is wonderful. I was quite drawn to the idea before we found out A was a boy. I think there is something quite powerful about three sisters. It's a shame your DP feels a bit sad, I'm sure he will come to revel in being the one man in the house. Sorry to hear you are feeling so rough, have you seen a doc to check its not a chest infection?

beans37 · 03/04/2014 18:32

woohoo! 3 girls are magic. and so much money saved on clothes and toys. I'm so practical!
Welcome to the girls only gang! we even have a female dog!!

get better soon angel.

sybs, would LOVE to see you guys xx

ShadyLadyT · 03/04/2014 18:38

I haven't seen a doctor, can't contemplate getting out of bed! Sitting up is a big operation. I know I'm bad as I have to be practically dead to lie about. DP is amazed. I do think he has enjoyed being a father of girls, especially with DD1 to whom he is particularly close, but he is a very blokey man who likes blokey pursuits and male company and the thought of another little bloke had evidently got him a bit wistful. Also I think he worries he will feel very out of his depth with a bunch of teenage girls.

It is exciting though. Also weird, because I think we have got a mini him in DD1 and a mini me in DD2 - what on earth is a DD3 going to be like?? Beans? Also - Jam? Actually ANY of you with three, not just same sex ones.

ShadyLadyT · 03/04/2014 18:41

Yes Beans, DD3 is going to be a real second hand Rose! That's some oestrogen wave for your DH to surf!

beans37 · 03/04/2014 19:00

mine are all so different. DD1 was very easy and is eager to please. she looks like DH, but is more my character. DD2 looks a bit more like me, is v independent and a bit complicated. DD3 is yet to be established and looks like a mix of both sisters. here's a guilty, but rather wonderful secret... you know how babies start to cry real tears at some age? I don't know if DD3 does or not yet; she just never cries!!! a happy little mite. I hope it doesn't mean there's something wrong with her.

JamInMyWellies · 03/04/2014 19:33

I love having 3. DH and I were just talking last night about how different they all are. DS1 so serious and do caught up in his imagination all the time. Lots of friends but loves his own company. Very like me. DS2 is so sociable and has lots of best friends is loud but quite sensitive. Very like DH. DS3 so far is incredibly smiley and laid back. Just super chilled. Not sure who he favours yet as still so little.

By the way if you look at house. Ignore floor plan and most of the description as it's all wrong. DH okayed it then I checked it over this morning. Long email to the estate agents and it's being rectified. At this rate we will never get a viewing and will lose house to other couple. I hate this bit. Constant tidying and cleaning on the off chance.

Am in the middle of putting ds3 to bed so must pay him some attention.

Lady I do think you should go and see your GP. I hope you are taking your preg vits. Feel better soon.

ShadyLadyT · 03/04/2014 19:45

I might call my obstetrician tomorrow. Sometimes they prescribe antivirals for preggos with flu. Our GP surgery isn't that great. If I feel like I do today, tomorrow, I couldn't even get in the car. Think it's unlikely I will be going for my nuchal in London tomorrow even though DP can drive me. Ugh. Feel quite desperate for some improvement. I managed a bit of cheese on toast earlier but can't really eat so had nothing else all day but have been having vits.

I thought your house looked gorgeous, Jam. Just lovely. Can't believe someone won't want it - agree on mass viewing to stimulate interest.

JerusalemArtichoke · 03/04/2014 21:21

My three are utterly different. DD1 has always been easy, happy and sensible but also a bit shy. She does well at school and has a small group of v close friends. DD2 has always been more challenging, she worries and frets but can be hugely charming and great fun. She has tons of friends but only really gives a damn about adults. DS seems easygoing, he is v affectionate and smiley and an easy baby.

Lady I do think you need to talk to a doctor, you sound so ill. How long more can you wait before you miss the cut off for the nuchal?

JerusalemArtichoke · 03/04/2014 21:21

Katz how did the test go???

ShadyLadyT · 03/04/2014 21:40

Kayz's test is tomorrow lunchtime.

I think if I am not showing signs of proper improvement I will have to seek medical advice tomorrow. The trouble is, am not sure how far along I am as I am 13 wks by date but due to long cycle am possibly 5 days behind this, they think, though I think they now think I am only 3 days behind. So not long for nuchal. I am supposed to be back in London on Monday afternoon for appointment with my consultant (so amazing to see her again, she threw her arms around me which was lovely. We have such great chats!) so possible I may be able to reschedule for then. DP doesn't understand why I can't just get in the car...Even my scalp is sore! Even going down one flight of stairs to the loo is a production number! However, have been amusing myself reading threads on MN about people with flu who get loads of posters insisting they can't have it if they are typing, then are subsequently hospitalised/diagnosed with pneumonia etc. I am getting a bit scared reading how it can be fatal in pregnant mothers though. Oh man.

Yes, I think having three will be fascinating, if knackering.

JustRubes · 03/04/2014 23:37

Feels like ages since I've been here sorry, do consumed with real life at mo.
Lady so sorry you are ill and also sorry to hear dd1 update. Hopefully result is all is not too troubling.
Bummed I missed the gender guessing! Mine would have been girl as I just can't see you with boys! So thrilled for you. The first two are gorgeous so can't go wrong!
Bro is over now - arrived 1st. So good to have them all here. The girls even made ds's Easter bonnet and got them ready for school yesterday after a (ahem) Late night when he arrived.Grin
Lady we move in about 4 weeks. After quite a favourable valuation for sale and rental we decided to put our flat up for both to test the sake market. They've had positive viewings already one day after it went online, so we shall see. We are getting advice to sell now (if we get a great price) so in 12 or so months time we are in a better position as a buyer wherever dh ends up. But again not phased if no bites as we'll hang on to it.
Jam good luck with the sale. I suspect it won't take long at all. They sold our house within a week and still are wanting to have viewings going on as the buyer is in a chain.
Anyway. Must sleep.
Ds last day today so 5 kids for 2 weeks now! Plans are being made..! X

JustRubes · 03/04/2014 23:39

Obviously to test the "sale" market, not the "sake" market however might be a good idea too. Wink

MomOrMum · 03/04/2014 23:55

Hello long lost friends! So nice to read some news, though only the last page. I do feel like I get some Dec 08 updates via Facebook but it's not the same as seeing you all on here.

Lady...congrats! How wonderful. For the record I guessed a DD3 between the bottom of the page and the top of the page when you announced no willy.

I currently have my gorgeous DD1/DC3 nibbling away on my nipple...hoping I can put her down soon! She is a real joy and so easy compared to the boys. Do you think DC3s have a survival instinct to be easy as they can tell no one has enough time or attention for them?!

Lady, sorry to hear about your flu. My boys both had the proper flu back in Feb and it was so awful. Honestly they barely showed any improvement for 8-9 days. 40 degree fever pretty much that whole time. I didn't get it as I had flu shot in pregnancy. Hope you feel a bit better soon.

Lots of love to everyone. Any chance of a meet up in London or environs soon??

MomOrMum · 03/04/2014 23:55

Oooh Jam...moving on to the house thread. Love a good property thread!

Mckayz · 04/04/2014 07:35

I feel sick. Can't wait to get it over and done with.

Nolda · 04/04/2014 07:45

Good luck, Kayz. What time is your test?

JamInMyWellies · 04/04/2014 07:53

Good luck today Kayz.

Mom lovely to see you.

Mckayz · 04/04/2014 07:56

Half past 1 Nolda. Wish it was sooner.
