Hello ladies, can you believe we will be entering into a 6th year of this thread this year?

It's next Friday Vag!

JamInMyWellies · 28/03/2014 12:19

They were cocktail glasses in celebration of your assignment success. I guess MN doesnt recognise iphone emocions. So have these instead Wine Wine

Vagolajahooli · 29/03/2014 08:58

Thanks Jam, I necked those, clearly I was very thirsty. Speaking of necking drinks our new M&S has a deal of Devon cider mmmm I poured a glass yesterday which lasted about 2 seconds.

Big hairy bollocks. My childminder is moving to Canada.

Vagolajahooli · 29/03/2014 13:34

oh no Indith. how long do you have to look for another?

I'm looking after a friends kids while her & her hubby have a weekend away in Copenhagen. The kids are having a good time so far. Hey & Rubes guess what, my friend saw 'our Mary' in copenhagen with her hubby Prince Frederick.

Happy Mothers Day everyone xx

Indith · 30/03/2014 15:30

September. So a fair while but it will creep up all too soon. Not many CMs around here really. Options so far are that there is a self employed nanny locally who charges by the hour. He dd will be starting at our school in September so I think it would be ideal for her to picking mine up from there too! She cleans too which I admit is attractive but care in our home isn't ideal given how much dh works form home and I study at home when on placement. Or we see if a pretty busy CM who has my friend's boys after school has space for my big ones and we put ds2 in nursery. Both options cost about the same. Both are several thousand more than our current CM :(

A friend has previously mentioned she is thinking of registering, she lives up the road so it would be great. I've let her know we'd be very interested but can't really pile the pressure on the poor woman!

Think we'll go for nursery plus CM as we can register our interest to start Sept which give my friend time to register and we could change our minds (but lose deposit). If we went for the nanny we'd have to start now. Current CM doesn't mind, she knows if we find something we'll have to go for it.

Hope everyone has been having a lovely day :)

Indith · 31/03/2014 12:40

I broke the thread with my moaning.

hoping the clock change has reset ds2 the early riser. normally he is 5 or 5.30am. This morning he woke at 6.30 Smile . Keep it up boy.

sybilfaulty · 31/03/2014 14:56

Hello everyone - just adding myself in. Am having a work nightmare again (so what's new?!) and haven't had time to read but just wanted to say hello and say I hope to catch up properly with you all soon. Hope everyone is well and happy. Love to you all XXXXX

Indith · 31/03/2014 17:08

Wine for you Sybs.

Am tearing my hair out. The good CM who has my friend's boys has no space for my big two and the other CM only goes until 5.15pm because "I don't know anyone who works later than that". Ah the joys of living in an area of high unemployment. There is another one who is in our village but she doesn't drive (and is in our village, all the schools are in the next village. I spent a lot of time walking up and down the lines between the two when I didn't have a car but that was me and my child, I don't want to pay someone to have my toddler spend 3 hours a day or more in a buggy) plus she has dogs and my big ones especially are not happy with dogs. Nor am I. My fault, I was attacked when small and still get tense and the dcs have picked it up from me.

Argh!

The nearish very good nursery has space for ds2 though from September so that is good. But we still need the big ones minding.

JamInMyWellies · 01/04/2014 19:13

Tumbleweed. .…

Indith · 01/04/2014 19:28

Perhaps they have all gone out and found the real world. Do you think they will be ok? Did they pack enough jam sandwiches and ginger beer?

Vagolajahooli · 01/04/2014 20:17

mmmm ginger beer.

I'm here just trying to not check mn or FB during the day due to needing to get my ass into gear for my next assignment. Failing miserably at that, i tend to pop in and read what you kids are up to, but can't always post. Uni is ok, I found out today that I actually got part of a question right that had been marked wrong in my exam so actually got 93% woot woot! Spewing though I changed an answer at the last minute and should have left it. oh well still happy.

Hey guys! I've been so quiet that I lost the thread! I've missed you all!
just seem to be terribly busy with 3 kids etc. Really enjoying it at the moment, although am a little over generous with my shouting with the older 2. DD2 is testing my patience severely. She's lovely, but has a bad case of middlechilditis. Breaks my heart, but also makes me seethe.
Jam,has DS3 recovered from his jabs? Poor little mite.
Indith, I hope your childcare issues get resolved.
Got book club tonight. Am looking forward to it.

A small whisper here, (Indith look away) but DD3 seems to have cracked sleeping from 6.30-6.30!!! Apart from the odd blip, obviously. Last night for example. But previously I had 2 weeks of sleep. Amazing!! Am delighted.

beans37 · 02/04/2014 18:27

Sorry posted in error. And relieved as DD2 didn't sleep through til nearly 3.

ShadyLadyT · 02/04/2014 23:19

Lovely ladies, sorry to be AWOL yet again. Not even going to type much as feeling crappo in bed with horrid virus. Doncher just adore impaired immune systems? Was a prezzie from DD1. Got my harmony results yest (they wanted me to wait until Fri when I go for my nuchal) but I begged them. Negative for the three trisomies so a massive relief. Obviously need to wait for nuchal/combined before I can completely relax. However, I do know the sex....But I am going to need some guesses before I tell you. Mwah ha ha ha!

Still with the sickness and knackeredness. Am about 12 or 13 wks now so hoped it would have effed the eff off by now.

Jam, vaspospasm sounds awful. Still no joy with the GP? Housey news?

Last couple of weeks taken up with organising the Easter fete and doing appraisals at pre-school, together with DD2 being on ABs for a mystery illness and finding out DD1 has impaired hearing (though it could be glue ear). Poor baby. Kayz - any developments on the ADHD thing? Rooting for you on Fri!

Rubes, you have been having a torrid time...when do you have to leave? Is new house far? When is bro over? Wot about hernia?

ZJ, glad you got to meet Arti. Was free in town the v next day! Arti, what did you decide about au pair and babysitting DS?

Huzzah for completed assignments etc. bummer about your CM, Indith. Any joy?

I want to write so much more to so many more but I feel so gross I have to go.

Am fretting about secondary schools already. Am an idiot. Oxford schools so far away (18 miles), local school not v good. Need to get a grip. I think my brain likes finding things to worry about.

sybilfaulty · 03/04/2014 06:12

Great news about your tests, LAdy - I am going for girl. 3 of the same. Perfect. SOrry you are not well though. Hope you rally soon.

beans37 · 03/04/2014 06:30

I'd say girl too, as am biased, but the sickness has thrown me a bit. still, going to say girl.
get better soon.
sybs, how are you?

sybilfaulty · 03/04/2014 06:34

Lovely beans, I am very well but at the end of my tether work wise, which has got in the way of my socialising and being on here! Not good. This should be the end of this particular nightmare for a while.

I was looking at pics of your lovely girls on FB the other day and the kids and I are all desperate to come and see you! We are long overdue a catch up. I'll message you.

Hope you and your wonderful family are all grand and groovy. IS DH still around or has he more trips planned to leave you flying solo? You are amazing doing such long stints without him when your 3 are still so wee.

Lots of love to you XXX

And lots of love to everyone else too of course Smile

JerusalemArtichoke · 03/04/2014 06:46

I'm so pleased to see a little activity on here. I keep dropping by, feeling sad about the quietness, but not having time to post. Three kids plus full time job plus having to cook proper meal for au pair each night = no time.

Lady, it's a boy, you will follow my pattern. I'm so glad your Harmony results were good. What an amazing test it is. Sorry to hear of your flu, I had it two weeks ago and was knocked out, then the au pair got it, then DD2, then DD1. DH was only fit specimen.

Indith, sorry to hear of your child are woes. Do you have a spare room for an au pair? It's super cheap and flexible.

Beans, brilliant news on the sleeping. We have 7.30-6.30 here and it's such a relief after the first nine wakeful months. My DD2 also has bouts if middle childitus but they are getting less frequent and less severe thank goodness.

Veg, congrats on the course results. When are you off to Italy?

Sybs, your work sounds a nightmare. Is this a temporary blip or might it stay like this?

Katz, is it your driving test tomorrow? If so, good luck!

This is the weekend of the 40th birthday in Suffolk but we aren't leaving DS. I just feel too guilty as I hardly see him Mon - Weds (literally maybe 30mins in 24 hours), I get a few hours on Thurs pm and then Fri-Sun. I think he is too little to spend even less time with me.

I stopped BFing this week. I feel a little sad as DS is my last. He is 10.5 months but I did longer with the girls. End if an era that I (mainly) enjoyed. How goes your feeding issues Jam?

Right, must get ready for work. xx

Mckayz · 03/04/2014 07:20

Morning,

Lady I am going for boy. I hope you feel better soon.

Beans, Yay for sleeping!! I have completely given up any hope of sleeping a whole night ever again.

Yes Arti it is my driving test tomorrow. I am dreading it. It's at 1330, now wishing I had gone for the 0840 one so I didn't have to wait.

JamInMyWellies · 03/04/2014 07:32

Lady I think a boy.

Will be back later today. I have also felt a bit sad about the quietness. But I must make more of an effort to post.

Indith · 03/04/2014 08:25

I vote boy.

More later. Am going to make the most of library time today then I'm having this evening off.

JerusalemArtichoke · 03/04/2014 08:59

Now at work but computer system down rendering me totally useless. Thank god for my trusty phone.

On way to work DH's parents called to say they can't have the girls this weekend after all (we can only take DS to Suffolk as v little room). Nightmare. Looks like whole weekend might be off as I know the au pair now has plans Sat night. I've texted her and begged. We will see.

Lady, how bad is DD1's hearing? I know Pingu's DD had significant hearing loss so she may have some advice. One of my closest friends has three children with severely impaired hearing and she has researched EVERY avenue of help and support. I can put you in touch if you like. Hopefully it's just glue ear though.

Mckayz · 03/04/2014 11:31

Lady, nothing more on the ADHD. I'm going to chase it up after Easter. DS1 has been absolutely brilliant though recently. Hardly ever tell him off.

DS2 is having trouble though. He doesn't play with anyone, he spends a lot of his lunch on his own, through his own choice. It's very strange as before school he runs about with his friends. So why he doesn't do it at playtime I don't know.

Just had my last driving lesson. Arghhhh
