Hello ladies, can you believe we will be entering into a 6th year of this thread this year?

Nolda · 04/04/2014 08:01

Ah, I see it is 13.30. I'll be crossing my fingers or you.

sybilfaulty · 04/04/2014 08:26

Goood luck Kayz X

JerusalemArtichoke · 04/04/2014 08:45

Yay! So many people!

Good luck today Kayz!

Rubes, am i right that your bro is a single dad now? How is he doing? It sounds like his girls are great if they get yourbkids ready for school! Have you fiund a house to move to? Good luck selling your flat.

Mom, its nice to hear you have been blessed with an easy number 3 too. How go the renovations?

Nolda! How are things? Are you all settled into your new home?

Lady i hope you see a doc today. The virus i had last week was high fever for 48 hours then just a very horrid cold but DD2, the au pair and now MiL were bed bound for dats with horrid fevers, dizziness and all sorts. I hope your DP isnt leaving on your own at the mo.

Jam i love your house. Do you have a link to the place you hope to buy?

I was up half the night with a bad stomach. At one point i couldnt get off the loo for an hour. Lovely. Still feel horrid this morn but have to take DD2 for an appointment with a peadiatric gastroentorologist re her coeliacs. I really dont feel up to it especially as ds will have to come too and will scream unless allowed to crawl all over the hospital floor. Urgh.

JamInMyWellies · 04/04/2014 09:07

house that will bankrupt us

Poor you arti. Did you get your wkend childcare sorted?

JerusalemArtichoke · 04/04/2014 10:19

What a huge garden Jam, and light rooms, v nice.

I do have child are for the weekend. The au pair will have the girls from noon tomorrow to 2pm Sun. I think she's going to take them to the Tower of London which should be fun. I just need to be well enough to go to the party. I seem to be ill every ten days or so at the moment. It's properly depressing.

Vagolajahooli · 04/04/2014 13:30

hey ladies so lovely to see you all!

Kayz I have commenced your white lighted thoughts.

Congrats on the growth of more lady parts Lady. I understand where DP is coming from, I adore my boys and in hindsight in know we have a good balance of hormones in this house (there needed to be a lot of testosterone to balance my crazy oestrogen) but I am a girl and it makes me a little blue that I will never share my life with a daughter. But I am super lucky to have these two wonderful boys & our life is good.

Speaking of your pregnant self though Lady, often when it comes to respiratory illnesses having horrid outcomes, it is down to not seeking medical treatment early enough. So no waiting around, it is Friday, what sort of GP cover do you have over the weekend. If the answer is none then get yourself some where now. If you are too unwell to get to the scan then you need to get checked out. The worst that could happen is they say you are fine but are aware you are out there. They can tell you what to look for to decide if you should get yourself to a hospital. There consider yourself told.

hi Mom.

Arti sorry to hear your unwell too, not fun for you especially with DD1's appointment.

Jam I like your house, but I could definitely see why you are moving. That kitchen is enormous.

I will start looking at rentals in Australia soon, I promise I will link. Initially it will be the low end of the market but if DH starts getting interest from prospective employers then we might be able to move up in the rental price list.

Rubes, lovely you have the cousins & bro staying. How is he? Your housing bits has my head in a spin.

poor DS2 is next to me with a temperature and sore throat. However, he requested kippers & rice to eat, so he is watching cartoons & munching on his kippers and rice. DS1 is at a friends house and I'll be picking him up in 30 minutes. Poor DS2 has to come out with me and then out again when I take DS1 to gymnastics.

Vagolajahooli · 04/04/2014 14:30

Bollocks shit and fuck!!

sybilfaulty · 04/04/2014 14:42

Oh dear. Never mind. You can redo it. What went wrong?

Honsandrevels · 04/04/2014 14:45

Marking my place for a catch up later..

LadyT hope you feel better soon and congrats on dd3! How exciting!

Kayz Bad news or surprised to pass?!

Mckayz · 04/04/2014 15:00

I'm such a plonker!! I've rebooked it. I only got 3 minors so if I hadn't got a serious fault I would have passed.

Indith · 04/04/2014 15:03

Love the word plonker. What did you do?

My first test I failed in the first minute. We'd not even left the side road where the test centre was and the examiner had to use the duel control to do an emergency stop Blush .

Mckayz · 04/04/2014 15:11

I thought I didn't have enough time to get out of the junction after I set off. So I stupidly stopped.

The examiner said if I had kept going I would have been fine.

Honsandrevels · 04/04/2014 15:35

I got 3 minors and a serious fault on my first test Kayz. Just put it behind you and build your confidence for next time.

Honsandrevels · 04/04/2014 15:46

Sorry dangerous not serious!

Indith · 04/04/2014 16:31

You'll be fine next time. You'll be more relaxed too having just been through it all, you know what to expect. junctions etc is just about experience. heck I still do the start forwards and change my mind thing Grin

beans37 · 04/04/2014 16:43

oh bum Kayz. but do NOT give up!

jam, loving the new potential house. yum. will have to come and visit after the holidays.

beans37 · 04/04/2014 16:45

Was meant to be whining about being on a diet. it's miserable

JerusalemArtichoke · 04/04/2014 17:05

Bad luck Kayz. All the best people fail first time (and second in my case).

What a day: bad stomach all night, shaky all morning, gather strength to take DD2 to hospital appointment, two hours at hospital including blood tests, stuck on tube in tunnel for 20 mins on way back, now at surgery waiting for my smar test which is forgotten was today. Fun, fun, fun.

JamInMyWellies · 04/04/2014 22:06

I passed on my 5th attempt Kayz. Every time I failed on bloody reverse round the corner.

ShadyLadyT · 04/04/2014 23:06

Just a quickie as been feeling foul.

Arti, that sounds like a really, really, awful day. I so hope you are starting to feel better and that the weekend improves from here.

Kayz, I know practically no one who passed on their first attempt. It was only a silly mistake, don't be hard on yourself. I think test practice is good.

Rubes, I hope you can sell your flat at a top dollar price. That would be great. I would have loved to meet your brother but I think he will be gone by the time I have re-emerged from the Easter hols. I hope he is cheering up. Is your new house very close to your current one?

Mom, it's lovely to see you! DD sounds like a cherub.

So...had another awful night. Forced myself to scan as unsure of dates as they have chopped and changed so much, and also frankly wanted to see the baby move. Turns out they have decided I am back to 13 wks and 1 so just As well I went. Got bloods done first in Wimpole St and lovely Tongan nurse told me I should be in bed and struggled with my veins as they seemed weirdly sunken in. "You're dehydrated, doll!" DP drove me round the corner to the scan and all I did was cough so it took twice as long to get the measurements, which are all good. Was then driven to see my consultant who wasn't there, so saw the resident midwife. By this time I was barely able to stand. My face is yellow with purple circles under my eyes. She said she was as sure as she could be without doing a swab that it was flu and that she thought I might need antibiotics for my throat and chest and that I now needed to rest and hope it didn't turn into pneumonia. I needed to see my GP. Well, it was 5.45pm and I had no hope of seeing anyone today in Oxon so she said go to an out of hours clinic tomorrow and to go to hospital if my temp starts rising again. I am actually quite terrified. I have had a throat as nasty as this before but never a cough like this. Sorry to bore on about it ladies but just getting into a tizzy and it helps to write it down, despite throbbing Fackin head. Any further medical tips extremely welcome, Vag or Mr Rubes. Xxx

sybilfaulty · 05/04/2014 06:38

Lovely Lady, you need to hie yourself along to OOH or preferably to the Ante natal unit at the JR (assuming it's your nearest hospital) as soon as you can. Temperatures and infections are all worse in pregnancy as your immune system is depressed to allow you to grow your baby so you will feel much worse as a result. Dehydration is also really dangerous for you.

Personally I wouldn't run the gauntlet of OOH as the GPs round here on it are a bit random. I'd head straight to the AN unit, as they won't turn you away and will decide on the spot if you should be admitted, treated with ABs or just given instructions to do bed rest. You need to take extra care of yourself, my darling. My PG knowledge is quite rusty now but as far as I recall your body protects the baby at the expense of the mother and so you will be wretched even though the baby is OK. Please let us know that you have been.

Huge sympathies on the weight, Beans. I am a bit of a porker myself right now and my youngest baby is 5 so I can't blame that! Grrr.

Right, shower and work. I don't want to go. Only there for the extra cash. Kerching!

Love to you all

JerusalemArtichoke · 05/04/2014 06:50

Lady please, please go to a doctor this morning. I have two friends who've had flu turn to pneumonia this winter and both tried to soldier on without seeing a doctor for too long. They were not even preggers. I really, really hope you feel better soon. xxx

Indith · 05/04/2014 07:21

lady you MUST go and see a dr.
