Hello ladies, can you believe we will be entering into a 6th year of this thread this year?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

So we went to the local garden centre as it has animals and things. Half of the animals were closed off and DD1 spent half the time begging me for a toy and DD2 just wanted a wee the whole time. Gave up and came home after 20mins. Now going to put a DVD on and snuggle up, despite the lovely weather! With chicken nuggets and chips for all. Healthy!

Indith · 22/03/2014 17:07

Ah that feeling of deep joy when your child says "that poo was just like chocolate water mummy. It was a very sloshy poo."

So that'll be dd off school on Monday then

beans37 · 22/03/2014 17:31

DD2 often has runny poos. I'm afraid I send her off to school anyway! otherwise she'd always be at home. I am bored of today. truly. I need some adult conversation.

beans37 · 23/03/2014 07:24

DH back. he did the 5.30am shift. hurray! but wow he's noisy. lovely but noisy. zero chance of any more sleep and the big girls woken up too. but I had a lovely doze. and the girls are so delighted! I came down at 6.30 and he hadn't fed DD3! He can't win, poor man.

hope all well x

Indith · 23/03/2014 07:48

Glad he is back beans.

Indith · 23/03/2014 10:26

So dd doesn't get homework as such, they have a "home-school diary"

This week "encourage you child to find patterns"

I just told dd to go to the park and bring me back 3 things with a pattern on.

I am such a good, involved parent.

Tis all about fostering independence isn't it?

JamInMyWellies · 23/03/2014 22:14

Hurrah for DHs being home. Beans & Kayz. Mine too.

Arti any luck in your FB problem?

Indith sound like perfect hwk. Have to say if my DS had the runs Sat morning and then nothing they would absoloutely be going to school on Monday.

News in the jammy house we are putting our house up for sale and are going to bankrupt ourselves to try and get an amazing home. Not sure if it's all going to work mortgage wise as DH is a contractor so tricky getting mortgages and the house we have found is way above our budget but it's a forever home. Fingers crossed.

The nipples are still rubbish. I have spent many hrs reading up on burning nipples and I don't think it's thrush. I think I have nipple vasospasm. If I really really work on DS3's latch it helps a bit, but I think it's been caused by the trauma I got at the begining and then lazy latching. Anyone with any ideas on how I can get better??

I have to sleep now DS3 is not sleeping well. Waking roughly every hr.

JerusalemArtichoke · 24/03/2014 11:43

Sorry to hear that feeding still isn't going well Jam. Will DS3 take a bottle to give you a break?

It was lovely meeting ZJ last week. So nice to put more faces to names.we must manage another group meet soon.

Beans, glad your DH is home. Why does your DD2 have so many runny poos? Could she be intolerant to something? My DD2 is the Queen of the runny poo but she has coeliac a so I know why.

I'm at home nursing very poorly DS and DD2. I think they both have the flu. DD2 was delirious this morning but has recently rallied and is sucking an ice Lilly while watching Tangled. DS has red raw skin under his very snotty nose and his normal wheeze. It's been a nightmare winter for germs, I can't wait for summer.

JerusalemArtichoke · 24/03/2014 14:30

Jammy, I meant to ask, is the house your hoping for the one you linked to last week with all the beams? If so it was gorgeous.

JamInMyWellies · 24/03/2014 16:38

No we saw that but it was tiny upstairs and the road was so busy.

It's another brand new but similar to our in that v rural more so than where we are now. But beautifully done.

JerusalemArtichoke · 24/03/2014 16:45

Ooooh, do you have a link?

JamInMyWellies · 24/03/2014 19:40

Made our only offer been rejected. Gutted. It was approx 50grand above our top budget anyway so we would have struggled.

JamInMyWellies · 25/03/2014 15:03

I have broken the thread with talk of my nipples and houses.

beans37 · 25/03/2014 16:41

no you haven't! bummer about your offer. poor lamb.

I've been to the nurse today with sore hands. got told off copiously for not going sooner. got horrible dermatitis with cracks and blood and the works. been prescribed endless creams and steroids! I knew they were worse than usual. throbbing by the end of the day! whinge whinge.

x

JamInMyWellies · 25/03/2014 17:56

Beans you poor thing. Have you seen those gloves that Bliss do? They are I think silicone lined so when you put hand cream on then the gloves at night they help lock in moisture and when you wake up in the morning beautifully soft skin.

JustRubes · 25/03/2014 18:02

Hello,

Sorry about the offer Jam but exciting about the up for sale biz!

Arti hope the sickies get well soon, and did you get the ring back? I seem to recall unscrewing a u-bend myself once. Speaking of plumbing, our main toilet was out of action for ages and of course the estate agents were doing bugger all. Finally got a plumber over and fixed it. 3 hours later he left, then the following morning I had a waterfall into the room downstairs. I managed to turn off the water supply to the toilet and stop it until he could get back, but the wall is now cactus. Suffice to say, photos have been taken and we won't be paying to make that wall good on our departure!

I'm behind again....[sigh] I caught up awhile back - had no time to post then forgot everything.
Had a lovely night out with the Mums at school recently - was the most hungover I've been since my 20's I'd say!

Well they've (I think/thought) sold this house in about a week of marketing and 10 viewings! Anyway, it was tension all round as I have been frantically house hunting (rental stop gap) and dh just wasn't on board. Denial. I had to go postal before he decided to be less difficult about it all. Our tenant also gave notice and I was half considering moving back into that place as was at wits end! Anyway, loads of negotiation over a lovely rental that dh couldn't justify originally and he basically checked out of the process and started ordering expensive bikes instead - cue Rubes complete meltdown since we are both in the same boat, and then he finally looked at what is out there himself and decided my research and negotiationg skills were not to be scoffed at. I beat the agent down so much that he said I should have been in real estate (fairly sure that's not a compliment) I feel like I've looked at so many rental houses (including possibly I think uncovering a cannabis farm! Hmm) and dh just didn't want to compromise on anything, but we were screwed either way as to downsize and store furniture was more expensive than renting the extra room (still smaller than where we are - we have been spoiled with cheap rent as we were planning to buy this)
Considering testing the waters listing the flat for sale / rental at the same time as had good feedback on value of both but need to talk to dh.
Hernia seems to have settled but obv's still going to my clinic appt and go from there. Got to have a filling replaced too - it's just needles galore Sad
DBro arriving next month as needs to get away - am really looking forward to it amongst the chaos!
Sorry no personals - will try and get back although I'm off to NY tomorrow and a million things to do in the interim.

Mckayz · 27/03/2014 08:03

Just popping in to say hello. Been really busy here, trying to sort out the house as we have zero storage and too much stuff. Also I have my driving test next Friday so seem to be spending all my life driving. It's quite tiring.

Hope everyone is well.

Indith · 27/03/2014 20:15

Oh god so dd never did more squits on sat so she has been in school who week. tonight it is pouring out of her. urgh.

JamInMyWellies · 27/03/2014 20:31

Is it a food intolerance Indith?

So our dream home may be back on. Grin It would appear the first EA didn't put our offer forward. I thought I would just ask the other EAs today (its a dual agent) and they were convinced that it was still on the market. We immediately put our offer back in and he accepted subject to ours selling. Huzzah! But we have to sell ours before the other couple and it needs to be quick. So does anyone fancy a lovely detached 4 bed in the Essex countryside with direct train links to London and a school which is in the top 5 in Essex? Oh yes and self employed contractor DH means tricky to get a mortgage so fingers crossed.

How everyone else??

Vagolajahooli · 27/03/2014 20:50

Sorry for the radio silence I have been super busy with this course and the usual kids stuff. But enjoying the course and I got 91% in my first exam. woot woot. I went out with a friend for a pedicure to celebrate today.

Jam you have me on an emotional roller coaster with your house purchasing. Any link to the house?

Rubes I am equally rollercoastering with your housing issues.

Indith sorry about the poo, not nice. Any chance she could be intolerant to something.

Kayz very excited about the test on Friday. fingers crossed.

Indith · 27/03/2014 21:01

nah. She does have pretty sensitive bowels but we know what sets her off. She is just very, very tired and rub down and there is a tummy bug going round school.

Indith · 27/03/2014 21:02

Well done by the way vag.
