I don't know how to advise anyone so will provide BrewCakeWine as needed

R has 2 30-40 minute naps a day and sleeps 6-6:30/7 except at the moment with teething (he's got 7, both right lateral incisors arrived on Friday!) he's needing a bum change twice a night and is waking before 6 Sad i even tried disposables but no difference, last night he pooed twice! He rarely poos at night, luckily he's done some stinkers today so fx fewer wakes Hmm

We marched in the local parade with a friend of mine who runs a youth charity. No current family members serving but lots of the older generation

DS1 was at the parade with his Scouts group. :)

Lily yes, he goes down at the same time at night - between 7 and 8. I could put him to bed at 7 no problems, but some nights we just aren't ready for 7, so I keep him up longer. But that's my choice, if I put him down, he'd sleep.

I bought something yesterday. Won't be much use to many now - but may to some like us who will be reliant on formula a while longer.

DP chief bottle maker declared it amazing and is very pissed off at the last 11 months of wasted counting time!

He didn't sleep but I didn't walk either Smile

We spent the afternoon taking selfies and being silly. He is in bed now and I am cuddling a hot water bottle (sent to me by Lily Smile ) and planning his birthday party.

Had anyone given their LO a pillow yet? I seem to recall DS1 and DS2 got one when they turned a year but J sleeps on his tummy so I'm not sure he needs one.

Evening ladies.

Loved the selfies chasing. You look every inch the happy family!

Wish I was coming for dinner isles. I could nom all four courses while staring unflinchingly at his highness. You could pretend nothing was happening and we would lol and lol!

P appears to have self-settled tonight again! Get in! I popped her down still pretty awake but obviously very tired. She watched me walk out then I heard her make that humming noise then nothing. Brill brill brill.

P goes to bed for 7 every night. Ideally she is asleep by 7 or not long after. Weirdly (but wonderfully) she seems to keep different patterns during the week to weekends. Week days she is often awake at around 6:30 or thereabouts which is when we wake. Weekends it is 7:30 which is awesome.

I caved and bought p birthday presents today. I am starting to feel rotten about not making a fuss. DH is all "fuck that. It's a Tuesday night and she has no idea" but when I hear what other babies are getting for parties and so on I feel mean. So anyway, I bought her two new Julia Donaldson books and a new outfit. Her cousin has the same so it seems fair. We are going to my in laws this weekend so I imagine there will be merriment and cake then down to my parents the following weekend for more merriment and cake.

And in other news I have been gradually introducing more dairy into p's diet going from trace dairy to eventually lumps of cheese. Having been at it slowly for about 8 weeks I think I can declare her dairy tolerant! She has also had trace egg so my short number of days label checking may be over.

stunt!! I was going to ask that! When and why do they get pillows?

P moves such a massive amount in her sleep I can't think it would be very useful

Report
Passmethecrisps · 10/11/2013 19:37

And she is also a tummy sleeper

Report
TheDetective · 10/11/2013 19:42

Pillows are okay from 1.

I don't think we will bother as he doesn't seem like he needs one, also, he has progressed from a 'will only sleep like a plank on his back' to fetal position, and now, tummy sleeper.

But he roams like fuck around the cot, so I see no point.

When I take the sides off, he will get a pillow then. And I just hope he stops fucking roaming or I'll be up 9,000 times a night Hmm.

I had been wondering about bedding too. I feel bad when I pop Oscar into a bare cot at night. Especially as he is in his grobag so I don't even cover him with a blanket. Doesn't seem very cosy!

Passmethecrisps · 10/11/2013 19:46

I used to think the same chasing. Seems a bit bare especially when I like to have myself tucked in to my nose!

Report
TheDetective · 10/11/2013 19:46

Also, I suspect O would use his pillow as a leg up. Hmm

If you want a pillow, Ikea do pretty flat toddler sized ones. I have a little pillow case to match his bedding, for when the time comes Grin.

Report
Pikz · 10/11/2013 19:49

L would definitely use a pillow as a way to get out or a weapon

Report
ChasingDaisy · 10/11/2013 20:01

Oscar sleeps on his tummy but he tends to stay in the same position most of the night. I might get him a pillow for his birthday.

Pass Wine that is truly great news on the dairy. I'm introducing him via me and so far I can have chocolate, dairy in bread and pastry, KFC (contains milk powder), curry sauce with yogurt in, trace dairy in cooked stuff etc. I am going to try cheese this week. For us it all goes to pot post jags, when ill or teething but I'm up from eating it once to 2 or 3 times a week now. Too much and sleep - particularly settling after a night feed goes to pot. Hopefully by New Year I might be back onto dairy as normal and I can start him on it. I bet he'll love cheese. He can tolerate unlimited soy in my diet and regularly in his.

Have only just remembered he's meant to be trying his first full day in nursery tomorrow! Shock Am sad at the thought but I need to be working a couple of days a week if we're going to save up for stuff like the wood burner for the house.

Report
Passmethecrisps · 10/11/2013 20:11

Good luck with the nursery day - he has been fine for partial days so no reason why a full day wouldn't work just fine. Weird thought though.

I am delighted about the outcome of dairy. We started just before going on hols so I would know how careful I would need to be when eating out. She even had Nutella with no discernible impact. She did have some difficult nights for settling but they were before Nutella. Today she had a cheese and ham sandwich. Totally non-pluses by the cheese!

My kitchen tap won't stop dripping and it is driving me mad. Any idea how I fix it?

Report
TheDetective · 10/11/2013 20:34

Yep, call the LL chasing Grin. Seriously!

I don't know how to fix a leaky tap actually. We always have guys coming in at work fixing them. I should pay more attention clearly!

stunt you may be right. His sleep seems better and in fact he slept through on Friday night at my bloody MILs!! from 11pm til 8am apparently!!! He wouldn't settle in the cot but was in bed with her and slept through the fucking night!! Why not for me?!?!

Kid free tonight as mum and dad have them to help me relax as much as possible for my BP check tomorrow. I hope it's ok!!! I also seem to have a cold....I assume that's not a major issue??
