Feel for you on the cleaning wl- doesn't seem to matter how many times I clean within a second the dc's or dh have make it look messy again. A neighbour came round unexpectedly as her bunny had escaped and come into our garden and although I had done a massive clean the day before house looked like a bomb had hot it courtesy of the dc's being up a few hours. Very embarrassing. Felt like explaining but then she's had kids so probably understood.
We got dd her first pair of shoes today- growing up too fast. Walking quite well now but has yet to master getting to standing from the floor so if she falls has to find something to help pull herself up on so she can carry on. Only a matter of time though and her crawling days will be gone :(
Today also managed to eat a yogurt on her own with her spoon - where have our little babies gone!

Barbeasty · 18/11/2013 07:40

I feel you on the cleaning. I spent 3 days of my week off last month tidying and cleaning. You really wouldn't know it now. There are rooms I won't let A in because of the state on the floor.

DD tidied the lounge yesterday, in return for chocolate cake, and half an hour later she'd made it a mess again.

But hey, I'm off again next week, so I can spend all my time re cleaning and not doing fun prep for Christmas!

There's lots of low level stuff being done by both DC at the moment (A is emptying drawers and every so often traos his fingers, DD is "being helpful looking after him") so I have no idea when/how I will get to have a shower this morning. And I've given up on the idea of making it to Bounce and Rhyme at the library this morning.

Really I could do with going back to bed, maybe next week!

WLmum · 18/11/2013 09:36

So glad it's not just me that's embarrassed when people come round! Even my messiest/dirtiest housed friend has just a cleaner so I can't even console myself there!

How are you now beasty

WLmum · 18/11/2013 09:43

ddas that's impressive spoon skills!

WLmum · 18/11/2013 10:29

I'm having second thoughts about the nct sale - received the seller guidelines which are super stroppy and they'll take 35./.! Perhaps I'll just eBay instead.

halestone · 18/11/2013 13:26

Wow WL thats quite a percentage. I hope your DH is helping out more now.

Ddas i'm am also impressed with your DD eating from a spoon. H hasn't tried that yet but i think thats my fault as i haven't really given her chance to yet. I can't stand food being everywhere so i try to minimise the mess i think i'll have to let her try now.

Beasty i hope your next week off doesn't involve as much cleaning.

Utopian i hope your phone gets fixed soon.

Spotty i hope your feeling a little better todayThanks

I left them to it so I could get up and they were both in one piece when I came back down. We gave the library a miss, but we're just back from playgroup, which they both enjoyed.

I'll be able to be more on top of things in the new year. At the moment the days when I have time between getting home from work and collecting the DC I have to express a bottle for A. I'm going to stop that after Christmas, once A is 1 and doesn't need a bottle at nursery. That will be a good 30mins to an hour freed up.

And once he's 1 I'll start getting stricter at night, and start night weaning. It just feels wrong to do it when he's making up for the feeds he doesn't get in the day 4 days a week.

And WL what is it about chargers? A has broken a couple through chewing too.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 18/11/2013 16:18

My iPhone charger is never safe. I'm on my third since Jamie became mobile.

35% WL? That's outrageous Shock

We have tooth number 8 today, so he has all 8 front teeth now. I'm presuming that was the cause of the horrific wees and poos I've been coping with the last few days.

I've been to baby group this morning, J was a pain, flinging himself into a paddling pool they had set up to wash hands after playing with messy food. Then I had to go to town with a baby with soaking wet feet (I had a complete change of clothes with me except for socks) Hmm

I've bought some lovely brightly coloured tshirts from H&M, everywhere else seems to just have dull grey, navy, mustard ones at the minute.

FriendofDorothy · 18/11/2013 16:43

I have a proper snotty, grumpy baby today. Even the childminder commentated that he didn't want to be put down at all.

lazzaroo · 18/11/2013 18:03

Blimey WL that's a bit much. I'm sorting stuff for an NCT sale next weekend. I paid £10 for the table & now I'll keep whatever I make on the day.

Foul nappies here today. Maybe teeth.

We've had a couple of decent nights. I've been in a foul mood today though. Can't snap myself out of it.

My house is always a mess!

Is spotty okay?

ddas good spoon work. Baby lazza is getting very frustrated trying & making a huge mess everywhere!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 18/11/2013 18:18

Spotty's still in ITU Lazza she's in ketosis. She said she would be seeing her consultant today so fx they'll get it under control.

J is wailing, his teeth are killing him. We're watching back to back Peppa pig until the calpol takes hold and I can have my tea.

MrsNutella · 18/11/2013 19:17

WL they really want to take 35% off you for the things you sell?! That's outrageous! ShockShockShock Have to say I'd be looking elsewhere.

I've forgotten who was up to what... Some impressive spoon action going on! Very impressed DS likes to try and spoon stuff himself but doesn't always manage it Grin. Although even when I offer him something (spoon or lump of food) he still manages to flick it on the floor Hmm
Still no walking here, but some very cute wobbly standing. We also get lots of pointing and "da" wish I knew what he was pointing at half the time. But it is cute and he laughs lots when I copy him Smile

MrsNutella · 18/11/2013 19:20

Oh and DH has taught DS to throw a ball - sort of - which is lovely and cute but not something I really appreciate when DS is in his buggy...

Barbeasty · 18/11/2013 19:53

When I made A some cheese on toast for his tea, DD had "a really good idea mummy. I should have the soft bits, and Anthony can have the crusts."

She was made to watch Anthony eat his dinner, and she got the last soldier (after he looked straight at her and dropped it over the side of the chair!)

WLmum · 18/11/2013 20:18

lazza I did find an alternative sale that was £15 for the table but tbh I thought that was a bit steep too. Bit fed up really as I'd hoped to make a few quid but it hardly seems worth it.
I'm currently trapped trying to get T to bed - every time I take her off the boob she goes nuts. 5 more mins then its going to be a battle of wills, my boobs can't take any more dummying.

PurplePidjin · 18/11/2013 20:28

We're without income again

WLmum · 18/11/2013 20:34

Am going to lose my mind.

WLmum · 18/11/2013 20:35

Oh no pidj has dp lost his job?

WLmum · 18/11/2013 20:37

Nurofen administered. Bit more boob for now.

WLmum · 18/11/2013 20:59

Help me! I've been trying to get her to bed for an hour and a half. My boobs can't take anymore suckling, my back can't take anymore swaying, my ears can't take anymore screaming. I've been up since 5.30 and I've had enough.

PurplePidjin · 18/11/2013 21:07

Yup, lack of sales means no job SadAngryWine

PurplePidjin · 18/11/2013 21:11

WL nappy, open/close window, water, take off/put on a layer, check for trapped fingers/toes.

Turn on music, walk away for 5 minutes. Go back and reassure every 5 until she sleeps. If she looks like she's settling, stay and reassure. Only do this if you're absolutely sure it's temper or overtiredness Thanks

WLmum · 18/11/2013 21:18

She's asleep finally. It's a snotty cold and teeth so I wasn't up for cc in any form but basically she wants to dummy me all night which I can't do. I cuddled and rocked for comfort but bloody hell that was a battle.
Sorry to hear that pidj is he likely to be able to find something else? Is he fully recovered now? Flowers for you too!

PurplePidjin · 18/11/2013 21:47

Nope, scan today and the stress of everything mean his brain isn't much better than when it happens. He's only capable of working pt.
