Whoopee Seven! Congratulations!!! That is fabulous and I'm completely jealous. Channel some of that fertility my way so a. I get pg again soon, and b. that it's twins!
I loved Sherlock.
I missed the first series so have found them too, saw the first one last night and was mega-excited.
Good luck with house stuff Northern. Things are going slowly for us, but hopefully something / someone will get a poker shoved up it's/their ar$e to get things moving soon. We could really do with a second car with snow tyres before any of the white stuff arrives.
My new co car arrives tomorrow! But I'll be in Germany, so my DH will take delivery and be the first to drive it. (Only 3 weeks after hernia op, be'll be fine! Confused)
I'm getting a proper family car. Volvo v60. Super safe, and lots of estate-like room for child-fodder. Grin
Plus it's their new engine -diesel with emissions of only 104wotsits, and 70+ miles per gallon. But still 187 horses! It should save me over £100 a month in tax and fuel to what I pay now. (I really did my sums on this one, can you tell?!) it could've been 99 emission-wot sits, but I could not leave style out of it and went for the sportier looking version. A sexy Volvo estate. Grin

Christ seven you're a braver woman than I 4!!!!

DS woke up at 1 o'clock screaming his head off in my dazed confusion I thought it was time to get up Brought him to our room b4 i realised he then kicked me in the back for 20 minutes before I put him back in his own bed he was then whingeing again from six. DH was in a foul mood this morning shouting at him Trying to pick an argument with me he cannot cope with not getting enough sleep I cant remember him being this bad when DS was little but I dread it the next time round. It's another reason why I want to crack on with number two get all the unpleasantness out of the way.

Back to swimming with DS tomorrow it's been a month since we last made it to class with us being away or Christmas. I know he'll love it only been back in the office three days and I'm already looking forward to the weekend.

Oi I've been thinking about getting a company car but because I'm part-time the rental value I have per month doesn't stretch very far sorry mate to stick with my mazda. We desperately need to replace older car Our sofas because one of them has collapsed and is now being propped up by blocks of wood and we also need a new bed but we have no money so not sure how that's happening.

NorthernChinchilla · 09/01/2014 11:57

Wow, congratulations seven, brilliant news!

Please note that on the day I wondered who was going to be the first on the thread to get pregnant a second time after our Dec 11'ers, you did Grin

How lovely for you, it looked like you really wanted another, even if you weren't sure...and it seems a common theme on the pregnancy boards that if you weren't sure but ended up pregnant that you were sure really Smile

Sod about the champagne though, I'd still have a few sips seeing as you have a double celebration!

Urgh figgy, it's crap when the brain goes on auto pilot like that, but don't know what your DH is grumbling about, that amount of sleep is easily bearable, and you survive!

Sexy Volvo Estate. Sexy Volvo Estate. Combining beautifully with Karen Millen dress....Wink It's a brave step for you Oi...what colour is it going to be (can you tell I don't drive?)

mopsytop · 09/01/2014 12:06

Congrats seven!!

We are back. Had to get up at 3.45 for 6.30 flight urrrgghh. Wrecked.

HopAlongOnItsOnlyChristmas · 09/01/2014 13:34

Congrats seven

would go mental if I had another child, probably

BobaFetaCheese · 09/01/2014 13:46

Thanks congratulations Seven!!! Lovely news! How far along are you?

for mopsy

Northen, good to hear I'm not the only non-driver in the universe, most people look at me like I've just spat on their heads when I tell them I don't drive, throw that in with the (mostly) tee-totalness & I'd only need to return to vegetarianism to be a complete social leper Grin

Ds1 is starting preschool tomorrow, one afternoon a week (to help with his social skillz). Waaaaah.

TheOnlySeven · 09/01/2014 15:51

Thanks all. I'm only 6 weeks so very early days .

I'm another non-driver.

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 09/01/2014 16:18

Work today.

People are so stupid and annoying!

FalalalalalalaFiggy · 09/01/2014 17:50

I could not not drive ah the freedom and opportunities it brings Grin

Just had a kick ass burrito for tea .........so good!!

Seven what do u think your mum is going to say? I remember her kicking off last time didn't she?

Faffin · 09/01/2014 20:06

Congrats seven. Hats off to you, I barely cope with two DC's! Had cuddles with a friend's 3 week old DD4 today. All very lovely, but happy to say I was not in least bit broody!

I had a very therapeutic toy cull yesterday and donated the things that don't get played with any more to nursery, which made their day.

I may have successfully de-dummied DS tonight...don't want to speak too soon though!

Hope the move gets sorted soon northern

NorthernChinchilla · 09/01/2014 20:07

Oh gosh yes, I remember too figgy. How's your DH taken the news seven, is he happy about it? Hope your Mum will be positive in the end.

What happened at work today hop? Now hopefully aethel has soothed you, have a good vent of the ol' spleen to fully recover. But yes, in general, people = aaaaaaaaaaaaargh.

Grin Boba. Yep, I know just what you mean. In my sector, everyone but everyone drives (for most it's a requirement of the job) and so non-drivers are unheard of. I have seriously considered telling people I have a medical condition so I can't drive, as the reactions can be so OTT.

Good to see you back mopsy, hope you're in bed rather than reading this Smile Was it a good break with family and friends?

Got a phonecall today from the vendors' agents (who have actually been bloody good) to say that both other people in the chain could do the 21st. I phoned my solicitor to confirm and....
....nothing. I've heard nothing all day having been on tenterhooks. As I will be tomorrow.

Sigh

FalalalalalalaFiggy · 10/01/2014 09:31

Another early morning with cries for bics and peppa from 6am Angry its my non working day too so mega Angry

DS has decided he doesn't like the gruffalo he calls it the monster Grin

Off shopping and swimming soon then vet with skunk face as she's not eating seems like she can't her cough getting worse too she'll be 9 in may I suspect this is the beginning of the end Hmm

mopsytop · 10/01/2014 13:07

I get the asking (whinging) for peppa every morning too figgy, even though I've never let her watch in the morning and well she knows it! Is v. annoying. Tears, clinging to me, then holding out her arms and wailing 'maaammmaaa' when I dropped her at nursery earlier
... felt awful Sad

QueenofClean · 10/01/2014 16:04

Northern hope the exchange happens soon.

I have a teething Sky...full of cold and not sleeping well. She was happy watching Peppa Pig in bed this morning whilst I had a keep me awake shower.

I also brought 2 more Xmas presents yesterday. A paint your own piggy bank for each of the girls £2 knocked down from £5 in Asda.

Car been fixed. We had a flood in the boot due to a seal going...£200 bill we could of done without.

What is everyone having for dinner tonight? I have chicken and need inspiration.

Aethelfleda · 10/01/2014 16:29

With us it's "AAAAAARRRRR!!!!!" Said while miming a pirate sword-swing with gusto. Meaning "put Swashbuckle on the cbeebies iPlayer THIS INSTANT, Mother!"

Don't worry Mopsy the moment you're gone she'll be nicking the other kid's biscuits and dancing around the room quite happily :)

Aethelfleda · 10/01/2014 16:34

Inspiration for chicken:

1)slowcook mild curry: brown a few chopped up onions, joint chicken and brown it, stir in curry paste/spices and them add water/natural yoghurt/coconut milk. Chop and add in whatever veg is kicking around. Slow simmer in the oven for 1-2 hours on 180.

  1. chicken in wine sauce gravy

  2. roast chicken portions with cheesy mash and steamed veg with dipping sauce

  3. chicken chunky winter soup with pasta?

  4. shredded hot chicken wraps with mayo, cheese and lettuce? (If you have wraps in the cupboard)

Aethelfleda · 10/01/2014 16:38

Oh yes northern did you hear anything?

QueenofClean · 10/01/2014 17:46

Aethel - thanks Grin in end sending DH for a Chinese.

OiMissus · 10/01/2014 19:10

Am sat in Dusseldorf airport. Yawn. What a way to spend Friday evening!
The diet and alcohol abstention is going well. I sat down to dinner with 8 people last night. I was the only one who didn't drink or have a starter.
(Where's the smug, haloed emoticon?)
Then I went to my hotel room and did a plank. 1min20!! Getting better!Smile

TheOnlySeven · 10/01/2014 19:28

Well done oi. I'd say that's an impressive plank.

Excellent work on the Christmas shopping queen

It wasn't my mum, I've a suspicion it could have been xiao. DH is happy but says he's in denial :o

NorthernChinchilla · 10/01/2014 19:40

He won't be in denial when you start showing in a couple of months... Grin Ah, sounds like you're both really happy tho totally insane, obvs DP is one of four, and if I remember mopsy you or your Mum is one of six? You'll never be bored, certainly! I'm just Sad that we have to wait a couple of years, as we simply can't afford to have two in nursery at the same time.

NorthernChinchilla · 10/01/2014 20:12

Really hope skunky's OK figgy, and that a few anti-b's can sort her out.

And exchange...

...didn't happen!

This time, because someone realised that the contracts at the top of the chain only had one signature, not the two of the (divorcing) owners they needed! How, how can two sets of solicitors have missed the fact that the contract did not have all parties' signatures- this is Law 101 ffs!

And to make it even more marvellous, the person whose signature is needed...is in Canada!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apparently they are trying to contact her to get her to agree that some signs on her behalf, but if they don't get it sorted Monday then we we'll have to move our completion date, again.

Apologies for the exclamations marks, need more Wine

mopsytop · 10/01/2014 20:41

Jesus Northern, you must be raging!

I'm one of six btw, you were right. My mum is one of eight Shock

Just got home. Back to reality with a vengeance Sad. Absolute mountain of work to get through by end of month. Urrgghh. Plus basically of the boozles so no liquid consolation. Bah humbug.

Good work on the plank Oi!! At the mo twenty seconds is my max. Well impressed... Also excellent work on booze abstinence.

Hello everyone else! I'm back! Too lazy to properly catch up but hope you're all well and raring to go in 2014.

Mr. Mopsy and I had one (lovely) but non protected shag on NYE... my boobs are feeling big. Errrrrrrr... BUT I am a fatser after Christmas excess so prob just lard. Lardy boobs. Attractive.

mopsytop · 10/01/2014 20:43

off the booze

I can actually use English prepositions. Writing on the phone is a pain in the arse!
