Yup, pretty pissed off. I just want my house with my garden, for me and DS. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Will now grow up Grin

So will you be POAS just to be sure the mopsy...?

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 10/01/2014 21:06

Sorry the house situation is still a mess nothern bloody useless solicitors!

Well done resisting the food/alcohol temptation oi

I feel like I say 'we don't whine, we ask nicely and use our words' on repeat. A thousand times again. At the minute it's 'want fooood'. I really don't know if he's hungry (and has worms or hollow legs) or he's saying it because every time he mentioned the word food over Christmas, some well meaning relative pressed a biscuit/piece of chocolate into his hand. I've been quite firm on breakfast/snack/lunch/snack/dinner this week, and snacks have all be fruit, veg or a couple of breadsticks. He seems to have stopped whinging for 'choc-lit but-tons!!' which is good because I have eaten them all.

I'm hungry. Dieting is shite. Eaten plenty of healthy food this week - nice salads and fruit and veg, not too many carbs and plenty of protein. I'm fucking dying for a massive bowl of icecream. Must. Resist.

My period is due Monday anyway so if it isn't there I might. But to be fair I think I'm just a bit of a lard ass Blush . Been tempted for ages to get a v fab and expensive blender for smoothies etc. Think I might dig into our (carefully hoarded) wedding money and splash out. Then I can make yummy smoothies w lots of fruit/veg for breakfast on the go. Dry cereal doesn't cut it and I leave so early the days I commute (6.10) that I can't face eating before I leave. Might help me fight the flab that is encroaching steadily and surely...

OiMissus · 10/01/2014 22:01

Ah the woes of the house- seller. DH's house partner also left the country so will have to be tracked down for signatures... (Really irritating!) but the solicitor will email the docs to be signed, so it shouldn't take too long. But we aren't waiting to move, so we don't feel your pain.
Hope it moves along quickly.
Lardy boobs. Lovely! Mine are not lardy, so probably look odd when on the sme body as the lardy thighs, lardy tum and lardy arse! ooh Mopsy, are you quietly hoping that you are pg? Grin
Have a fab weekend everyone!
And remember nothing tastes as good as skinny feels wine. Oh how I long for wine! Just 20 piddly little days to go!Confused

FalalalalalalaFiggy · 10/01/2014 22:06

Oh northern fingers crossed for next week!! Skunky has been given some high protein high calorie goo to try gave her eat as does seem to be she wants to eat just cant for whayever reasonHmm she's going to be sedated on Monday to see what's going on, if she doesn't eat she is going to die she might die from the anaesthetic as she is old, she screamed the vets down though and bit the vet and dh so obviously can muster her strength when needed Grin just not what we need as funnily enough u can't insure a skunk so gonna cost a bomb!!

Blimey mopsy that'd be some start to the year wouldn't it maybe 2 bfp's in 1 week on the thread!!

Today is first day of diet I honestly want to gnaw my own hand off Confused

NorthernChinchilla · 11/01/2014 07:20

DS, with this week of half 5 wake ups you're really spoiling us Hmm

We've had that figgy, where they don't come round from the anaesthetic- apparently it's more common in rabbit-type animals, so chins too. Glad Skunky has clearly got some 'oomph' when needed though!

So much to do today- need to get the shopping done, DP needs to do the hoovering and take DS to the park, and I am going round custody suites, on a Saturday to develop a training programme. Do. Not. Ask. Grin
Tomorrow it's the final 'going round the house with a black bin bag to get stuff for the dump' day, and then friends round for dinner. I'm also going to sacrifice some chickens....

FalalalalalalaFiggy · 11/01/2014 07:36

Wonderful DS up 7am this morning with a cough from hell day in front of the tv for us me thinks. Lots of crap housework to do, thank you cards for DS Xmas and bday presents from family friends (need to look out the list of who gave what).

OiMissus · 11/01/2014 10:37

Sorry to hear about the skunk, Figgy.

FalalalalalalaFiggy · 11/01/2014 20:03

Well we've had 2 lovely toilet related things happen today:

1st he threw a mega strop at nappy change this morning wanting to sit on his potty and "do a wee wee in there"
So I let him off his change table and he ran off into bathroom immediately proceeded to wee everywhere and then dance in it Angry

2 he did a poo in his nappy came over to tell me (great work) then proceeded to stick his hand down the back of his trousers into his Nappy covering it in not too firm poo. Not knowing whether to grab him or the wipes first I sort of grabbed him and was left stood with him dangling until worked out what to do next Blush

At least the house is hoovered, washed and tidier worlds end on DVD tonight and homemade curry eaten.

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 11/01/2014 20:12

DS looking decidedly peaky this afternoon. All three of us took a two hour nap on the sofa after a trip to the park. Just put him down and he was fidgeting like mad and poking his ear. Please don't let him be getting ill.

figgy makes you look forward to potty training doesn't it Wink

Aaargh we have an enormous bill to come, we have lots of halogen downlights in our house (it's less than twenty years old). Last week The bathroom light mains wires melted from the sheer heat of the halogen bulbs and shorted out the circuit Shock we've decided we need to to replace them all with safe non-nasty-heaty LED lights. We have a lot more than a dozen of the blighters, it's gonna be hundreds of pounds total. But can't live with the risk, I'm just not comfortable having seen the mess of melted wire and an electrical fire is NOT with chancing. Grumble. Love our house space but wish it was an older one not made of frigging chipboard, plasterboard and halogen lights!!

Not ready for pants yet but am like you lot slowly working on the potty stuff. Joy.

NorthernChinchilla · 11/01/2014 22:24

All I say is thank F for nurseries.... will be so glad that they're helping us with the potty training bit. DS is miles off potty training, I've noticed the odd grab in the frontal area, but that's about it- another 6 months if not year at least.

aethel, downlights are the work of the devil. How bloody terrifying that they melted though, that's appalling- surely the electrician that did them should have had some idea of the amount of power they could take?! I'd be terrified too and thinking of going back to candles. VG idea to replace, but horrible bill.

We've had curry tonight too figgy and enjoyed World's End the other week. How's Skunky doing?

FalalalalalalaFiggy · 11/01/2014 22:29

Northern I'm with you I might ship DS off to live with cm over summer she can send him home when he's potty trained. Grin skunky won't eat the food but we've managed to get her to eat some fish and chicken and her tablets crushed up in chopped raisins.

I liked the worlds end Simon Pegg is a great in it!!

mopsytop · 12/01/2014 16:15

I just made the yummiest apple cake... Just flour, butter, sugar, an egg, dash of milk, lots of diced cooking apple. YUM. And easy peasy! Minimopsy is a big fan!

FalalalalalalaFiggy · 12/01/2014 17:35

My diet has gone well and truly out the window today AF has arrived and so am eating lard (white carbs, Jaffa cakes and a gallon of fruit pastilles) to cheer me up. My cycle is all over the shop it's getting earlier every month the last 4 months it's been 20th, 18th, 15th and now 12th no rhyme nor reason to it. Angry

Last Sherlock tonight!!!!

QueenofClean · 12/01/2014 17:47

Mopsy - how much flour etc...will try that Smile

TheOnlySeven · 12/01/2014 20:03

aethel how terrifying that they melted, definitely get them replaced ASAP.

figgy glad skunky is eating. I have to ask though how one arty did you come about having a skunk as a pet?

mopsy you didn't answer if you wanted to be pregnant?!

DD1 has been doing a good attempt at potty training herself. She wears pull ups and happily takes herself to the big toilet, she won't use the potty anymore, I think because she's copying DS, but does still wet her pull ups as well. She loves wearing Peppa pig knickers when I let her, and will sometimes wear them for a couple of hours with no accidents. She was whining to wear them this morning so I gave in, cue two trouser changes in less than an hour. Sometimes I think she's ready but others it just seems like a stupid idea.

I've been organising a charity quiz night for this coming Friday which is going really well. Been given around 30 raffle prizes and got 14 teams so 56 people coming. I'll be glad when it's over though, my brain is a mess with everything I need to remember to do and I'm terrified I'll forget something really important on the night!

TheOnlySeven · 12/01/2014 20:04

How on arty??! How on earth?

mopsytop · 12/01/2014 20:18

I think so seven. Well, yes I'd be thrilled. But I'm stressing about my career. It isn't good timing. But j really want another baby and it is probably always a terrible time for my career given that I'm an early-career academic with no permanent contract yet and nearly 36. I can't realistically wait until I've a permanent job as it might not happen anytime soon. And what if I wait and then don't get pregnant? So... I think we should maybe just start trying.

mopsytop · 12/01/2014 20:19

Oh but my period started!

mopsytop · 12/01/2014 20:24

Queen, 8 oz flour, 4 butter, 4 sugar, 1 large egg, dash of milk, one big cooking apple diced very fine.

Aethelfleda · 12/01/2014 21:20

Mopsy, young lady, I'd suggest starting on regular folic acid once-a-day (as then will Be there in your system when needed) and then in about a week get jiggy with it :)
Good luck!

I'm engaging in a house tidy/declutter from tomorrow cos the diet thing isn't really doing it for me
Anyone care to join?

mopsytop · 12/01/2014 21:33

Has pregnacare got folic in it aethel? Cos I've a few left over from Minimopsy...

TheOnlySeven · 13/01/2014 00:24

Yes, check they're still in date though!

I'd love to join in a house declutter, not sure I have time though!

QueenofClean · 13/01/2014 07:06

Good luck Mopsy and thanks for the recipe.

Seven Sky is like that with the potty too...she'll get there one day Smile

Aethel...I've gradually been de cluttering my house had after several tip runs and charity shop runs it's looking good.
