Ok here is the new thread. Quite impressed that I managed to do this as I usually fail miserably.

Hello Sallie glad dd2 is doing so well, and that you are still with dh - I hope he is being wonderful to you.

Hope Rachel will eat nicely today - she had never spat it before - so came as a shock! I hope this is not the start of meal time battles!!! Taking her to be weighed later. She is very active - has now mastered crawling on all 4s and climbs up every thing to walk round - but no solo missions as yet!!!

Simplyred · 27/07/2006 17:32

Feeling a failure. Rachel has gained no weight in 6 weeks. The HV was none to worried as she has rolls of baby fat - but I'm still down about it. She is wearing 9-12 months clothes as she should - she is very active and long - but it can't be right that she is not weighing more - can it? Shes 20lb. The house is a mess - the washing on the line is soaked and I'm off to eat chocolate.

mummyhill · 27/07/2006 17:39

SR - if she is happy and active don't worry about it as long as she's not losing weight she is fine. Their weight gain slows down significantly when they start crawling and cruising. You are doing a great job stop beating yourself over the head with a stick hun and have a hug to go with your chocolate.

Thanks Mummyhill - I get worried when I see other babes of Rachels age now weigh 28lbs+. But looking back ds weighed 28lb when he was 22 months - and hes big and strong now! Thankfully no more food spitting today - think I'd have cryed if she had! Its operation beef up from now on!!!

mummyhill · 27/07/2006 20:50

Do any of you remember Arabica who had to leave us fairly early on the antenatal threads?

She has had a little girl see here

wabbitt · 28/07/2006 03:25

That's just lovely news mh, I just left a note despite not getting to 'know' her first time round.

SR - no worries about the weight gain - ds's is very sporadic too and there's nothing wrong with his appetite!

he's just 20lb and we've just bought him a front facing chair for the first time.

Hi YCH, and Sallie

PiccadillyCircus · 28/07/2006 06:41

I was so pleased for Arabica .

No idea how much Alice weighs - suppose I could get her weighed and find out. Would mean finding her red book though . As she still fits in the infant carrier, she's staying in that as I need to work out how best to do next stage car seats (DS still in 9 months - 4 year one, we have two cars, don't really want to buy two more forward facing ones, but concerned about safety of 9 month - 11 year seats as which reports not very optimistic about them).

Hope DS will stay asleep for a while - he's been waking too early and getting tired (naturally). Alice also waking too early but at least she sleeps during the day .

Looks like the hot hot weather may be coming to an end here, although it is good at giving this impression .

PiccadillyCircus · 28/07/2006 06:43

wabbitt, is it your sleep or C's that was keeping you up in the night? I saw your post to Arabica and your post on this thread were at ratehr unsociable hours .

mummyhill · 28/07/2006 07:04

Morning all.

Piccadilly - Wabbitt is a bit of a night owl.

Simplyred · 28/07/2006 08:34

Hello!

Hello - rachels in her forward facing car seat - her legs were hanging out the maxi.

Urrr - Rachel has a runny bum - 6 in 24 hours! but she is her normal happy self! They only different thing she has eaten was watermelon?!

Raggydoll · 28/07/2006 08:37

pc - apparently the 9mth to 11 yr carseat i have just bought did very well in crash tests. it is the britax evolva 123 and cost 80 from m/c.

mummyhill · 28/07/2006 09:37

Ohh bless some fruits do have that effect on the digestive system. Melon does this to me as well but I can't resist it!!

OP posts:
Simplyred · 28/07/2006 15:07

I'm wondering if rachels bum exploits have hidden her weight gain - but I'm probably in denial and Im just a poor mother!

Was warned off giving rachel low sugar jam, low fat spreads etc. So have stocked up on full fat stuff - now worrying that I'll give her a sweet tooth and she'll need Slimming World before long! ahhhhh - at least she can join at reduced rates!!! sorry thats not funny

mummyhill · 28/07/2006 16:18

Don't panic just remember everything in moderation.

OP posts:
Simplyred · 28/07/2006 16:27

Thanks mh - worried about rachels upset tummy and desire to feed her loads!!!

Must chill!!!

jaamy · 28/07/2006 17:05

Raggydoll - we are going to get a Britax Evolva 123 too for DD1 and then DD2 will have her Britax Renaissance. We will just get one though and swap both seats between two cars. Bit of a pain but they're sooo £££. Just waiting for mothercare or Halfords or somewhere to have a carseat 10% off day!! Have no idea how much DD2 weighs but she still fits into her baby carrier.
Fab news about Arabica and baby.
Still very hot here - no sign of any rain.
Hope everyone ok, though melting! x

Simplyred · 29/07/2006 09:09

Ahhh morning!

Had hardly any sleep - ds had nightmares and dd (apparently it was a really terrible one that we went to Toys are Us and were chased by robots) and Rachel had a runny nappy at 5am. Want to crawl back to bed - but some hope!

Going to contact nhs direct if rachel is runny again... but she is perfectly well in all other ways and there are several hours between runs - think I gave her too much fruit on Wednesday/Thursday.

jaamy · 29/07/2006 23:53

SR - hope Rachel's bum was a bit better today. As long as she is ok in herself - I think you'd know if she was feeling bad. NHS direct would probably just tell you to make sure she is drinking fluids.

Simplyred · 30/07/2006 15:24

Hello - yes thanks jammy. Rachel is down to one runny bum in the last 24 hours - rather than 7 yesterday!!! NHS did say to keep feeding her as normal and offer her loads of drinks. They said to book a routine gp appointment next week if it continues - I think its teething she has 6 all comming together!

Hows your foot jaamy?

mummyhill · 30/07/2006 19:33

oh SR hugs to your little one.

OP posts:
Simplyred · 30/07/2006 22:00

Thanks mh - I think rachels bum is much better! we had a family gathering earlier and every one told her how beautiful she is...not biased at all!!

Simplyred · 31/07/2006 12:54

Good afternoon - how is everyone?

Sallie · 31/07/2006 13:37

Re carseats - we bought ds (our first child) a jane isofix booster seat recently which is superb - from Newcastle prams - think it was called the Indy plus. Other two carseats are isofix and I have to say that they really do feel much more secure than the standard seatbelt attached ones. Of course you need a car with isofix fittings but loads have them as standard these days....just a thought anyway....

PiccadillyCircus · 31/07/2006 13:38

Hello - am combining lunch and mumsnetting .

Our house is full at the moment as my sister and her boyfriend are staying with us for a week. They're about to buy a house about 15 minutes from us and have moved out of old flat. DH and I are hopeful of some babysitting .

Alice continues to wake at night. Yawn.

Poor DS had a nightmare (Alice woke at midnight, he woke at 1am, she woke at 2am and I'm sure she woke again....) about an elephant. he knows about dreams now and once he had calmed down he was able to say "Bad dream, elephant pushing me. I was cross". I found it a bit funny .

18th August meeters, do we want to CAT each other, or start a new thread or something?

jaamy · 31/07/2006 15:05

SR - glad to hear that Rachel's on the recovery road. No wonder her bum's sore if 6 teeth are coming through all at once. DD2 has 6 teeth but have all come through one at a time and don't thin kshe's suffered too much. And of course everyone was oggling over Rachel at your family meet up, so they should!
Foot was healing nicely thanks, until I bumped it again...these flaming size 7 clown feet of mine are no end of trouble s have just this morning been able to squeeze foot into proper shoes. Just as well as it's raining up here!
Sallie - I'd love an isofix car seat. I really hate the faffing around with our car seats when we switch cars. But though HD's car is brand new, mine is nearly 4 years old and, I'm afraid, not isofix-able!
