Ok here is the new thread. Quite impressed that I managed to do this as I usually fail miserably.

Idris - can mummyhill borrow your DH? And then can I have him after she's finished with him?

jaamy · 24/08/2006 14:09

BTW Happy Birthday to you both in advance as I will almost definitely forget nearer the time. Where's everybody else gone?

IdrisTheDragon · 24/08/2006 14:11

He'll be worn out after all that .

But we only moved house nearly 18 months ago and it's only taken that long to start decorating .

jaamy · 24/08/2006 14:22

we STILL haven't decorated one of our bedrooms after 6.5years!

jaamy · 24/08/2006 14:23

oh, no sorry. 7.5 years!

mummyhill · 24/08/2006 16:44

someone slap me I have started trying to re-arange our room forgetting just how much stuff was in there no we won't get to bed before midnight neither will the kids.

I tried to sort out our room the other day while the kids were watching tv and ended up putting most of it back again as I ran out of time. Our house has just got white paint on all the walls as we have had so much building work done in the past 10 years, every now and then I get the urge to paint but then the kids come in and thats the end of that! Sorry I seem to not be about but I tend to grab 2 mins when I can... currently just put Joe to bed the rest are downstairs destroying the place no change there. Only fun I had today was taking them all to docs with me as I had let Joe's bottom has got to such a bad state that he has horrible thrush (believe it or not it has never happened before so stupid mare that I am I didn't realise until it was too late) Will have to consol self by eating shed loads of choc when the rest are in bed. Hope everybody else's day went well

mummyhill · 24/08/2006 18:58

Well dh walked in in a foul mood took one look at the house didn't say a word had his shower, kissed kids went out to karate leaving a cloud of smoke behind. I am assuming he left in a worse mood than he arrived. I feel like shit.

ych · 24/08/2006 19:06

Oh Mummyhill don't feel like that. I'm sending lots of chilled out vibes to your DH, he will maybe karate chop all his negativity out!

Take heart in the fact that you are not alone...its been one of those days

ralusadajo · 24/08/2006 19:22

Actually now I think about it, its been one of those weeks.... at least your dh can karate chop his frustrations believe it or not mine likes a good hoover and dust which makes me feel like sh*t as its usually after I have spent an age tidying up!!

IdrisTheDragon · 25/08/2006 10:53

The living room was ORANGE when I came back home.

easy jet orange .

It has now been covered up in white covering up paint.

Not sure that DH should be allowed to choose any other paint colours .

mummyhill · 25/08/2006 11:00

Nice maybe I shan't be borowing him after all

OP posts:
IdrisTheDragon · 25/08/2006 12:20

I would only advise it if you buy the paint yourslef .

jaamy · 25/08/2006 17:31

Idris - do you think he was doing the usual "man thing", ie "Do a rubbish job and they'll never ask again!"
Mummyhill - booo to your DH. I really think you should have at least one night away from the house/hubby, etc. I know, easier saud than done.
My DH is still a cripple with his left arm completely out of action when he's at home - apparently not enough to keep him off work though. So I am taking my mum with me and the DDs this weekend to my aunt's house (there's a bit of an age gap between DM and DA) so I can relax and DM (insists) will watch the the bambinos. Quite handy as she doesn't drink anyway. DH will then be left to wallow in his own pity!
ralusadajo - I take solice in chocolate but it doesn't last long in this house and often the DDs don't settle until late by which time I can't be bothered to go out and get any.

IdrisTheDragon · 27/08/2006 22:12

Where is everyone ?

jaamy · 28/08/2006 08:25

"only jaamy" ... gee thanks idris!!

IdrisTheDragon · 28/08/2006 11:52

Sorry .

Won't try to make it sound better as I know I would only be digging myself a deeper hole .

But where is everyone else - jaamy is a wonderful lovely amazing person, but we could enlarge the party a bit Gin.

IdrisTheDragon · 28/08/2006 11:53

Party obviously has a lot of gin in it .

jaamy · 28/08/2006 12:34

Thank you Idris - you are forgiven. Do you think everyone else is on that beach? Or perhaps they're off out for the bank holiday.
I have a bottle of malibu here that my mum brought me back from boznia! Haven't been tempted to attach a message throw it in to the sea yet.
Since we've decided to have a lazy day (as DH is largely incapacitated) I may crack it open later once I've polished off all other alcohol (and chocolate) in the house. I intend to get quite drunk today. Is that irresponsible when the only other carer in the house is a one armed wonder?? Oh well, don't think anyone on the thread knows where I live to report me anyway!
Enjoy your gin, Idris!

ralusadajo - Welcome, I am a newbee too and everyone has made me very welcome, it's a really good site, glad i found it!! I am 27 with 1 dd and as you can see from above live in Surrey with dd - 1 on 21/9/05 (where did that go??!!) and dp, I work partime for the railway and that is generally when I spend most of my time here (naughty me don't tell the boss!!)

mummyhill · 29/08/2006 11:26

Welcome back Lozza.

I am not a happy mummy. I suggested to DH at 7 (as I was putting the kids to bed)last night that we phone the police as there was a group of youths tazing up and down the road on scramblers (not road legal with no silencers on the exhausts and no helmets. He said no not to make a fuss else it will get worse. Then at midnight we were all woken up by them pratting about again. Was too busy sdettling the kids to think about phoning the police so DH said that I should phone them and log a complaint about anti social behaviour this morning. I rang them and was told basically that they weren't interested nexttime phone when they are causing the trouble. So next time I intend to call 999.
