Ok here is the new thread. Quite impressed that I managed to do this as I usually fail miserably.

Hi all, I'm really excited as I'm going to see the Sugababes in Edinburgh tonight with my friends. It's my first girley night out in ages and I'm even staying at my friends house so I don't have to worry about getting home. It's the first time I've ever left J all night! It's pouring with rain though so I'll probably look like a fuzzy mess by the time I get to the concert!
I think we are getting J a swing for his first birthday and some sort of ride-on thingy with wheels. We've also seen a great fire engine that makes lots of noises in ELC, which we will prob get as DH is a firefighter! We're just having friends and family to the house on the saturday after his birthday which is wed the 13th.
Hope you all have a great weekend.
Is anyone else starting to think about when you're going to have baby no 2?!?

mummyhill · 18/08/2006 15:38

Am trying to convince dh to go for number 3 in a few years time. So far he is having non of it though.

HI Mummyhill!
Glad you had a nice time at your picnic. Say HI to wabbitt for me next time you speak to her. Missing her posts.
YCH - hope the sugababes were cool and you made the most of your freedom. We WILL have another DC (no3) but in a couple of years, poss when DD2 in nursery school and DD1 in school as I'm a really poorly sick pg woman and wouldn't be fair on the other 2. Felt I really negelected DD1 when I was expecting DD2. Also, couldn't afford to put 3 in daycare.
We're about to go out and get DD2's first shoes. Can't believe that she's there already. May stop off somewhere nice for lunch too.
DH has done his arm in so am struggling a bit with everything. Don't know how single mums cope (Wabbitt!).
HOpe everyone is having a good weekend, despite the weather.
x

Hello everyone .

Been away for the weekend (Friday night with DH's parents and Saturday night in Stratford with some friends from school who I haven't seen for AGES). It was nice to get a full nights sleep with no interuptions on Saturday night.

Am working from home today so I can combine work with sorting out the house a bit (DH was sadly complaining this morning that he didn't have enough socks...)

ONe of the friends I met is having her first baby in about a month's time - she is due on Alice's birthday . Would be funny if they shared a birthday.

Right, better get back to work (although will probably be dipping in I should imagine).

IdrisTheDragon · 21/08/2006 08:20

No imminent plans for number 3 - maybe in a few years time but I feel pretty much that our family is complete . Although I am getting vague broody feelings when I see small babies .

ych · 21/08/2006 19:17

The concert was great, lots of drink beforehand, lots of dancing then lots of pizza afterwards. As I stayed at my friends house I never got up til 9.30am the next day, it was bliss!
Just found out on Friday night that one of my close friends is pregnant after trying for 16 months so I'm really pleased for her. My sister in law is due this week so we're really looking forward to having another little baby in the family. Think this is probably why I'm getting broody again, maybe a 2-2 1/2 year age gap might be nice.

IdrisTheDragon · 22/08/2006 14:28

Psychomum5 got one of the bottles of vodka you sent out for me. Avalou has received one of you bottles of white wine. I am still waiting to receive a mumsnet bottle have had plenty of BMC ones. I am now sending out join mn and bmc messages as I joined bmc when we were having issues overhere.

Glad our bottles of alcohol turned up .

hmm - appraisal at work soon. ie at 2:30pm Focusing on the future rather than the past as I have hardly been there too much over the last year .

mummyhill · 23/08/2006 17:26

Sitting here on the beach watching the gulls. Pop my head into postnatal ward to watch tumbleweeds drift accross the corridor. Hope you are all ok.

Is this a chat anybody can join whose baby was born last sept or are you all really good friends who chay regularly? Sorry I am MN virgin so no idea how these things work!! Will not be offended if I have butted in and will butt out!!

IdrisTheDragon · 23/08/2006 21:03

The more the merrier .

I have a DS, Benjamin born in November 2003 and also a DD, Alice born on 20th September last year.

I went back to work about 6 weeks ago and so far things are going fine.

Once Alice sleeps through the night, things will be even better .

beatie · 23/08/2006 21:17

Hi ralusadajo. Please do join us.

I've been a bit absent recently but hope to become a regular again once DH goes back to work. He's been under my feet all summer as he is a teacher

I'm 32 and live in West Sussex. I have a 3.9 daughter and I also have a baby called Alice. born on 20th September

I'm not currently working but I'm studying slowly for a Masters degree and hope to go back to work part time in 07/08 once dd1 is at school.

jaamy · 23/08/2006 22:11

Hi ralusadajo - you're more than welcome to join us. I've known (virtually) most of these gals for knocking on 18 months and still didn't understand the bottles thing! What were you lot going on about? I could be doing with a bottle of something!
Anyway, ralusadajo I'm 33, living near Liverpool with DH, DDs Jessica 2.7 and Abigail (dob 10/10/05). I'm on this thread because DD2 was due 24/9/05 and I couldn't bare to leave all the lovely sept ladies behind. I work mon-wed in marketing. Do you work? have you got any other los? Whereabouts in the country are you (crossing fingers that you're somewhere up here near me!!)
Idris - hope your appraisal went ok.
Beatie - bet you'll miss DH when he's not there.
Mummyhill - watch out for those gulls - they could dive bomb (bomb dive?) you!?!

jaamy · 23/08/2006 22:46

Aha...now I get the bottle references!

IdrisTheDragon · 24/08/2006 08:19
Smile
ralusadajo · 24/08/2006 08:33

Hi, thanks for the words of welcome! I'm 38 (very old), live in Kent (sorry j) and have far too many los...dd1 is 9.3, dd2 is 7.9, ds1 is 6.2, ds2 is 4.3 and baby will be 1 on 26/9/06 I know it seems odd for me to be on here but you lose the new mum network the more los you have as you keep in contact with the newmums from dd1 and not do antenatal groups etc after that. The only people I know who have new babies are people at school and as you will find when your los go to school the playground is a very different kettle of fish (can be back stabbbing bitch fest) unless you look like a model and brown-nose the head teacher As I am quite the opposite it would be nice to chat to people whose babies are the same age as ds3 and who don't hate me because I'm not fashionable, have too many kids, dh has good job, kids too well bahaved, got ok car, don't wear designer labels.....sorry bit of a rant there I do have some very good friends who I meet in the playground!!! (I am not some demented billy-no-mates)I don't work as have spent the last 10 years being pregnant and didn't really have much of a career before dd1, I have started to think about life after los as I am sure I will be bored by the time Joe (is it ok to put in his name?)goes to school in 4 years time
Nice to meet you all I look forward to getting to hear all your chat in the future....now back to the bottles....

mummyhill · 24/08/2006 09:23

Welcome ralusadajo. I am nearly 31 and have dd age 4.6 and DS who will be 1 on the 22nd sept. We are in the midlands I work part time and do my best to avoid the mmmy mafia at school and at toddler groups. Have a few good friends but try to avoid the rest!!!

Hope you like it here on MN.
