Ok here is the new thread. Quite impressed that I managed to do this as I usually fail miserably.

wabbitt · 14/08/2006 15:30

conrad's had measles by the way... well over it all now and spots gone but he's now in the habit of waking-up up to three times a night!

Simplyred · 14/08/2006 16:00

Hello wabbitt!

What is measles like? Did C have it badly? bless him. DS is like a bear with a sore head - lots of shouting and grumpyness with chicken pox.

Feeling really warn down - it feels like one thing after another - imagine you'll all identify with that!!!!

wabbitt · 14/08/2006 17:22

like a cold with sneezes and high (over 38) temp for days running. very uncomfortable baby - unsettled and when temp went down he got the spots - all over body smallish but spread a little as they develop...

mummyhill · 15/08/2006 07:31

Bless poor C. Hope you and N are ok. Will phone you later as the forcast for thurs is apparently rain and we need to think of an alternative venue for the meetup.

Hello .

DH and I had a night away on our own on Saturday. First time since DS was born. It was to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary (yesterday).

It is so wet and grey and cold here .

I am still up for meeting on Friday although I think plans of picnics may not quite work. Who knows anything about Windsor?

PiccadillyCircus · 15/08/2006 09:55

Forgot to say, Alice now moves .

It's a sort of shuffle but it gets her about .

Now, nothing is safe .

jaamy · 15/08/2006 10:14

Wabbitt - sorry to hear C has been poorly. Hope all better now, little man. Sorry you've been incomunicado (sp?). But glad that's all it was - was a bit worried about you.
Am "working from home" this morning, ie. hanging curtains! Very strangely quiet with girls at nursery.
Mummyhill - have emailed your friend - looks like she's not so far away so possibility of a meet up if she wants.
Hope you all find alternative accommodation for your meet up this week. What has happened to the weather?
SR - hope you get to go away. You really need a break when you'r working from home. Hope DS over the worst.
Take care all x

beatie · 15/08/2006 14:12

Hmm, weather is set to change isn't it. Dare I suggest we plan it for a later date (8th September? 15th September?) when I have already changed the date once? Give us time to plan it properly with a plan A and Plan B? I am totally keen to meet-up. Just feeling foggy and disorganised following 2 weeks away. And now the weather.....

Sorry to hear about C's measles.

My Alice is still not crawling but she does move about by pivoting on a hand, lifting up her bottom and moving her feet around. I keep thinking she's on the verge of crawling but the progress is slow. I'm amazed I might end up with an 11 month old non-crawling baby

IdrisTheDragon · 15/08/2006 17:57

I know what you mean about feeling disorganised and I haven't even been away .

I am happy to change dates, but not to the 8th September please as that is my birthday and I know that DH has taken the day off .

Hope Conrad is feeling better.

IdrisTheDragon · 15/08/2006 17:58

Whoops, it's PC really - forgot I was messing around with names .

Simplyred · 15/08/2006 20:13

Thank you mummyhill - you have inspired me to stay with it (for a while at any rate ).

beatie · 16/08/2006 19:40

What about 15th September?

beatie · 16/08/2006 19:48

So, what is everyone planning for their baby's first birthday? A party? What kind of presents are you buying, especially those who already have an older child?

IdrisTheDragon · 16/08/2006 21:38

Alice will have a party for family either the weekend before or weekend after her birthday. She will probably be getting some sort of doll's house - at least we do have the opportunity for getting some different sort of toys (although she enjoys getting her hands on all of DS's toys ).

15th September sounds good (I am starting to feel I don't have enough of a social life ).

Blush
Simplyred · 16/08/2006 21:49

15th September is good with me - ds will be back at school so a middle of the day meet up please xx

I'm getting Rachel a little people (fisher price) house - she enjoys chewing the heads of the little people range! Recently I got her a baby dolly - she cuddles it briefly sqeeks and throws the poor dolly across the floor. I think dh taught her to do this as he says I'm encouraing girly toys and behaviour!

Off to Wales in the morning - theres lovely!

beatie · 16/08/2006 21:55

Let's hope Wabbit can do the 15th too

jaamy · 16/08/2006 23:49

HI was just popping in to wish you all a lovely time at your meet up but since it's been postponed will just say hello to you all instead...hello!
Beatie - were you only gone for 2 weeks? Seems like ages! We'll probably be having a bit of a party in the house ofr DD2's birthday, mostly for the benefit of DD1 and her friends as she has worked out that it's a long time til her birthday in Jan! Have no idea what to get her when the house is already packed full of things that we've bought for DD1. Will have to put big thinking cap on as it's not far away now!

mummyhill · 17/08/2006 00:22

Will have a meal for grandparents and aunties, bbq if wether is nice otherwise cram them all round the table in the kitchen.

Not sure what we are going to buy him, money is a bit tight (whats new there?) and he and N have soooo much stuff already that I am running out of storage space. Hve binned/charity shopped everything that doesn't get played with but am still left with loads of stuff.

DS has a small obsession with birthdays at the moment - since June there's been his

Grandpa
Aunt
Daddy
Uncle
Granny

and soon there will be his
Mummy
Sister
Grandad

before
Him (on the 22nd November).

He has decided he wants a Bob the Builder cake (with three handles as he puts it), I want a Postman Pat cake and Alice wants a yellow cake. And we will all sing Happy Birthday and he will go puff at the "handles". And he would like some more train track.

Not sure what he'll be like when it actuially is his birthday - three months or so to go...

I think this year has gone the quickest of all in my life - how have I nearly got a three year old and a one year old?

Found some lovely flower fairy stickers for Alice's room (we have moved the cot and bed around so that DS is now in the bigger room and Alice is in the smaller one. Now need to decorate a bit).

DS said a nice thing in the car coming back from nursery yesterday. "Alice is my favourite baby sister ). Felty a nice warm glow inside .

Can you all guess that there is no one else on my floor at work . Really should do some of it I suppose...
