Ok here is the new thread. Quite impressed that I managed to do this as I usually fail miserably.

Hello Lozza

Ds is 6 and weighs 4 stone! and dd was born on 18th September last and weighs around 20 lbs! She is into every thing and fearless! She scares me half to death with her dare devil deeds!

Can't believe the stuff in the media - can only imagine its pubilicy craving. Being silenced for any reason gets my goat! I was shouting at the 1'oclock news! dh was tutting at me!

mummyhill · 10/08/2006 00:32

Hello all,

Just got in from work and thought I would pop in and see how you all are. It's a bit quiet on this thread atm are you all ok?

mummyhill · 10/08/2006 09:44

Ow ow ow ow. Just gone ape at dd re toys & her clothes all over living room floor, asked her to tidy up whilst I made myself some breakfast. As usual she ignored me. Didn't see her coat as I trod on it, feet went out from under me, toast went flying, bashed elbow, landed funny on wrist which is sore and cracked head off dinning room chair. Not seeing stars but do have a lovely egg shapped bump over my left eye. DD cried and is now frantically picking everything up and promising to look after me.

Please tell me things can only get better. If wrist is still painful later will go and get it checked out.

Things will get better .

I am having a day off work (having hair cut later on) and so have the house to myself as DS and DD are at nursery.

I am about to run round the house tidying and cleaning (so much easier when everyone else is out).

Mummyhill, thank you for your message on the other thread - might get in touch with you sometime. Is wabbit around at the moment do you know?

Lozza26 · 10/08/2006 10:23

I heard about Mumsnet through Bounty and yes it was initially regarding the current problem they are having. On the plus side however what great publicity for the site!

It just seemed a bit more relaxed than some of the other forums I have visited in the past!

Not having the best of days today, I usually work Mondays and Tuesdays (basically that's when you will find my posts on here lol) but had to come in today for a meeting, so organised additional babysitter (big headache coz my mum looks after Boo Mon/Tues but works herself rest of week) and came in just to find out that the meeing was cancelled at 4pm yesterday and I wasn't told!! Wouldn't mind but I AM THE PRJECT MANAGER!! so I have the hump and decided I will spend the rest of the day on the internet!

Simplyred · 10/08/2006 10:24

AHHH Mummyhill - it will get better. Total empathy here - its a mess - just wrote a 'contract' for dh and ds stating - clear it up or I'll throw it away! I'm so angry about their lack of support have been in tears earlier.

Simplyred · 10/08/2006 10:26

Lozza - thats appalling - I hope they are ashamed of themselves - they obviously have no idea about being a Mum and childcare.

Lozza26 · 10/08/2006 10:50

Well they are all men - I work in the Railway so they dont really, got the hump mainly because it is my project and no one else has the authority to call off a meeting bar me!!! Wouldn't mind but I have a work mobile and a laptop so there is no excuse.

jaamy · 10/08/2006 23:23

DD2 is 10 months old today!!! Where did that go? She's pulling herself up to standing but no cruising yet. Has a mouthful of teeth - eight I think at last count and yes, she too is waving frantically at anyone who cares to look her way - very cute!
Welcome Lozza! LOL at your "top belly" - sounds familiar. Hope you make those inconsiderate men suffer for cancelling your meeting!! Quick introduction - I'm 33 and as well as DD2 (see above) I also have a 2.7 yo DD. I work part time too - mon-wed. Glad you find this site relaxed - so do I!! Whereabouts are you? I'm near Liverpool.
Mummyhill - hope wrist is feeling a bit better. That's all you need.
SR - I know who to come to to help me hide all my millions!
Hope everyone else ok. Anyone heard of NLSTM? She must be nearly ready to give birth, esp with twins. Don't know how I'd cope with DD2 AND new twins.

jaamy · 10/08/2006 23:24

Forgot to say - can't believe all the hoo-har over THAT woman!!

mummyhill · 11/08/2006 08:59

Morning all.

Wrist feels better. Head looks a mess really nice big bruise. Have also found a large bruise on thigh and even though you can't see any discolouratiion I must have a huge bruise on left mamary gland which is extremley sore.

Haven't seen wabbitt for a couple of weeks in RL but am due to meet up with her next week. Will give her a ring later to see how she is as she is noticable by her abscence.

Hello!

We have bought a newer car - horray I hate our car and it is on its last legs - or wheels at least! As we are off to Wales next week - we needed a car that has a fighting chance of getting there!

and 'the boz' are doing some cleaning up!!!

Ps - I put a baby in her cot last night and took out a toddler this morning!Any one else felt a sudden change in their little person

Simplyred · 11/08/2006 12:22

I meant boyz not boz!!! That will teach me for trying (and failing) to be trendy! Yes how is wabbitt - I'm worried about her mh too!?

jaamy · 11/08/2006 16:45

Yes, where id Wabbitt - please let her know that we're missing her, mummyhill. Have emailed you about your friend up here - the girls on the liverpool thread are a nice bunch but I'd be more than happy to welcome her to scouseland!. Glad your wrist is better but you must have had a really big bump to have all those bruises - sure you haven't really been paintballing or something?!
SR - glad to hear your men are pulling their weight. HAve a lovely time in Wales. Weather seems to be picking up again. Spent today at the Red Squirrel reserve and beach. WIndy but warm so nice enough for a picnic. Know what you mean about the baby into toddler overnight thing. DD2 is growing up so fast. Got her appointment through today for her 8 month check next week. She'll be exactly 10 months 1 week and 4 days...hmmmm...of course she's going tho have reached all her 8 month goals by then!
Hope everyone else ok. Just read the post about yorkiegirl...very sad. Makes me realise how very lucky I am.

mummyhill · 11/08/2006 17:14

thanks jaamy - have forwarded your mail and sent you her email address.

Poor yorkiegirl my thoughts and prayers are flying to her. I don't envy her the flight home on sunday. Such a sad time for her and her little ones.

Not been able to get hold of wabbitt yet but will keep trying.

Simplyred · 12/08/2006 15:33

Hello!

Any one know much about fleas!

We are looking after dh's brothers dog whilst he is away and ds now has bites on his ankles and knees - not really sure if its hives (as we did use a different bubble bath last night) - or if we have tiny friends. Havn't seen any of the itchy critors though??????

mummyhill · 13/08/2006 08:31

If it was hives due to the bubble bath he would be covered from head to toe hun. Sounds as if is fleas. You need to get some shampoo/flea powder/spray or spot on treatment for the dog and then also treat carpets and soft furnishing with flea spray.

Anthisan (antihistamine cream) can help with the itching from the bites.

Simplyred · 13/08/2006 18:03

Been to the hospital with ds (yes again!) - he now has loads 50+ red spots all over - the doctor says chicken pox - he is taking piraton and is covered in calamine lotion

mummyhill · 13/08/2006 20:48

Ohh dear. Do you have any oatmeal? Apparently if you run a warm bath with oatmeal in it this will reduce the itching.

OP posts:
jaamy · 13/08/2006 23:52

Hi SR - just seen that your little man has chickenpox. Hope he doesn't suffer too much. There have been several outbreaks of it up here over the last 6 months. Both DDs had it feb/mar. If you can find it, get some calomine AND aqueous cream (comes in a mixture together). Think most chemists do it though you will have to ask at the counter. Apparently combats the drying effect of calomine alone. Aren't you supposed to be going away this week? Flaming chickenpox always strikes when you don't want it. DD1 was covered in spots for DD2's christening! But better that your los get it now rather thean when they're older. Unfortunately Rachel will proabaly come down with it some time over the next couple of weeks. Hope you manage to have a nice break anyway.

beatie · 14/08/2006 09:19

Hi - back from hols. What a hectic two weeks! I'm sort of relieved to be back in our own home with our own routine.

Is the Windsor meet-up still on? I have been looking forward to it? Is it meant to be this Friday? Is Wabbit about? I'll try and email people later today or tomorrow.

Simplyred · 14/08/2006 09:37

Hello

Sadly I can't make Friday - we were going to Wales - but not sure now we have the pox! Ds has no extra spots today and they are starting to scab over - ummm yum!
