ChasingDaisy · 23/10/2013 12:00

Temp is now 37.2

BigPigLittlePig · 23/10/2013 12:03

Lots of fluids, regular calpol and cuddles. Just make sure he's having wet nappies xx

BigPigLittlePig · 23/10/2013 12:04

I am currently sofa pinned. It's rather nice - and to think I used to moan about it!

ChasingDaisy · 23/10/2013 12:05

He's just cuddled up to me and fallen asleep sobbing. I've never seen him like this Sad

GTbaby · 23/10/2013 12:10

Hiya. A chatty morning here.

H is not pointing. But he waves when someone says bye bye. He goes hum hum when he wants to listen to blurred lines. Lol and he copies when we say hello in punjabi by putting his hands together, in a namaste style.

We had semi success in bath. We has some time with no tears. But he still won't sit in the bath Hmm

BigPigLittlePig · 23/10/2013 12:10

Poor little thing. When F had her tummy bug, she was starving and would wolf down milk (she didn't want food) but it was too rich, so I used to give her slightly watered down milk, a few ozes every hour, and she seemed to be able to manage that easier. Hope you are managing to look after yourself too.

GTbaby · 23/10/2013 12:19

Poor O Chasing. Hope he is able to have a nice cuddly nap.

ChasingDaisy · 23/10/2013 13:10

He woke up and it has taken until m

ditsygem · 23/10/2013 13:11

Chasing give some ibruprofen -I find its much more effective then calpol. If worried take to the drs to rule out ear infection etc. Big hugs, its horrible when they are ill. my dr told me to give calpol and ibruprofen alternately (so every 3 hours give one or the other) when F had a fever.

ChasingDaisy · 23/10/2013 13:12

He woke up and it has taken until now to get him back to sleep. He wouldn't go in his cot so is sleeping on me. Am irrationally scared that this means he won't sleep in his cot tonight. I am a rubbish nurse. He has had some sips of water. I will try diluted milk when he wakes up, thanks pig. Not even going to attempt solids again today.

PetiteRaleuse · 23/10/2013 13:13

Ibuprofen should only be given on a full tummy though. Not advised if he is off his food.

ChasingDaisy · 23/10/2013 13:19

I don't have any ibuprofen in and I think he has vommed up all the Calpol I have given him today. Is Calpol every 4 or 6 hours? Will try and give him some when he wakes up from this nap and then again before bed.

ValiumQueen · 23/10/2013 13:19

If he has a bit of milk then that is food. It is to line the stomach. I think baby brufen is ok to give on an empty stomach. I have in the past as calpol just did not touch his fever. I am pretty sure the bottle and info leaflet say nothing on this, otherwise I would not have done. I understand your fear of brufen PR x

ValiumQueen · 23/10/2013 13:20

Calpol can be given every 4 hours but only 4 times in any 24 hour period.

ValiumQueen · 23/10/2013 13:26

Hmm. Dr Google says no to on an empty stomach and no if baby has reflux. I gave it on an empty stomach when his temp was over 39 so in my opinion it was more important to bring the temp down. At that time anyway.

PetiteRaleuse · 23/10/2013 13:27

Yeah am a bit paranoid about it Blush and of course milk is enough, I'd understood he wasn't keeping anything down. My meds (infant nurofen) say not on an empty stomach though, but they might be extra cautious. According to this thread seems ok though:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/general_health/464061-children-s-nurofen-on-an-empty-stomach/AllOnOnePage

ChasingDaisy · 23/10/2013 13:28

He hasn't kept any milk down yet and his temp is only 37. Will see how he is after this nap and try him with Calpol and diluted milk.

PetiteRaleuse · 23/10/2013 13:31

Yes DrGoogle says a one off dose to get a high temperature down is more important than an upset stomach.

We give baby meds measured out precisely to weight here (except suppositories of course) and I always slightly underdose nurofen ie give them a dose for 1kg less. Blush

BigPigLittlePig · 23/10/2013 13:53

How can one small person eat an omelette (1 egg, half slice ham, half plum tomato), a kiwi, 4 of those sweetcorn rings crisps, some grapes and then an 8oz bottle? Do babies have some kind of 4 chamber stomach system, a la cow??

GTbaby · 23/10/2013 14:08

Expressed lo nxt feed. Having a nap while mum baby sits.

Lily311 · 23/10/2013 14:34

Back in Hungary. Had an ok journey, poor little one screamed at landing. The pressure I guess.

Happy birthday to Jonas.

O is not pointing but is very very vocal. She says daddy, papa (grandpa), bu (fav toy called brunyo), bye bye, hi, gabe (my brother), shoe. She also waves, claps, blows strawberries, giggles, plays peekaboo with her hands. And sings the melody of twinkle, twinkle, Humpty Dumpty and round and round the garden. Proud mummy.

Hope O is better chasing.

applepieinthesky · 23/10/2013 14:52

Singing? That's very impressive lily. Clever little O.

C can clap, point, give a high five, wave. When he dances now he bops his head in time to the music and wiggles his whole body. He can say mama, baba (daddy), ame (auntie), no, na (no in Farsi), Nan, hello. He can stand on his own for several seconds but as soon as he realises he's doing it he panics and sits down. He climbs onto the chair now and can get back down onto the floor on his own. When we are outside and sees a car he will point at it and try to make a car noise.

ChasingDaisy · 23/10/2013 14:58

He has kept down a diluted 3oz of mil and half a rice cake and the crying has reduced to a whinge...

PetiteRaleuse · 23/10/2013 15:03

The paed reckons that LO was screaming Maman during her jabs yesterday, but I think it was open to interpretation :o

V impressed at singing Lily I don't believe that DD1 can hold a simple tune yet which isn't surprising with dh's genes :)

Sophiathesnowfairy · 23/10/2013 15:24

That sounds more promising chasing hope your night is ok.
