Wot Kyz asked too. Though we are still on 3 bottles that add to 20oz.

The only thing I got told was to do a phased cows milk approach like twinny mummy did. Add an ounce of cows milk to a bottle then two etc

YellowWellies · 22/10/2013 22:14

Great British Bake-off final tonight whilst I'm baking massacring a dairy free chocolate orange cake for Jonas' birthday tomorrow - no pressure! I hope the scheduling won't be this sarcastic every year Grin .

Pikz · 22/10/2013 22:17

YW make it into a hedgehog... It hides everything..

GTbaby · 22/10/2013 22:20

I'm only managing 10min feeding on my bad boob :( then pain gets too much. I've expressed twice on that side. My supply is gona go to pot :(

Is it possible just to feed off one boob forever?

YellowWellies · 22/10/2013 22:21

GT yep I've a pal who's still feeding her 2 year old on one boob!

Pikz · 22/10/2013 22:22

Iirc most people have a 'better' boob. I always had one that expressed far more than the other .

YellowWellies · 22/10/2013 22:22

Pikz I've got hundreds and thousands to liberally scatter over my dodgy chocolate frosting and thus disguise the worst of it! Grin

PurplePidjOrTreatin · 22/10/2013 22:27

R had about 1oz cows milk with dinner tonight but was zzzing in his chair due to afternoon nap refusal. I might clear the schedule next week and nudge him into milk in cup in bedroom then sleep every afternoon, would that work?

I will steal dp's claim to fame... Walking through a London park with a mate who was a backing singer, she stopped to say hi to someone she'd been working with. Twas dp's brother's birthday so dp got them to ring him and sing Happy Birthday. The person they stopped to chat to? Neneh Cherry.

Pikz · 22/10/2013 22:28

Excellent. That and very loud singing when the cakes comes out and no one will notice .Grin

Kirrin · 22/10/2013 22:34

We also do breakfast first thing and a bottle mid morning. N still has a good morning nap but the afternoon one is often skipped now - unless she falls asleep in the car on the way to pick DD1 up from nursery.

I haven't seen the bargain threads VQ so I must admit to being intrigued as to what people fight about?! Sounds like you've got some proper good deals though :)

((Hugs)) lily

Good holiday horsey ? Been anywhere nice?

We did the phasing in of cow's milk with DD1 as it got spat out really quite spectacularly the first time :)

I have no claim to fame.

YellowWellies · 22/10/2013 22:42

The cake looks good! And I didn't drop either half as I was putting the top cake on top of the bottom sandwich! Grin Might have to take a photo! Smile

GTbaby · 22/10/2013 22:47

Oh and we do milk in a bottle first thing. Then breakfast an hour later.
We are currently phasing formula out. We have half a tub left so just making 3oz bottles and topping up with milk and won't be buying any more.

Elizadoesdolittle · 22/10/2013 22:48

gt I've only fed E from my left boob for months now. Happened with DD1 too (who I bf far more successfully). My right boob appears to be broken.

Re change over to milk, with DD1 she went onto full cows milk day after her first birthday and didn't have any formula after that. I never understood why one day she wasn't "allowed" cows milk but the next day she could drink it by the bucket loud. She couldn't have cared tuppance what milk she had but I know some friends have had to introduce cow milks slowly by adding into formula, and reducing the fomula added to it bit by bit.

Hmmm claims to fame. All mine seem rubbish when written down. My uncle (who is no longer with us) used to be a bit part actor so when I was younger we used to have small time actors round our house a lot. My dad (who is also no longer with us) used to be in a band so had good connections in the music business. He best used this to my advantage when I was a mad brosette no giggling please. We were on holiday in the south of france and Bros were recording their next album in a studio there. My dad did some name dropping and pretended he wanted to hire the studio and needed to look around. So off we went to view the studio. Luke Goss happened to be hanging around when we got there so took me off to show me the studio whilst my dad was officially shown round. He let me play his drum kit. Was one of the best days of my life wedding and kids being born aside I guess.
Oh and I used to work in a department store and I sold Ross Kemp some christmas lights.

StuntedFrankenNun · 22/10/2013 22:57

J took his first steps today, two with the left then one with the right. I'm not sure he even noticed but DH and I were watching and pleased as punch, particularly that DH was around to see them. GrinGrinGrin

Claims to fame...? DH is related to Hans Sloan who founded the British Museum and invented drinking chocolate. I have met Margaret Thatcher, Ranulph Fiennes and Tony Robinson. I once bumped into Christopher Lee (totally my fault, I wasn't looking where I was going, and he very politely apologised to me!) And my band supported KT Tunstall's band a couple of times when we were at university and she was plain old Katie.

ValiumQueen · 22/10/2013 23:02

Just had a huge row with DH. He is happy to stay up really late when J is in bed and gets up early when J is in bed, but when J is sleep dodging he wants to go to bed early, like 8pm, and cannot get up in the morning. He got up at 5 on Saturday as I had been up all night with J, and needed a nap and an early night to recover.Tonight I said I was going to bed at 8 as J had woken up and I envisage a bad night, but he said he was going to bed. J is still up as am I obviously. At this rate I will be going back to the doctor for another note. I cannot do this and work full time. I am likely to crash the car or make a drug error or something.

YellowWellies · 22/10/2013 23:13

Sad oh VQ you deserve more support. I couldn't handle all the many plates you have to spin xx

Stunt yey J! We had Jonas first 'standing up not holding onto anything' moment today at playgroup. He was flat on his arse after 3 seconds but dear God I swear he got ideas!

ValiumQueen · 22/10/2013 23:44

They really are coming on aren't they? J can walk holding your hand which is pretty cool and he is practicing letting go of things when cruising.

He is in his cot awake but settled. He had mayo today, just a scraping. I am wondering if he has egg issues too as his skin has flared up and he has been acidy tonight. He has had egg once before. Although it could be the fecking teeth or the thrush or the antibiotics playing havoc with his tum.

DH is upset as it is 'always his fault'. He needs to forget about his own insecurities and see the struggle I am having. I am a fucking good wife, and an awesome mother. And a shit hot nurse. But I am tired.

Anyhoo, night night all x

PetiteRaleuse · 23/10/2013 04:46

vq Flowers use them to wallop the lazy bugger out of bed.

We have not had a night time wake up for quite a while (don't be jealous I have bad insomnia) And those we have had have been short and to the point. So how come I have been up for almost two hours with a screaming raging red faced little thing? Could it be the jabs? Bastarding jabs?

Didn't get back to sleep. Me that is, LO just dropped off while I was writing the last post. It has been raining so hard all night. Was 23 degrees and sunny yesterday.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 23/10/2013 07:08

Yes vq yay. You are! Thanks

Sophiathesnowfairy · 23/10/2013 07:12

I haven't much though about milk change other than can't wait to stop using sticky old formula. He already has regular milk on. Dream so I may just phase it over a week or so like the rest of you. Or I may just switch. Or would that be mean?

Does anyone else's baby point in the air? Like they are at a particularly good rock concert/church service/putting their hand up in class or indeed like they are actually ET? MinE does. Maybe I should capture in on camera.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 23/10/2013 07:13

Cereal.

PetiteRaleuse · 23/10/2013 08:11

Yes to pointing. Does it with a fist too as if she is a victorious Usain Bolt.

Re milk. Here they are anti cows milk until 3 except in yoghurts, cheese and cooking etc so I have switched her on to a follow on milk which can be poured straight from the fridge. Much easier than formula and actually the same price as fresh full fat milk, which is quite hard to get over here. They prefer uht skimmed and semi skinned. They say that there are proteins in full fat milk which are hard to digest and with LO's skin issues tis not worth the risk.
Plus I cba to argue with the paed and nursery.

Pikz · 23/10/2013 08:12

Euurgh crap night and will only eat toast or rice cakes. Ridiculous nappies. Can only assume more bastard teeth.

Fuck you fucking teeth!
