Hi again!

Have now sat a read the thread! [smile}

My DS is like yours muma, and I am glad he is not the only one.... My DD was definetely not like this, so I thought I was just getting very old for not being able to keep up with him....

Sfx, am watching futebol in the telly, and am not happy . That was not a penalty! Will keep my fingers crossed for portugal though!

TRib - what a hard choice! Can I ask if you are still thinking about number 2? You don't have to answer, but I just thought that might make a big difference on your answer?!
Also, I don't know exactly the details about the two positions, but sometimes together with more stress comes more flexibility.... not sure if that is the case but that for me would be a worth while trade off, specially if it comes with more money!

Hope everybody is managing to stay cool! I didn't buy any summer clothes for the kids , because we nevr needed before... Guess will have to run to the stores and invest in some tomorrow!

Trib-My friend has severe sleep apnea and is under the hospital at Kings Cross for it.She had to go there for a couple of nights whilst they did a sleep study on her and she now wear a very attractive machine and mask to bed everynight, which makes her sound like Darth Vader. She has sen major improvements since wearing the mask at night and is desperately trying to lose some weight which'll also help her.
Have only really skimmed the thread since we came back so apologies if I've missed anything important. We had a lovely week away and Oscar went swimming for the first time and I was seen in a cossie for the first time in years too.He loved it and found it rather amusing, trying to drink the water.
Spent yesterday morning at the hospital being measured for new boots yet again. They gave Ds new boots just before we went away BUT they were the wrong size and blistered his little feet, grrr. He now has a pair which fit perfectly but it seems soooooo cruel putting them on him when the weather is so hot.
He also had the dreaded MMR yesterday and hardly made a squeak about it.Poor mite is getting so used to jabs,I think.

teabelly · 05/07/2006 23:02

Bubb - hiya - glad to hear you had a good time DD tries to eat/lick the water too, in the pool, in the bath, out of my sister's dog's bowl !! Don't envy the little mite his boots in the present weather tho.

Trib, not sure if I'm reading Lua's answer right but I see it that if no2 a possibility then more dosh and promotion = good for mat leave/smp/job to return to...however I understand why you don't want to be away from DS anymore than necessary, esp as sole breadwinner can make you feel disgruntled at times (well it did me, and I was major dosh bringer in, not sole one!). But I also know how much happier I am as a lowly paid part-time SAHM/Worker and how I'd be loathe to give it up (although will have to from September - story for another time). The other thing is how much more money? It isn't always worth your while to increase hours and stress when all paid straight out to childminder/nursery. SFX is right it's down to personal choice; you know inside what you really want to do...or don't If you don't want to go for it don't feel guilty about wanting to spend more time with your lo, equally however if you really do want to do it don't feel guilty about spending less time with DS - think of it this way you can afford to get another cleaner so that all the time you will spend with DS will be your time together rather than cleaning the house/ironing/chores time

Hi all - Have been away for yonks, loads of non-baby home life madness going on. Things are calming now and have finally started just getting back online at home again. I think of you all often and hope all's well with everyone. Haven't been able to catch-up so hope nothing here offends, and an outrageously belated happy Birthday to all the babies. x

sfxmum · 06/07/2006 19:54

Morning mums hugaaaaaa

sfxmum thank you for thinking of me darl xxxx

Trib i would say about the job if im not too late, promotion sounds great, like bubs said maybe if you earn more money you could look for a lovely nursery to put baby trib in, but you have to weigh all the cons up darl, I know ive never enjoyed spending so much time with my baby boy and if i would have been well, i would have now gone back to work missing all this precious time so i do know how u feel hunny hope this helps.

eastyorksmum · 07/07/2006 09:12

teabelly · 07/07/2006 18:32

Just a very quick pop in to say;

KATZ - hope all went well today

CRATCHIT - hello Hope your ds had a good birthday too! Are you going to come to the Zoo too?? Saturday 22nd - be lovely to meet you...

TRIB - so what did you decide about the job...??

katzg · 07/07/2006 18:35

interview went well, but i've not heard anything this evening

OP posts:
tribpot · 07/07/2006 18:56

Too soon to tell, surely, Katz? Did you ask when you'd hear?

Tea and all - thank you for your thoughts. I decided not to go for the vacancy in the end, although left it with them that the reason was in present circumstances that amount of office time would be difficult for me. Hoping that if they fail to recruit someone (and they are quite desperate to get someone in post soon) they might come back and be prepared to deal

Cratchit, good to see you!

sfxmum · 08/07/2006 12:11

happy birthday yorkie William

strange thing happened to me this week....i enjoyed work!!!!
i think mostly because i got to see a few of my peers, had a good long chat with my former manager, who bless him made me feel like i can do something right again.
i really enjoyed being involved in a away day to develop the future of the organisation and found that i was getting enthusiastic and committing myself to some projects.
also strangely the chief exec. made a point of coming over to talk and welcome back this is the person who according to present line manager was furious with my awful performance

i really hate her!
hope you all well

katzg · 09/07/2006 15:21

you're right trib- they couldn't make their minds up, i was at a conference this weekend with 3 of the pannel and by 6pm on fri they couldn't decide so are meeting again on mon

katzg · 10/07/2006 14:40

sadly i didn't get the job - but i came a very close second, they chose experience over ability.

OP posts:
tribpot · 10/07/2006 18:15

Oh Katz MORE BLOODY FOOL THEM I say. It is much easier to gain experience than it is to gain ability, let's face it.

katzg · 10/07/2006 19:02

i'm actually ok about it, was very angry at first but now i've thought about it, i'm not ready for this next step, i'm happy with my current job, i love my current work/life balance and my turn will come.

thank you all for your support
