FAB ! Yes defo Katz see you there off to book tickets for entrance now (btw you get 10% discount if booking on-line)

Te he he Lua - bless them! My major problem is I'm the curser in our house so DH always finds out if I've been swearing in DS's earshot

Bubb - hiya

SFX - glad to be of service

katzg · 19/07/2006 13:54

I have got days out vouchers to use, which i got by exchanging my tesco clubcard vouchers for, so all in it will be free!!!!!!

did we decide on a meeting point yet?

EYM has my mobile number as does soemone else - not sure who!!

I loe the things that dd1 comes out with like
'come on dd2, eat your dinner all gone then you'll be big like me!'

'now dd2, don't do that, you know it makes me cross!'

although her most precious comment this week has to be
'i'm not going to count in english any more is too boring' then proceeds to count in french!

OP posts:
teabelly · 19/07/2006 14:34

Wow ! Katz bi-lingual at such a young age bless her - I'm not sure I can remember much beyond 10 in french myself, he he he!

Have revived the Zoo thread so we don't bore those who can't/aren't coming Have also found a great 2 for 1 entrance offer for train travellers - posted all details on zoo thread...

katzg · 19/07/2006 15:18

it was one of those half threats we made which now makes us look like really pushy parents! DD1 is desperate to go to Eurodisney, DH and said she could only go if she could speak french as thats what they speak at EuroDisney, so she is now insisting on learning! Lummox very kindly sent us some french bedtime stories, and we have bought her a couple of books and also a dvd, she can count to 10 and has a number of useful words like dolly and sweets! but she does seem to be picking it up fast and we are now looking for some extra help, i don't speak french so DH is teaching her, my plan is to learn myself so we can then all learn and speak the language, i'm hoping we can have a lovely long holiday in france next summer maybe 4 weeks!

we will aim to be there by 12, lets see how well we manage.
very tired here still far too hot. in laws arriving friday must clean flat

teabelly · 20/07/2006 09:25

Katz - lo's brains are like sponges and they pick up things so easily without getting confused like us adults I often wish my mum had perservered to teach us hungarian, unfortunately she didn't start til I was 3 and apparently I just giggled and laughed at her so she decided it was a lost cause!

SFX - I have some Junies numbers - unfortunately they no longer post and aren't coming! ...oh actually though I may have Trib's number if she hasn't changed it? Feel free to CAT me for mine though - that way we'll both have at least one person's

2Happy - feel for you lovely, I have a friend whose due next thursday and she says she's blown up like a balloon in this heat!!

Thanks, Tea, you've just reminded me that things could be much worse! I'd hate to be that far gone in this weather, good luck to her hope it goes well x
As for kids speaking french/hungarian - well I'm sure ds speaks a mixture of danish and japanese, at least that's what it sounds like, lol!

2Happy · 20/07/2006 20:45

Oh heck. You know people say your mind goes when you're pg and it never comes back? Well it's not true, it does come back. I know this because mine's disappeared again! I meant to ask when I came on line, is anyone else still bfing? ds has started biting me again, he went through a phase of this months ago but grew out of it. Now he's started doing it again during the evening feed. I don't know if it's because he's going off the feed and is bored. I've tried pulling him onto my boob, but he just finds it hilarious, so much so that tonight he spent half the time pushing his head in and blowing out making farting noises against my boob and LhisAO without even bothering with the biting bit first! Any advice?

teabelly · 20/07/2006 21:15

2Happy - sorry I shouldn't laugh but I have this great image of a baby blowing rasberries against it's mum's boob

I think SFX is still doing some feeds herself, but I don't know of anyone else.

I'm sorry I can't offer any sage advice as I didn't feed DD myself (well I don't count the first 6 days when I tried ), and I hope I didn't offend you by laughing

lua · 20/07/2006 21:21

2happy - Still bfing here. We do go through phases when he is less gentle then others. It does seem to be correlated with teething.

I have heard though that milk taste my change when you are pregnant, and a number of LOs self wean themselves when mum is pregnant. Others don't though. If you would like to keep bfing, I would keep offering for a while. I would said if she shows little intesrt for a whole week, he migh have decided he had enough ...

sfxmum · 20/07/2006 21:53

evening all
still quite tired here dd not sleeping much dh stressed and cranky which makes baby crancky too, got home to my two frazzled dears, oh well nevermind, he is off playing computer games dd sleeping since 7.30, lets see how many times up during night.

breastfeeding , yes still doing it, and i second what lua said. dd bit me before she had teeth, if such a thing is possible and sometime after she had teeth, again seems conected to teething.
she also does it as a joke, usually i just gently remove ger say no biting mummy it hurts and do something else with her, if she asks for more milk i will say no biting mummy and try again, it can be sometime and is particularly trying if at bedtime, but she does eventually stop. has not done it for a while, so best of luck it can be quite sore.

tea will cat thanks
night all i need my bed

2Happy · 21/07/2006 10:14

Tea - no,no, no, you didn't offend at all! I think half the reason he does it is because we both find it hilarious and though I try really hard to stay serious and say "no, ds, you're supposed to be feeding now", I can't help laughing at baby farting on my boob!
SFx and Lua, thanks for the advice. I don't think I want to tandem feed, so I will have to stop sometime, yet every time I think about stopping I don't want to . Maybe it would be easier if it was his choice and he just decided to stop, though I think I'd prefer it if he stopped, rather than (literally ) farting about!

sfxmum · 22/07/2006 08:01

hello good morning not much sleep still far too hot

2happy - hope you find a solution you are happy with, i know what you mean about giving up, but a lot of that feeling is hormones doing their bit. i am trying to conceive and will have to consider that at some point i think, i am very pro breasfeeding but tandem is not something i can easily picture.

will be off to the zoo later will take then share pictures

2Happy · 22/07/2006 08:31

Just wanted to say I hope you have a fantastic time at the zoo!

lummox · 22/07/2006 17:01

wanted to be the first to post and say how nice it was to meet folk at the zoo. i think ds will be having some rich dreams tonight.

sfxmum · 22/07/2006 17:12

by a whisker lummox, we just got in via shop to get our dinner.

lovely to meet you all, gorgeous babies and older siblings
shame the weather was less than ideal. dd making monkey noises

trib sorry you had a rough time

next time meet up north and maybe i will show up on time, quite disgraceful i know

teabelly · 22/07/2006 23:29

Evening Ladies

Bit worse for wear as I treated my mum to a meal out for her birthday - feel very guilty as she drove - but she doesn't drink at all and it seemed wrong to let the opportunity pass

Just wanted to add to the earlier senitments - had a fab day today (if somewhat wet at times). Everyone was abosilutely lovely - and not at all as I imagined, which is always the way Trib - sorry you were unable to join us, hope the rest of your weekend fairs better , and quite agree, next time we must definitely meet north of the Watford Gap - that would be officially North yes??

Anyway sleep tight, catch you all next week, x

teabelly · 22/07/2006 23:30

abosilutely = absolutely

see - never attempt to type the wrong side of a couple of bottles of wine!!!

katzg · 23/07/2006 08:41

We got back just after 9pm and the DD's were in bed by 9.30 with us very closely following and then they didn't wake until 8am!! must go to the Zoo again!

We all had a fab time and We're talking about doing another day trip to London this summer, hadn't realised quite how easy it was.

DD1 loved the giraffes (sp?) and DD2 just love running round manically! DD1 said she loved looking at the scarey snakes with your DS tea,

It was so nice to put some names to faces and meet some more of the Junie clan. We must do it again.

Sorry we missed you ladies - by midday we had been on the road for 3 1/2 hours and both ds and dh were beginning to get highly fed up of the whole thing (note: I was driving!). Cue multi-vehicle pile-up on the M1 and there's no way we could have made it there by a reasonable hour. We went to Whipsnade Zoo instead, which would have been a lot better value for money if it hadn't have chucked it down for most of our visit Add to that a very difficult night with ds because he was so hot, and then a nightmarish journey back up with him this avo when he flatly refused to go to sleep despite being exhausted and quite frankly, the trib family could happily never leave Yorkshire again!

Obviously we will at some point, and we did have a lovely lunch today at Priory Country Park with some friends who are also MNers (I know them in real life but both post here on occasion) but I think in future PCP will be the upper limit of how far towards London we shall go!
