I was thinking of maybe having a small family party thing at home for Oliver's bday

Then going to the brewers fayre near me for my 4yo 5th bday for a meal as it has a soft play area in there. Do you think I'd have to reserve a table well in advance with it being on the 30th December?

MamaTo3Boys · 29/08/2013 10:50

Also, we had a major turn around with Oliver this morning Grin

My dad came round and had him standing up holding onto his hands! Couldn't believe my eyes! My dad thinks I'm being too soft with him and not pushing him enough. I think grandads just have that magic touch Wink hahaha

utopian99 · 29/08/2013 11:17

WL hope your back gets better. This cruising/pre walking stage is really taking its toll on mine too. Rather hoping the scoliosis doesn't get worse..

is that what a lovely idea, v jealous. Used to run quite a bit with the pram when he was 2-4 months but have been so busy lately have failed miserably.

Barbeasty · 29/08/2013 11:31

Mama I think if you want somewhere specific I'd book. That's the problem with these winter babies!

One shiny new laptop ordered. Mine was obsolete and unsupported. Hope I haven't lost too much stuff, but I'm surrounded by people backing up now!

SpottyTeacakes · 29/08/2013 11:46

Beasty I was thinking the same re getting ds some presents to grow into as dd is a June baby so much easier to spread it out.

SpottyTeacakes · 29/08/2013 11:46

Oh and yay Oliver Grin

IsThatTrue · 29/08/2013 12:30

Well our run was lovely, DH and DS went home after 2.3 miles and I carried on to 5miles, it was lovely, poor DH is quite unfit atm but he did 17 minutes non stop. I'm very proud.

Just found out my brother has kicked his dp (of 8 years) out, via text. He's such a cunt! Although its now 75% certain I'll get my mum and dads house. Which is great news for us. I feel so sorry for his dp though!

utopian99 · 29/08/2013 13:42

Crikey is that do you know why? (Sorry, tell me off if I'm being rampantly nosy)

Dh was getting a bit morose at being unfit since we moved south but moved offices two weeks ago and has since been cycling in and is SO much happier. I keep getting happy text messages telling me his latest times!

IsThatTrue · 29/08/2013 17:31

Tbh I can only attribute it to him being a prize A twat!

WLmum · 29/08/2013 20:24

Epic parenting fail - accidentally gave T twice the dose of antibiotics she should have Sad. All 3 have got the same abs, but big 2s are double the strength of Ts. Being a total div I picked up dd1s bottle and merrily dosed her up. Dd1 pointed out my mistake. Dr said its fine and just skip the next dose but I feel a bit crap. It'll def give her a bad belly as she's a bit iffy as it is. Cancelled plans for tom in anticipation of muchos poo.

itsMYNutella · 29/08/2013 20:27

utopian I love your use of "rampantly nosey" I miss words like rampant... It's a bit much to explain its uses to non natives Confused

isthat well done with the running !

spotty if you order from bravissimo you can send it back and have another size sent to you for free - they even post exchange orders to Germany for free! I am a very happy bunny!

WL oh dear... Confused

DS has been sleeping awfully, waking every 1-2 hours, suddenly last night slept through until 3 ish am and then fed and slept until 5:30 ish and then he woke again about 6:15 and I took him to bed with me and managed to get him to sleep until 7:30 yipeeee I needed that!

SpottyTeacakes · 29/08/2013 20:38

Oh no WL! Easy mistake to make try not to feel bad.

Oh dear IsThat that doesn't sound good.

Ds has been pulling up lots today. Can do it on dd's table now which is eye height when he's kneeling.

Spoke to my step mum today about what needs doing with the children when I go back to work next week Sad

IsThatTrue · 29/08/2013 21:28

Hmm my brother is definitely moving out but my dads being unreasonable about the house. Urgh I hate having to play hardball with family.

SpottyTeacakes · 29/08/2013 21:54

Hmm maybe wait for things to calm down a bit IsThat? What does your dad want to do with it?

Mn is being crap tonight!

halestone · 29/08/2013 22:07

Spotty i'm having trouble with mn tonight.

Nutella i lived in Germany till i was 7 i miss the curryverst and frickadellas (not sure of either of those spellings.

WL don't feel too bad it's an easy mistake to make. Hopefully you'll have a diarrhoea free day tomorrow.

We took H to a farm today, she did not like being in her pram and screamed and arched her back so that i couldn't get her in. In the end i ended up holding her and pushing her pram it was very awkward and because of that i don't think either of us enjoyed ourselves very muchHmm

Isthat sorry about your brother xxx

SpottyTeacakes · 29/08/2013 22:09

Hales you need to get her a smart trike for Christmas Grin I bet she would love going round in that

halestone · 29/08/2013 22:24

Sorry about the kisses H started crying as i was typing so i rushed and forgot.

Spotty she would love thatGrin are anyone elses babies really losing their tempers all the time at the moment? H seems to absolutely refuse to do anything she doesn't want to i.e todays screaming and arching her back so i couldn't get her in her pram.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 29/08/2013 22:41

J is Hales. He's being a horror at the minute, he does the red faced, breath holding kind of crying anytime he doesn't get his own way! He had a full scale tantrum today as I told him no to touching the oven Confused

He looks a right mess with all his bruises all over his face. He thinks he can walk unsupported now. The carpet/walls/tv table disagree Wink

I was a mini hero today! A baby at the baths flipped his swim seat and was trapped upside down under the water. I swam over at the speed of light and yanked him out of there. There was a lifeguard nearby but I was first on the scene and felt quite chuffed with myself. I also managed not to drown J in the process which was a bonus!

halestone · 29/08/2013 22:52

Well done WillyouThanksThanks i would of been terrified.

FriendofDorothy · 29/08/2013 23:00

Thought I had already posted on this thread. We have been away on holiday, camping followed by a festival which was fun. The mountains of washing isn't though.

Also, I took The Little Mister to have photos taken dressed as an Elf today. Hilarious!

MamaTo3Boys · 29/08/2013 23:02

Well down willyou Smile I would've panicked. I'm not very good in emergencies unfortunately.

Isthat I wish my brother would get rid of his dp. Can't stand the girl Hmm

Oliver doesn't tantrum as such, he tends to do the rapid breathing, huffing and puffing thing with eyes screwed up and nose crinkled haha I can't help but laugh when he does it, he looks so funny! Grin X

IsThatTrue · 30/08/2013 01:17

willyou that's amazing! Well done you!

spotty well it's just the fact it's a shit pit atm. Going to cost serious money to be liveable. We're willing to do the work but obviously only for a return. But he keeps saying things like 'well if I sold it blah blah blah' whereas he was subsidising my brother living there Hmm all just feels like I'm being screwed over somehow. But this is our only chance until inheritance that we're going to get a house of our own. So it's a really big thing.

DS was very happy last night to have the big children back. He really does miss them when they go away. Only 1 week left until they're back at school now though!

utopian99 · 30/08/2013 03:43

willyou that's definitely heroic! Poor baby (what was it's parent doing?)

is that sorry to hear about stupid house issues, hope your dad is a bit more sensible after sleeping on it.

WL sorry for impending poo, but easy mistake to make. O is on antis for his rash, and drugs for teeth, and hates taking either, how is T? Poor drugged up babies.

Well.until now I have always settled O as we still feed to sleep but over the last few nights he's been finishing his feed still awake and quietly rummaging in the cot for 5 minutes while I rub his back, 5 minutes extra milk or cuddling and then to sleep.
Nothing worked tonight so after an hour and him having finished wanting mill I asked dh to give it a go as normally he wriggles but I'd run out of ideas. Turned out they say quietly watching the night sky together for 10 minutes, then he turned into DJ's chest, snuggled up and went to sleep! CUTE and also yay! Grin
Dh has been a bit sad O wouldn't let him settle him so really happy, plus he's only just woken after 6 hours.

SpottyTeacakes · 30/08/2013 05:30

Good news utopian Smile

IsThat tell him if he sells it he can give you a deposit for a house Grin

Wow WillYou well done you!

3boys that's what ds does screws up his noes and makes a noise like a hedgehog!!

Everyone is asleep...but not me Hmm
