I'm exhausted! We had our first sing and sign clasd today which was great but I was still tired. Then we had to do some shopping, I didn't eat until 3pm. Cleared out the fridge to make a beef stir fry and bought a special fried rice and thats dinner sorted. I need a lie down.

Hope everyone is enjoying the gorgeous weather.

2blessed · 20/09/2013 16:37

stacks I'm beginning to see bits of separation anxiety behaviour. sometimes I can't leave the room without him crying. This too shall pass?

R is currently lying on the floor with his head in his toy bucket chatting away. I love my little poppet so much even though I'm sleep deprived Grin

utopian99 · 20/09/2013 17:22

Love R chatting to his toy bucket. Grin

I seem to be unable to stop eating today. Pretty peeved with myself.

SpottyTeacakes · 20/09/2013 17:53

Just a small one Smile dp's football game tomorrow is an hour away with a 4:30 kick off so he won't be home until after the dc are in bed (gone seven) so they nice thing to do would be to stay at home with us before he goes, right? (I work too now Wink) but oh no he's working overtime leaving at 7am Angry so I will be on my own all day again. I feel like I'm always on my own with the dc he sees them for about 90 minutes a day Sad (I know this is better than those whose partner's work away just wanted to moan on here so I don't moan at him Grin)

SpottyTeacakes · 20/09/2013 17:56

Hmm I def wrote 'rant alert' at the beginning of that post!

itsMYNutella · 20/09/2013 18:37

spotty did you put it in little arrows? I don't know why but I find they disappear on the app - V annoying!

Utopian you can probably blame the moon for that too Grin

2Blessed I love the chatting. DS chatters away. Especially when strangers on the train smile at him. He gives them a big grin back and then usually starts to chatter or goes shy and chatters at his toys. Grin

DS had an amazing 1.5 hour nap thus morning & another 30-40 mins in the afternoon. It was a pity we only got about 20 minutes at playgroup but hey ho, better luck next week. I'll have to move a lot faster!

DS pulled up to standing today. First time I've seen him do that! Even better I was on a FaceTime call with my mum at the time so she got to see it too Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 20/09/2013 18:50

Yes I did!!

Ds slept 2.5 hours this morning apparently Confused

I just properly screamed at dp Blush I will apologise in a minute, I didn't mean to Grin ds was doing his usual screaming like he's being tortured when dp got him dressed for bed and I asked dp if he had pulled ds' vest sleeves down (surely defies the whole point of a long sleeved vest if you leave them rucked up under the grow?!). Anyway he hadn't which was fine I just said I'd do it. I started and ds was screaming again, it really stresses me out and dp was just staring watching what I was doing so I screamed 'stop staring raarrrrrrrrrr you're not helping ggggrrrrrrrr' it's actually quite funny but I think I might have upset dp Grin I get so stressed when ds cries like that!

WLmum · 20/09/2013 20:51

Don't worry spotty I regular shout grumble at DH over stupid things and then have to apologise.

Survived the day, was getting v grumpy but luckily had arranged to have kids tea at a friends - big 2 played beautifully with her 2, we had coffee and a bit if a goss which cheered me up rather. Wine is further cheering me as is ignoring all the jobs that need doing and planning on bed as soon as I've polished off my sausage and mash.

WLmum · 20/09/2013 23:49

First wake up so a big improvement on the last 2 nights.
hales how are doing with H's sleep? Hopefully you haven't clobbered dp yet!

2blessed · 21/09/2013 04:37

V quiet on the thread, hopefully lots of sleeping babies...

R was in with us for a few hours and literally took over the bed with his constant changing of position s.

WLmum · 21/09/2013 06:40

A better night here, only up 3/4 times and easier to settle so hopefully we're heading back to normal. Sure I'll have to do a bit of retraining though. Will start tonight. T slept less in the day yesterday and was pretty happy so I guess she's over the cold now.
DH taken her downstairs so I can catch an extra hour.

utopian99 · 21/09/2013 07:40

O normally sleeps in 4-hour chunks but for some reason I find it really hard to keep him to more than 40minutes after about 5.30.. Any ideas?

We're hoping to go to see some buildings for the Open House London weekend. Battersea power station amongst them - anyone in/around London it's a great opportunity for a snoop around the capital!

PurplePidjin · 21/09/2013 08:46

R slept 6:30-5:30 :o he was 10 months on Thursday

SpottyTeacakes · 21/09/2013 08:50

I'd just get up utopian Grin

Ds slept 6:50 until 6 then boob napped until 6:40. He's just woken from a very short nap though.

I'm really struggling with dd at the moment she is being horrendous. She just pulled out all my folded washing when we'd been having a nice morning together AngrySad

halestone · 21/09/2013 11:42

WL my nan had H last night so i could have a good sleepGrin i'm just cleaning the house before i go and pick her up. I'm considering sleep training now as well. But i'm not sure how as if i leave H in her cot she just stands up and tries to pull herself over it. I hope the retraining works well with C.

Spotty is it because you've gone back to work and shes testing her boundaries as things have changed?

Utopian, does he wake up after 40 minutes if you put him in bed with you? I hope you have a lovely day today.

Well done Pidj R has been doing some good sleeping recentlyEnvy

I'm shattered!

A full day at work yesterday, then 2 hours with the DC before DH arrived home with 2 colleagues who stayed for takeaway and left at about 10pm.

Then A woke up every 2 hours until we were awake for the day at 6.30am.

DH gave A nutella on toast for breakfast. He wondered how l could tell when he'd wiped his hands & face. Maybe the state of his sleeping bag...!

SpottyTeacakes · 21/09/2013 11:47

I think so hales Smile

Wrt sleep training you would just do the same...go in every few minutes but just lie her back down again (can she actually get out or does she just try? Ds is pretty small so the bar is in line with his mouth no way he would get out!)

Barbeasty · 21/09/2013 11:50

Hales might be right about your DD spotty .

DD really played up when l went back. She really seemed to understand that l was going every day, even though her childcare changed by just one extra day with MlL.

And it's worse because you're tired from working.

halestone · 21/09/2013 12:29

I'll lower the cot to its lowest setting today and then hopefully she won't have enough of a grip to get out. Its on the second to lowest setting now and the top of the cot is at her halfway point on her chest. So i know she'll be about a head bigger when its on its lowest point.

Fab day at Legoland yesterday. Dd1 went on all the big rides! I don't know where she gets her bravery from!

And theatre trip this morning was lovely too Smile

I'm knackered though! Baby lazza still full of snot. Not sure if it's a cold still or just linked to teething. Sleep is still terrible & think we need to revisit sleep training but do it properly this time!

SpottyTeacakes · 21/09/2013 16:34

Lazza ds is still so snotty I'm not sure but I think I can feel a tooth, he won't let me look though! Glad you had fun at legoland we really enjoyed it and I think because we didn't pay we were happy to leave once dd was knackered instead of feeling like we had to stay and get our money's worth.

Giving the dc dinner now as dp and I are having Mexican when he gets home Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 21/09/2013 16:40

Does anyone know if babies can get reflux back at this age? My friends ds had it quite bad but it got better but the last few days he's been being sick again, fine otherwise. He's ten months, eight corrected.

PurplePidjin · 21/09/2013 17:48

We've done quite gentle sleep training and night weaning...

First i swapped night feeds for a cuddle while rocking in the feeding chair but if he shouted at me, he got put down in his cot for 30 seconds then picked up to try again. After a week/10 days i started a cross between gradual retreat and cc - if he's ready to go to sleep, i hold his hand through the cot bars; if he wriggles, plays, shouts etc he gets left for 5/10/15 minutes. If he wakes and doesn't immediately resettle he gets calpol and a clean nappy. I also have to know he's not over tired, if he is he's wakeful later, so i provide plenty of opportunities for daytime naps (car, sling, pushchair or quietly at home) at key times of the day. R likes to sleep after a bf so usually 7:30, 10:30 and 3:00 then bedtime feed 5:45 ish.

He's been teething this week, but he now sleeps 6-5:00/5:30 with one or no wake ups, although noise outside disturbs him so he can need help between 6 and 9. He wakes up and chats to himself happily, which is how i know he's had enough sleep - he gets cross at being awake at other times! Dp and i were both early wakers as children so it's something i accept about being a parent. When he's bigger, he'll have a clock and be taught to stay quiet until a more reasonable hour :o

lazzaroo · 21/09/2013 18:26

spotty we stayed until they closed! Got little ones in their PJ's and they both slept on the way home. It's a 2 hour journey for us so had to make t worthwhile. And we definitely have another tooth through. It's up the top but not in the middle, It's her lateral incisor.

pidj I wish we were on only 3 feeds a day & at predictable times. Feels like baby lazza still feeds loads. Maybe I need to start trying to reduce feeds. Is his 10.30 nap a long one? Seems a long time to 3pm nap if not?

lazzaroo · 21/09/2013 18:29

Sorry spotty forgot to say...dd1 had reflux and it drastically improved when she could sit up & eat proper food. It never came back as such but she has always had a very sensitive gag reflex & even some strong smells will make her sick! (not sure that actually helps!!)
