Spotty i'm so sorry about your sister. Could you be pre-emptive with your job and explain what happened in your past and that you where just a teenager.

Willyou and Lazza hope your babies are feeling better and that your both ok.

Beasty i love your DD stories, i can't wait till my DD is older when i read your stories.

We also have a bath stander and an all round dare devil. Its weird because my niece is such a girly girl and never does anything daring, but H just wants to experiment and basically do anything she shouldn't. Do you think its possible to order eyes in the back of your head? Because i need them with H.

You're not an awful person spotty. I think I agree with hales. Hope it works out for you whatever you decide.

WLmum · 11/09/2013 17:14

Not awful at all spotty. We all have a past and have done things that seemed like a good idea at the time but in retrospect were not! If you know it's going to be revealed it is probably worth speaking to your boss and explaining that you were just a teenager and are now a respectable mum of 2 etc. I think it would be very harsh for them to rescind your employment.

We have a bath crawler/diver here - the big 2 were always so risk averse!

Got lots of use of the ergo today - walked to sils with T in it as sil lives up 2 flights of stairs and there's nowhere downstairs to leave a pram, and been wearing her in it just now while making bread with the bigs. Even with a biscuit bribe T did not want to be left out!

SpottyTeacakes · 11/09/2013 17:29

I will speak to my manager (the boss is too scary) but I'm not sure I will get there before the letter. Dreading going to work now.

Ds has been crying all afternoon I can only assume its teeth?

WL do you have T on your back? I find it quite hard to have ds on the front now as it hurts my (dodgy!) hips.

IsThatTrue · 11/09/2013 19:08

Sorry to hear of your sis spotty and I hope things work out for you with work.

Well DS had 3 naps today. All of which started off with him falling asleep on my lap while I was working! Shock he hasn't done that in months! I even transferred him to his cot for 2 of them, the last one was at 4 pm so I just let him have half an hour on my lap.

So unlike him. Fx we have an equally 'unlike him' night!

MaMaPo · 11/09/2013 19:42

We have our first cold! I'm assuming it's a cold, although so far it's just a phlegmy cough. Nasty. She cried a bit during feeds so I think she might have a sore throat too. And her personality was so different today - few smiles, lots of grumbles. Fair enough really. She's all dosed up and in bed, and soon I'm going out for drinks and dinner with friends. Was out for a fancy dinner last night for my husband's birthday too so am feeling like a proper adult human person.

Spotty - sorry to hear of your sister and I hope everything goes ok with work.

WLmum · 11/09/2013 19:50

mama jealous of your proper adult personness! My mum is going to babysit on Monday night so DH and I can go out - I'm feeling very hemmed in just now.

spotty I'm currently wearing T on my front and back depending on the situation but my aim is to get us both used to back carries more as I'm sure it will be better for my back but I will miss kissing her little furry head!

Could you make a special trip to work to see your manager so you can beat the letter? Pers

WLmum · 11/09/2013 19:51

Personally I think 8 years is a long time to hold something against you. Fx they are understanding.

SpottyTeacakes · 11/09/2013 20:01

Not really, I'm in on Friday so will just go and see her as soon as I get in. It is plus I only told the dr because he asked it wasn't drugs I had a problem with per se. Oh well I suppose it all depends on their policies.

Lucky you mama! We're off to London next month. Dp wants to make a day of it which would mean feeding ds before we go and not getting home until gone midnight. Will my milk be ok? I was thinking of dream feeding him when I get back?

WL I want to wear ds on the front for the cuddles but can only manage the play park! I can get him onto my back fairly easily though even if we're out(so from a high chair say) he's still a bugger for pulling my hair though!

utopian99 · 11/09/2013 20:35

Spotty I agree with others surely it'll be okay on discretion? Fx for you anyway though..

I still mostly wear O on the front because he likes it i'm lazy. Went to a sling meet the other day though (good recommendation, pidj) and got good pointers on back carries. Have decided to get dh a custom r&r as I found material that looks like his north face bag so more easy back carries in that not that it's for me, oh no but agree I am a bit addicted to kissing his gorgeous head.

Beasty more did stories please! V entertaining for the night feeds. Grin

WillYouDoTheFandango · 11/09/2013 20:49

Evening all.

Fx they use their discretion Spotty.

Hope all the other poorly babies feel better soon.

DS is very subdued today. He's wiped more snot than I thought possible into my hair though.

Hoping for a good night but bit holding my breath.

WLmum · 11/09/2013 22:25

I think your milk would be fine spotty but I would do the dream feed, partly for the closeness, partly for the paranoia!

utopian which sling meet did you go to? I couldn't find any local ones - nearest was Farnham or godalming.

Sorry for all the poorly babies. T defo has some tooth action going on but no sign of them breaking through yet. She doesn't seem too troubled (fx) but has had hot red cheeks on and off for the last day or so, and has been much keener on finger food (and her fingers) than the spoon. She managed a strip of home made southern fried chicken tonight which I was quite impressed with. She's been a bit dribbley too which is most unlike her.

Poor dd2 is breaking my heart being sad about going to pre-school and saying she wants to stay with me. Even if it weren't a preschool day, its a working day. Luckily her pal will be there tom.

lazzaroo · 12/09/2013 06:22

Yawn! Can't remember wake ups last night but they were plentiful & dd1 came in with me at some point! All up at 5.20am!

I bought baby lazza a few new tops yesterday, got 12-18months for a bit of growing space....thet're already a bit snug!

WL that must be hard, hope she settles in quickly.

mama seem to be lots of colds about. Baby lazza is a continuous stream of snot at the moment. Hope you enjoyed your night out.

The house is a mess but I am struggling to muster up the energy to do anything about it.

IsThatTrue · 12/09/2013 06:25

A good night, other than the fact he spent most of it in my bed Hmm I'm beginning to wonder if his rooms too cold, it says 19 on his monitor but his hands are freezing in the night. Confused

SpottyTeacakes · 12/09/2013 06:27

Same here lazza. I think I'll just Hoover as that always makes it look better!

Both dc up at 5:30 Hmm

Poor dd2 WL Sad dd sometimes says that but usually just because she doesn't want to get dressed! I've always told her I've had such a boring time whilst she's been at nursery and I didn't do anything fun Wink

WillYouDoTheFandango · 12/09/2013 08:33

Sorry about the early starts.

Ugh we've been up all night! I know I slept 12-2, and 3-4:30 but that was it. J fell back to sleep at 6 but he was crying in his sleep so no sleep for me.

I have to shop/wash/iron/pack for our holiday today, not really in the holiday spirit Hmm

utopian99 · 12/09/2013 09:38

Poor dd WL, hope she feels happier soon. Think it'll be a wrench when O hits school age.. We went to the sling meet in godalming; bit of a trek but very friendly and helpful.

Sorry about poorly and snotty babies, hope everyone gets better soon. O's rash was almost gone and I put him in a new babygro overnight without washing it first so is now back. Argh! STUPID mummy.

SpottyTeacakes · 12/09/2013 09:47

Oh I'm not far from godalming we often go to the garden centre there they do fun stuff at Halloween too Smile

halestone · 12/09/2013 10:44

WL sorry about your DD2 hopefully she'll enjoy herself that much that she will change her mind.

Willyou, sorry about the poor sleep give yourself a glass of wine (its night time somewhere) and get in the holiday spirit Grin

Lazza i'd just relax today housework can wait until you've abit more sleep.

Mama hope C is feeling better today.

We still have clingy screamy non sleepy H but DP isn't in work tonight so i'm letting him have a sleep now and then hes getting H and i'm having some me time. Well i'm cleaning the house then having a bath. Then i may just make DP take me and H out.

OP posts:
SpottyTeacakes · 12/09/2013 16:18

Ds can walk with him push along walker now Smile I've only just tried it as I usually put the brake on it but off he went he hated it and cried the whole time

SpottyTeacakes · 12/09/2013 18:15

I know someone with revival tickets for sale if anyone wants them ahem utopian Wink

lazzaroo · 12/09/2013 18:52

Lazy day here, but not particularly relaxed as baby lazza a bit grumpy & not sleeping well due to her blocked up nose & teething pain I think.

Haven't got walker out of loft yet but maybe that'll be a job for the weekend :-)

Hope work tomorrow is ok spotty

Last solo night tonight...thank god! Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 12/09/2013 19:08

Thanks lazza. I'm still in two minds as to whether or not I should speak to them about it first....

I bet you'll be so pleased to get dh back Smile

WillYouDoTheFandango · 12/09/2013 19:48

If I could just have one bedtime where I don't get head butted in the eye I'd be a happy mum! Alas tonight is not to be that night Confused

I'm coming down with what J's got. I thought that maybe while I'm off work I might get away with one holiday without a stinking cold Hmm

Good luck tomorrow spotty

WLmum · 12/09/2013 21:56

Dd2 had a good day at pre-school today Smile. I think she's a bit under the weather -I had to give her her inhalers this morning, and is generally finding it all a bit exhausting. She's home with me tomorrow, just got her gym class after lunch.
I'm sure T will have a tooth by tomorrow - can see it so clearly but it hasn't broken through yet. Maybe then she'll sleep through again (please!)
Not sure if she fell or bit a hingey bit on the stair gate after tea but she under her top lip was bleeding Sad when the howling had settled down I gave her magic boob which fixed her. She took loads of milk though, then had a bedtime feed - she must be stuffed to the gills.

Good luck for tomorrow spotty. Fx they are sensible about it.

hales poor you and H. Hope you managed some nice you time and a bit if nice family time too.

willyou fx you get more sleep tonight. Where are you off to?
