Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
SpottyTeacakes · 10/09/2013 18:37

Not really as it's tea on a Monday but lunch on a tues and fri. I think it's because I said 'oh ds can eat anything apart from honey' and I should have been more specific!

I booked harrods Santa's grotto today Grin so excited!

IsThatTrue · 10/09/2013 18:38

Even reformed frozen muck as a one off isn't bad per de. Not ideal but its not going to poison any babies.

If its likely to be every meal she had them spotty is perhaps hint that you like his main meal at dinner as he sleeps better, but as he ate so much at hers today he didn't eat well at home, so could she just do picnic style lunch?

lazza if she screamed straight away and the lump came straight up I reckon she's fine. Keep an eye on (unusual) vomitting just in case but concussion is pretty unlikely. says the woman who's DS has fallen straight backwards from standing, split his lip open from crawling and pulled himself out of the highchair over the side!!

Oh speaking of such we got a new highchair today as DS really wasn't safe in the ikea one anymore, the lap belt just wasn't enough to keep him in. And despite it hurting quite a lot when he jumped out, he kept trying to repeat the process! Hmm Argos have a mama and papas 'bop' highchair for 1/2 price atm so we got that. Nice safe 5 point harness! :)

SpottyTeacakes · 10/09/2013 19:38

Oh WL it's going fine thanks. So much to learn and I'm really not used to face to face work! They mainly seem really nice. Boss is scary and I think can be quite mean Hmm. Good luck with your meeting Smile

WLmum · 10/09/2013 19:57

Yep lazza she'll be fine. I think you do know when it's actually bad. Dd2 fell down the stairs this morning - I was upstairs (2 flights) so didn't see what happened. She was fine after a bit of a howl.
isthat your ds is such a monkey! The highchair must have been scary. Me thinks he'll have you to a&e a few times! Don't forget, chicks dig scars!
I have the same problem with mil and treats. They get far more there than they would here and it makes me a bit sad as I don't get to treat them much as I don't want them to have too much.
willyou that sounds cute! Early bedtimes are nice but sleepy baby cuddles are nicer.

lazzaroo · 10/09/2013 20:33

Thanks all. I'm so tired already and it's 3 more days till DH gets home Sad. must stop whinging & just get on with it!

Isthat I should have known she'd be trouble when she learnt how to get herself out of her bumbo! But your ds wins daredevil award hands down Smile. I don't think my nerves could take it!

GBBO then bed for me! Oh, how times have changed...

IsThatTrue · 10/09/2013 21:09

He's just dangerous. He bangs his head hard enough to leave a red mark at least 5 times a day! He's constantly slipping and tripping and falling off stuff. And climbing out . His new obsession is trying to climb out of the bath! It's a good job he's my third and I'm pretty neglectful laid back!

He's got an in built pressure switch atm though. Fast asleep to wide awake in the time it takes to put him in his cot!

IsThatTrue · 10/09/2013 21:11

Oh and lazza it's awful when DH is away. Everything just feels like much more effort. Don't worry about moaning, it's what we're here for!

WLmum · 10/09/2013 21:45

lazza line yourself up 3 treats to have each evening to celebrate another day passed.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 10/09/2013 22:21

Three days Lazza you can do it. (I like Lazza as a nickname it sounds friendly!)

Check to the daredevil baby obsessed with climbing out of the bath! He's forever covered in unidentified bruises Confused today I dropped my phone on his head and yy to the bloody spirit level baby!

J has eaten me out of house and home this evening after refusing all offers of lunch. Beef stew with cous cous, portion of steamed peas/carrots, rice cake, baby biscotti and a full pot full of fruit mush. Then some of my garlic bread and 13 oz of milk!

ISpyPlumPie · 10/09/2013 23:41

We have PIL pudding issues too. I'm all for them having some treats at grandparents, but it was getting out of hand so DH had a quiet word. MIL's way of improving things is now to say to DS1 "I've got [insert sugar/fat packed food of instant appeal to three year old boy] but you'll have to ask mummy if you can have one" while DH is bloody sat there too! Thanks for that MIL Hmm

WillYouDoTheFandango · 11/09/2013 01:08

Nothing like a bit if passive aggression eh Ispy? My mum did this to me last week (about coke ffs) but at least J's only 8 months and I can set her straight as she's my own mum.

Something weird's going on here. J has a sore something? Tickly cough? Throat? Nasal drip? Not sure but he keeps sort of spluttering awake, we're in the spare room. DP's pissed me off too and is now in turn pissed off with me. I was sat administering calpol and he comes in and helpfully suggests I turn off the light. Obviously I do as soon as i'm done. He then made an exasperated sigh as if he has to do everything himself and said "Give him here".

I snapped "What?" at him and he said "Would you like me to take him?" So the story will now be that he asked me that politely and I bit his head off! Which is really not what happened.

Meh, I just want some sleep!

2blessed · 11/09/2013 05:55

Thats some serious eating willyou, hope you got some sleep.

I bought a harness today as DS loves to stand up in his high chair after he's thrown a piece of food away. We were given a high chair as a gift but it doesn't have safety straps.

We get trying to stand up in the bath too isthat, I start drumming on the bath to distract him and usually he copies me.

He went to bed 8.30 - 5 had a quick bf and is back to bed

SpottyTeacakes · 11/09/2013 06:33

Ds woke at 3:30 but went back to sleep fine. I couldn't though Sad and he woke up at 5:40 lots of gurning (sp?) going on though so I suspect teeth...

lazzaroo · 11/09/2013 07:11

Lots of wake ups last night. She can't breath properly through her nose because of cold so feeding is tricky. She's also bringing up a lot of phlegm (sorry, tmi at breakfast time!). Got up at 5.20 but I've got her back down again already.

My eyes hurt!

SpottyTeacakes · 11/09/2013 08:03

My sister has just had her second mc. She'd already had two scans that showed a wriggly happy foetus with a heartbeat Sad

utopian99 · 11/09/2013 09:10

Oh spotty I'm so sorry for your sister...

Highchair wise we have a stokke which is great as evenwwithout the harness there's no way he can escape (I've watched him.have a good go.)

Also another bath stander. He got away from my hands yesterday and slipped. Caught him so only tears and shock but it made me think how easily he could go under and be unable to right himself. Scary.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 11/09/2013 09:29

Your poor sister Spotty, how many weeks was she?

J is covered in snot today, but he's much happier now it's coming down. Sounds similar to baby Lazza. We ended up in the spare bed so that he could sleep propped up on me. He coughed, sneezed and spluttered all night but at least he could breathe.

He seems happy enough now. He's violently beating a small rubber turtle with a plastic phone. I worry about this child.

SpottyTeacakes · 11/09/2013 09:39

I think she was nearly 8. Only had a scan on Saturday though. She has lupus so is blaming herself.

I never strap ds into his highchair but I generally plonk him in, feed him and take him out. He likes to stand in the bath too. We haven't had any unaided standing yet Smile

ISpyPlumPie · 11/09/2013 10:09

Your poor sister Spotty. Sending love.

Hope J and baby Lazza are feeling better soon.

Barbeasty · 11/09/2013 10:19

A tries to stand in the bath, and dives after toys so that he sort of kneels. He's a nightmare. And this morning DH heard DD crying, when she was having breakfast at her low seat/ tray. A had pulled himself up, stolen the spoon and was feeding himself her cereal! Apparently he did the same with her toast a few minutes later.

Spotty that's awful news.

We may have slept through from midnight to 4.47am. Either that or I was too tired to remember waking up!!

I showed DD my SIL's 20wk scan picture on Facebook yesterday. Her response was "oh but mummy now you won't be able to carry me". No, DD, that's aunty x's baby. There's absolutely no baby in my tummy. Her answer...."yes mummy, you have baby Amelia in your tummy".

How long before she starts telling people her latest fantasy?

WLmum · 11/09/2013 11:31

ispy I get the same - I have said no before and given my reason.

spotty so sorry for your sister. I've had 2 mcs too, and the one after a 'healthy' scan was def hardest. I don't have lupus and still mcd (like so many) so please tell her not to blame herself. It's all so easy to say but so so tough to go through.

2blessed · 11/09/2013 13:21

I'm so sorry spotty

Beasty I had a good chuckle at the breakfast story Grin

Lazy day for us. Trying to de clutter.

SpottyTeacakes · 11/09/2013 13:25

I've got a headache and I'm really tired. I've managed two loads of washing and have started dinner but that's it. Place is a bit messy and in need of a Hoover but I can't be bothered!

Ds is being a grump too Hmm

SpottyTeacakes · 11/09/2013 14:21

Shit shit shit. My work have asked my doctor to confirm that I've never had any contact with narcotics etc but she can't do that Blush about eight years ago (I was 18) I had a bit of a bad patch, anyway I went to my dr and told him how I was feeling, he asked if I ever took any drugs I told him yes (I think I only said Valium BlushBlush but I really can't remember I might also have mentioned the coke, speed and ecstasy BlushBlushBlush) and now it's all on my record so my dr has to tell them. She said some practices won't employ people with any sort of history so I might lose my job.

I probably sound like an awful person it was years ago though and only lasted a couple of months. The dr made me see a cpn and I only saw them once, I was fine just being a teenager Sad

lazzaroo · 11/09/2013 14:24

Sad news spotty

Baby lazza is still struggling with her cold. Might be tempted to have her in with me tonight. She also likes to stand in the bath....and crawl!

Just like to saye how on earth is it possible for shoes for such little feet to be so expensive! And why do my babies have such rapidly growing feet! Dd1 has gone up a whole size since we last got her measured so we've been squeezing her feet in the wrong shoes for quite some time!
