Urge I was having a really detailed and convoluted dream and feel like I've been dragged kicking and screaming out of it! J didn't drink his bedtime bottle so I knew I was due a wake up, but he held on and on and now I feel like death Confused

Hope everyone's knocking out some zeds

SpottyTeacakes · 10/09/2013 05:42

5:20 alarm sucks. Dp has made me coffee and toast though and is getting the children up whilst I mn get ready Grin

lazzaroo · 10/09/2013 05:58

spotty I have a 5.20 alarm too... she's quite cute & currently rampaging around the living room while I try to unstick my eyes!! Wink

Had a couple of wake ups, 12.30 and 4ish. Then up at 5.20.

We also have similar conversations about dh's commitments and He doesn't seem to understand why I get cheesed off when he plans golf (which takes forever!) the day after her gets back from three days away.

Baby lazza is also obsessed with everything dd1 has. She has been very patient but not sure how much longer that'll last! At least she gets a break when the cat walks in the room.....by far her favourite toy Smile

IsThatTrue · 10/09/2013 07:00

Well last night was better I suppose, up at 11.40-12.20, 3-3.40 and then in with us at 6.15 for a feed and up for the day. I just hope he naps today, yesterday was a nightmare!

2blessed · 10/09/2013 07:09

R fell asleep at 7, woke at 3, back to sleep at 3.30 and he's still sleeping Smile

MaMaPo · 10/09/2013 07:40

2blessed, that's a long sleep!

C woke like a banshee at 8.30pm - my fault for not giving her calpol at bedtime. Then up wriggling and wide awake at 4am. I left her to self-settle but by 4.45 she was just annoyed and agitated (and so was I) so I got her up for a feed. I just wish I knew why she had this propensity to be wide awake at 4am.

PurplePidjin · 10/09/2013 08:27

R now, generally, sleeps till 4 (4:30 last night) but then has an hour + of shouting before he'll go back to sleep. Not sure if i prefer this to the 5am starts or not, tbh Hmm

Barbeasty · 10/09/2013 08:45

A woke up, screamed and went back to sleep at 11, as did I without the scream! Then up and into my bed at midnight. Awake at 2, 3, 3.15, 3.30ish, 3.50ish, 4.37 and then I lay in bed awake until 4.55 so I could get up and turn my alarm off before it went off at 5am.

As I crept downstairs DD called out, so I had to let her out and bring her downstairs which completely disrupted my routine and made me late. Then A woke and I could hear the wailing from above us, so he was brought down to play!

I am tired! And glad I bought cake yesterday as I'm about to have some with more tea at my desk!

Caged beasty managed to cage himself yesterday when he crawled under a side table and got stuck. Very amusing!

WLmum · 10/09/2013 09:23

Wow beasty no wonder you're tired!

T wanted to get up at 5 this morning but I decided to try treating it like a night wake up. She had a full feed and a bit cuddle/rock put down, pick up etc and she was asleep again by 5.45 til 6.45 when DH was leaving for work and dd1 was getting up. I was pleasantly surprised but 8-5 is not enough night sleep for a baby or a mummy!

halestone · 10/09/2013 10:55

Beasty and Isthat i hope you have better sleeps tonight. Beasty eat all the cake Grin

2blessed thats a great sleep.

WL yay to T going back to sleep Grin

Barbeasty · 10/09/2013 11:08

Well the cake was eaten, and then my sandwiches. So I have to spread the fruit out for the rest of the day.

I've just arranged to go and look at a school for DD. They were lovely, but it feels so momentus. Especially as this is where she's likely to end up. We're going on Thursday.

Adds to seeing some 6 week olds at the library yesterday. I'm pleased though that I thought they were very sweet but no desire for another of my own (not to give birth, anyway...)

In fairness to A, he's really been feeding when he wakes. Not a half hearted since it's there type effort! And he's a bit sore around the nappy so I think might see another tooth any day.

As if his taking your finger/ hand, guiding it to his mouth and then biting hard wasn't enough already with just the bottom 2!!

SpottyTeacakes · 10/09/2013 14:41

My step mum gave ds chicken nuggets for lunch Shock I think I might have to send food with him.

WLmum · 10/09/2013 15:34

Oh dear spotty. How are you liking the new job? I'm trying to arrange a meet up with my old boss in a couple of weeks - so hoping she has something soon.

IsThatTrue · 10/09/2013 15:55

As a one off I wouldn't worry spotty but if its likely to be a regular occurance food parcels may make sense. Ds2 has had a couple of chicken nuggets as he's wanted the same as the big kids. But I wouldn't want him having them too often.

ISpyPlumPie · 10/09/2013 16:36

N's sum total of naps today = 2 x 10 mins car sleeps. Think this is a new 'personal best' even by his standards. Why don't they come equiped with a snooze button?

WillYouDoTheFandango · 10/09/2013 16:40

DS is being too funny it won't be funny at bedtime. He crashed out 1.5hours ago waking 40 minutes later. He then promptly fell asleep in my arms and has been there ever since.

I honestly can't rouse him for more than 5 seconds! He opens his eyes, looks at me and then drops fast asleep again. He even snored himself awake and did it! There's zero chance of an early bedtime tonight!

SpottyTeacakes · 10/09/2013 17:21

I'm pretty sure it would be a regular thing. My parents don't cook anything from scratch (jarred sauces and oven food mainly) they just don't see anything wrong with it whereas I do most things from scratch especially for the children.

Ds slept 90 minutes this morning, an hour at lunch and then I had to wake him after 45 minutes this afternoon to get dd from nursery.

2blessed · 10/09/2013 17:35

Ive had had to stop DP from giving DS chicken nuggets Hmm

Hope A's tooth makes an appearance soon beasty

lazzaroo · 10/09/2013 17:44

Baby lazza has just clonked her head on dd1's wooden kitchen! Got bruise and bit of a lump but no need to worry, right?! She's been ok since the initial tears.....got a feeling it's the first bump of many.

lazzaroo · 10/09/2013 17:48

Forgot to say....she's had rubbish sleep today as I've been to work and she's had naps in pushchair. I also am sure her teeth are playing up and/or she's getting a cold!

On the plus side (won't be at 3am when she starts practising in her cot) she has been doing some standing independently. I suddenly noticed the other day that she had let go of the sofa and not fallen down! Smile

PurplePidjin · 10/09/2013 17:57

There's chicken nuggets and chicken nuggets though. Reformed frozen muck is bad. Pieces of chicken breast in egg and breadcrumbs is fine imo. My mum would probably say that to me, and it would turn out to be the latter served with homemade wedges and lots of veg, she'd be winding me up. If you suspect KFC type nuggets, send Ella's!!

R likes chips, pizza, burgers and ice cream. The chips are oven cooked, the pizza homemade or a tiny slice alongside his real dinner, burgers (and sausages) are from the proper butcher and the ice cream proper local stuff - i break the bottom off my cone and make him his own tiny one to hold.

SpottyTeacakes · 10/09/2013 18:01

Lazza she'll be fine Smile

I make my own chicken goujons which I know are fine. My step mum wouldn't know how.

Barbeasty · 10/09/2013 18:07

How often does she have him? How difficult would it be to make some simple things which can be frozen and handed over to be heated up? Or yes to pouches. Once he's 1 we've recently discovered that DD likes the little dish ready meals. Not ideal, but not nuggets.

My MIL problem is puddings. Today DD had 3 jam tarts a chocolate and most of a cornetto (along side plenty of savoury stuff).

SpottyTeacakes · 10/09/2013 18:14

It's three meal times a week. I don't want to offend. It's dd two of those times too but she's older so it's not such a problem. I'd be happy with a sandwich tbh I know she's just trying to be kind!

lazzaroo · 10/09/2013 18:22

Thanks spotty Smile seriously, I don't remember dd1 being such a liability!

Can you tell you step mum that ds as cooked meal at tea time so she only needs to do sandwich or something similar?
