PrunellaDeVille · 09/09/2013 11:41

sorry to post and disappear, finding MN tablet app regularly doesn't work Angry

croquembouche never heard of it but i'm imagining a croque monsieur the size of an amuse bouche (sp) mmmm... so what is it really?

beasty loving A's wild caged beasty look

WL glad you managed to persuade DD2 she'd not be locked in Legoland, it's strange the odd ideas LOs get - i've a friend who's toddler won't sit down in the bath as he thinks he'll be washed away down the plughole!

utopian maybe a good bottle of wine each with the idea that they store it to drink with O when he reaches 18? a nice present but meaningful and suggesting longevity in their role in his life

love the idea of night weaning but when C can smell me near he'll put up with nothing less than boob

thanks for all the reassurance yesterday, he seems alot better today so far. He didn't rally yesterday and had become really lethargic by mid afternoon so i rang 111 Blush to see what they reckoned, they got me more worried and sent me to OOH GP (only a 5 min walk so not a huge effort just in case) but he confirmed C is just fighting off what looks like a throat infection and to relax and give him all the boob he wants [happy baby emoticon]

SpottyTeacakes · 09/09/2013 11:45

Good news pru it was best to get him checked.

Croquembouche is like a giant towel of profiteroles!

SpottyTeacakes · 09/09/2013 11:46

Tower not towel Hmm

PurplePidjin · 09/09/2013 12:02

Tower of profiteroles? Shock Ours are getting sangers, quiche and cake!!

2blessed · 09/09/2013 13:15

Tower of profiteroles? Sounds like heaven... M&S are currently doing white chocolate and raspberry eclairs. T'was gorgeous!

Can anyone help? Posted this www.mumsnet.com/Talk/going_back_to_work/1847459-Help-Flexible-working-request a while ago and eager for any ideas.

Glad DS is getting better pru. Great suggestion about the wine too.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 09/09/2013 13:21

Mama we have identical babies! J did exactly the same as C last night. Even down to the 11:30 calpol and the 4am screaming fit. I put him in with us in the end as he was so uncomfortable. Nothing but a feed will settle him either if he wakes (but he only seems to wake when starving IYSWIM so I just feed him). Do not do as I once tried and replace his bottle with water. It makes them furious if they're actually hungry!

Think J is dropping to 1 nap. He's not slept since 8am and is fighting sleep now despite being tired. Anyone want to buy a baby?

Stacks · 09/09/2013 16:46

I'm being squealed at, so making this quick. Is wheezing in a baby bad? T sounds like he's got a 40 a day habit... Coughing and wheezing away.

Barbeasty · 09/09/2013 17:25

If his tummy goes up under his ribs when he breathes in (not v good description) it needs checking today (I think it's bronchiolitis they can get). Otherwise our drs haven't been bothered. If you think he's struggling get him checked. We had inhalers for DD at one point.

PurplePidjin · 09/09/2013 18:07

I would get any breathing difficulty checked just in case x

utopian99 · 09/09/2013 18:27

I second what pidj says stacks.

spotty loving a towel of profiteroles! Grin Mine didn'tlook as pro as a bakery would do it, but was fun stacking and larking about with caramel.. Dh has made himself caramel lattices with the leftovers to stick in hisice cream, so win-win.

pru great idea for wine to put away. Was also thinking of small fruit trees as one has just finished their garden and one is in middle of redoing theirs, and fruit trees would keep giving back, but they'd have to be pretty small..

utopian99 · 09/09/2013 18:33

Also loving caged beasty!

lazzaroo · 09/09/2013 18:39

Evening all. Been to dr's. It s dribble rash but very bad and her skin 'could have ezcma tendencies' which is why it's so aggravated. He prescribed some steroid cream to try & get it under control. I don't really like our gp but he gets brownie points for saying 'oh what beautiful children' when we walked in! Grin

Gave baby lazza a bit of jelly today. She wasn't too sure what to make if it but enjoyed touching it!

Work tomorrow Sad am sure she's cutting another tooth so completely expecting a bad night. She's falling asleep on me now!

PurplePidjin · 09/09/2013 18:44

apps.rhs.org.uk/rhsplantfinder/

There isn't anything for R, but rose is still going strong in my gran's garden thirtymumble years later :)

Glad it's not serious, Lazza

WLmum · 09/09/2013 19:57

spotty mummies need to be warm too - ooh reminds me I have a maternity coat to eBay!

Am mildly annoyed with DH - I'd made plans for us as a family to get together with a few other families on Sunday, based on it being a non-working Sunday for him. He told me last night that he can't go because he has gig tickets. He didn't put it on the calendar but 'told me about it ages ago'. He needs to bog off and I need some grown up time out. I'm afraid I've been a bit shitty about it.

Barbeasty · 09/09/2013 19:59

Why is tumble dryer fluff so appealing? Twice we had to hoike out a chewed lump from A's mouth this evening.

Why has screaming as a general form of communication returned with a vengeance? Especially when being held so your mouth is near my ear.

Why does being held still so I can change your nappy elicit screams which suggest I am in fact killing you?

Why is whatever DD is playing with the most attractive thing in the world? To the extent that DD now sits facing the back of the sofa to protect her stuff.

SpottyTeacakes · 09/09/2013 20:15

Ds is the same beasty. He shrieks like a dinosaur (or at less how one would imagine a dinosaur to shriek).

Knackered been home from work for an hour and need to be out the house by six zzzzzz

Lazza steroid cream works wonders for dd so fx it helps your dd

utopian99 · 09/09/2013 20:38

Think we need steroid cream too, off to docs again tomorrow. They must be sick of the sight of me.

pidj great link - have found a (ds name) mulberry tree!

beasty O is th same about Nappy changes and now Will Not stay still. The only way I can get it done is standing up. Rhgrghh...

IsThatTrue · 09/09/2013 20:50

beasty I had a great conversation with ds2 this morning on how I understood that nappy changing and dressing him was indeed akin to child abuse and I would phone social services in due course, as long Ashe let me finish. Cue ds1 wandering in saying 'mummy who are social services and why does ds2 want you to call them?' Grin

Barbeasty · 09/09/2013 21:10

Oh no isthat. So is it nursery or school who will be hearing about the need for SS?

One of DH's colleague's daughter (aged 7) saw a dwarf at the weekend, and asked if they had special powers. I don't know if the remarks ever end!

We had to explain to nursery that DD calls all spots chicken pox, even pen mark spots. All from a panicked conversation between me and DH about whether she had a 2nd bought on a nursery morning!

IsThatTrue · 09/09/2013 21:34

It's school, Ds1 is nearly 7. I did explain why I said it and he laughed so I'm hoping he knew it was a joke Hmm

DS has been asleep for an hour. Do I risk trying to sleep now?! Sod it too tired, I will sleep now and hope he doesn't wake up in the next half hour as that really disorientates me!

WLmum · 09/09/2013 22:46

Been for my swim and 50 lengths later I'm in a better mood!

ISpyPlumPie · 09/09/2013 22:47

Just catching up and can really identify with :-

baby who will not settle for anything other than boob at night

baby who finds whichever toy older sibling is playing with the ultimate object of desire, and an older sibling who is therefore very protective over said toys

older DC who picks up on absoutely every throw-away comment, and will then cross examine you on the same or bring it up weeks later when you've completely forgotten you even said it - it's a bit like living constantly under a police caution.

DH who is incapable of adding anything to the calender and then announces the day before my (once a month, and clearly marked on said calender way in advance) book group that he has to go on a work thing and he had "too much to remember" to mention it earlier. Guess who's not going to book group this month Angry.

halestone · 09/09/2013 23:04

Stacks how is DS now? I hope your both ok.

Lazza brownie points to your GP. I'm glad your DD is getting it treated.

Utopian, get DS checked by your GP whenever you feel he needs to be. Someone i think on one of our threads said that Drs love seeing babies as it breaks up their day abit.

Beasty/Isthat/Willyou we have the same problem its been going on over a week now i need a valium Wink

Spotty i hope your new coat is nice.

WL i am angry when my DP is thoughtless as well. I think you have every right to be make it clear your upset.

halestone · 09/09/2013 23:07

Ispy sorry your missing your book club. Could you wait until DP was home one night and just go out and leave him with the children go to a friends and tell him you organised it ages ago Grin

ISpyPlumPie · 09/09/2013 23:40
