Glad work went well Spotty.

I fell asleep with J yesterday and he had 3.5h in the afternoon only waking at 5:30. This did not make for a happy bedtime. He finally went down at 10pm, he nearly broke me! But them he obviously realised I was at the end of my rope as he slept through until 6:45 and is back asleep now! I upped his lunch so I gave him finger foods as normal but also a bowl of fruity porridge too. I feel like Mary poppins today Grin

MaMaPo · 03/09/2013 08:10

These babies are keeping us on our toes! C fed to sleep fine at a friend's place, woke up happy as anything at 9.30pm when we caught the bus home, then took ages to feed to sleep, at 10.30pm. But then she slept until 6.15am which is great.

Bought her some lovely wooden blocks yesterday. We're in Copenhagen and some of the stores have children's furniture. As you can imagine, there is some seriously stylish Danish kids furniture out there. I want all of it! (We bought none of it.)

PurplePidjin · 03/09/2013 08:22

R put himself to sleep at 7:15. Woke at 4. Back to sleep at 5 having not left the cot. Woke for the day at 7:30!

:o:o:o:o:o

Hurray for R! We had the worst night for a long time, but I feel worlds better after pain au chocolate for breakfast (any excuse.) O ate an entire bowl of fruit porridge and is now playing quietly with his bricks to make it up to me..

MaMaPo · 03/09/2013 10:44

This baby has napped for 2.5 hours so far this morning. We're on holiday! We want to go out! But she's been so sleep deprived I'm loathe to wake her. Lucky our friends have such a nice apartment here...

AnnMumsnet · 03/09/2013 11:38

hello ladies - sorry to butt in but I am looking for MNers to take part in an online group next week about weaning.
I'm specifically looking for first time parents with a baby aged 4-10 mnths who are starting to think about or wean onto solid food.
There's a prize draw for taking part. I can send you full details if you PM me Smile
thanks very much......

ISpyPlumPie · 03/09/2013 13:06

Sorry Ann - would definitely be interested, but don't think I qualify as am on DC2.

Yay Pidge Smile.

Mama/Utopian - really hope some sleepy dust comes your way soon.

Just dropped DS1 off for his first session in pre-school. He looked so grown up in his little uniform. Felt a little bit anxious about it, which surprised me as he's been going to nursery since he was 1. Think this just feels far more like a step towards big school. Needn't have worried -he practicaly ran through the door and announced "I'm here!"

ISpyPlumPie · 03/09/2013 13:07

Should have said I felt a little bit anxious, not DS1.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 03/09/2013 15:12

I replied to that Ann, have participants been notified?

2blessed · 03/09/2013 15:44

Great sleep pidj

Thanks for that ddas def makes me feel better.

mama R has started using me as a dummy too, yesterday I stuck his real dummy in his mouth otherwise I'll get nothing done.

Really grumpy lo this afternoon, now 1 of the top front teeth are coming through and he has a cold Sad

Took him to get weighed this morning and he is 19 odd lbs at exactly 8 months. The weighing lady recommended I see a hv as his weight hasn't increased a great deal. Hv said he's fine, she's not worried and that some babies level off. Now a bit worried. Dp says he expected R to weigh more now. I suppose he will go back to wanting to put a rusk in his bottle.

ddas · 03/09/2013 15:53

Some of these sleeping babies need to teach the others how to sleep! We're still totally hit & miss. Had a few nights last week when slept through then awful night yesterday! Although not going to complain as before every night was bad so at least now she sometimes gives us time to recover!

What centile was he on previously compared to now though? Growth does slow as they get older but what matters is whether they are following same centile in their red book.

SpottyTeacakes · 03/09/2013 17:46

Sorry haven't read everything...

2blessed that sounds fine to me Hmm if you're not worried about him... Ds was 16lb at just over seven months and had dropped a few lines but they weren't worried

PurplePidjin · 03/09/2013 18:22

R was 17lb 13 at 9 months and nearing the 25th centile! 19lb is a great weight, don't forget stage 1 car seats are 20lb/9 months :)

SpottyTeacakes · 03/09/2013 18:25

Oh good point pidj. I don't know what ds weighs but he's nowhere near the top of the seat?

PurplePidjin · 03/09/2013 18:32

0+ goes to 13kg, 1 starts at 9kg :)

lazzaroo · 03/09/2013 18:37

Hi all! We're back from a fab holiday Smile perfect weather & just lovely time. We went to Jersey. Got back last Friday and I then slumped into return to work blues!! Had first full day today. Baby lazza was fine, but pretty pleased to see me & desperate to feed when I got home. She ate well during the day but not keen on formula.

I'm quite suprised though that boobs didn't feel any fuller when I got home. Don't know what that means, if anything!

Haven't had chance to catch up on everything but can tell sleep is still a mixed bag for everyone. Same here! And I guess she may okay catch up with feeds overnight?!

itsMYNutella · 03/09/2013 18:42

pidj I'm sure our carseat goes up to 13 kilos (about 28lb?) argghh wasn't expecting to even think about newsing to buy him a new one yet...

2blessed like the others have said as long as he is following his line ish and the hv isn't worried then I wouldn't be worrying. I don't know what DS weighs - but it's around 8 kilos (so 16lb?) he just turned 8 months at the weekend Smile. He isn't a fat baby, he is all muscle and has a very vigorous training regime! Grin

Those with babies that are starting to pull/stand up... What was the precursor to it? DS is close to proper crawling; but his efforts seem to have changed from balancing and wobbling on all fours (knees & hands) to pushing his legs straight while his arms are outstretched ( so he ends up on toes/feet & hands) Confused there are some definite pulling up efforts starting to happen too... Blimey baby! You couldn't stay nice an calm on the floor for a minute could you?
He is also bending a leg up under himself and looks like he will sit himself up soon too.... Anyone want to swap a quiet non crawling baby for my happy crazy kamikaze hooligan baby?

SpottyTeacakes · 03/09/2013 18:43

Same here re boob fullness lazza ds still seems to have a good feed though. Glad you had a good holiday Smile

itsMYNutella · 03/09/2013 18:46

Ahhh cross posted -pidj phew! Good then we can ask for his big erf seat for Christmas hopefully.

Welcome back from holiday lazza! Sorry about the return to work blues. I find planning another holiday is the best cure Wink

Oh, and we are off to England on Thursday. We will be driving over so I can stick up on essentials I can't wait! Although I'm not looking forward to a long drive with DS Hmm

SpottyTeacakes · 03/09/2013 18:47

Ds does that Nutella. Sometimes babies bear walk instead of crawl (hands and feet instead of knees)

2blessed · 03/09/2013 18:59

Blinking phone, thought I had responded ages ago.

He was on 91st at birth then went to 75th until july and now he's close to bottom of 50th. His df has made it clear he is not happy Hmm

Things are not good may have to nc and start a thread.

R pulls himself up to stand and does these deep plies really fast when music is playing. I so love my little poppet. Makes everything else worth it Smile

2blessed · 03/09/2013 19:01

Glad you had a good holiday lazza

PurplePidjin · 03/09/2013 19:13

2blessed pm me if you like

This controlled crying malarkey. Is it meant to take 15 minutes on the second day? Only, i got the impression it was hard...

It's going to bite me on the arse now, isn't it Hmm

Stacks · 03/09/2013 19:14

Well, last night was a great night for us! I fed DS to sleep at 7:30, put him down awake though, and kept my hand on his back like I used to pre CC. When he was calm and still, but still awake, I left the room. He cried for less than a minute before falling asleep, and slept till 5am. 7:30-5!! Brought him into bed with me then and fed back to sleep till 7:45. I still feel exhausted though, I think it'll take my body a while to adjust back to actually getting some sleep.

Spotty, glad your first day went well. Good luck for your next shift.

Jack how did work go?

I wrote all this hours ago, but got interrupted by T. Bed time now, so I'll post then read back again.

SpottyTeacakes · 03/09/2013 19:18

Oh 2blessed I hope you're OK?

Stacks that's such good news, you will feel knackered for a while but your body will adapt again Smile

Pidj sounds to me like R was ready for it!
