the longest Oscar has slept is 3 hours ! I am grateful we are back to every 2 hours again and I can't imagine him ever sleeping through.

SunnyL · 26/09/2013 09:11

When i read up about the 4 month regression it described babies as cranky and miserable. It didnt say the child would sing, coo and shriek with laughter when she wakes up. Maybe Ive got a cheerful regressioner?

Mutley77 · 26/09/2013 10:08

The longest DD has ever gone is 7pm to 3am and that is very rare - perhaps six times in total. I haven't done a dream feed yet as I'm reluctant to muck about with her "long stretch" which is always from 7 onwards - I don't want to encourage her that she needs feeding more regularly!! Although I know it does work well for some.

I feel lucky if she goes 7pm to 6am with one feed in between and can't see an end to it - am knackered - sounds awful but one of the things I most want to do is have a few glasses of wine and not worry about having to get up in the night or early in the morning!!! DD is ff but if DH and I share the night we do one feed each so there is no full night for anyone!!

MrsBri · 26/09/2013 10:17

Yes, we've been to the GP, Pink. He just said lactulose to soften the poo and Calpol if she's in pain. I might try watered down OJ if she doesn't go today though as it's been 48 hours. She doesn't seem as uncomfortable now, but until her blockage is sorted I don't think she'll feed properly.

And onto the sleeping subject, she needs to eat enough during the day so she doesn't need to wake twice during the night. We're a bit tired here too. :-/

Sunny, Amy chats and coos to herself in bed. It's too cute!

Last night she crawled across my legs, heading to her bed! She's showing very little inclination to roll, as all she does on her tummy is attempt crawling. It's bonkers!

MrsBri, M sometimes goes 4 or 5 days between poos Shock but seems happy enough with it. Farts are horrific though, VERY stinky! We're currently at 48 hours and counting...

Littlemiss, M sleeps from 7pm ish to 11pm ish, when we get him up for a feed, then goes down again around midnight and through until 6 or 7am. Not sure how long he'd go if we didn't get him up for a feed, but we prefer doing it that way round than me having to get up at 3am and feed when I'm completely half asleep. He is massive now though, about 18lbs or so I think, don't know if that has anything to do with it?

rrreow · 26/09/2013 13:00

I think our sleep is regressing too. 3 wakeups for feeds last night. DS1 didn't sleep through until about 22 months (and we definitely tried to help him along, but in the end it wasn't anything we did, he was just ready and stopped waking). And DH is being a bit (understatement) unsympathetic and unappreciative about all the stuff I do (parenting, running the household & working), so feeling a bit down about it all Sad

Breastfeeding here and today is day 4 without a poo.. I am very scared of the explosion that is bound to happen sometime soon.. thank god for reusable nappies as they do seem to contain the poonamis usually. My whole life is about poo right now. The other day I spent 20 minutes in the toilet with DS1 while he was having a poo. I can think of more fun ways to spend my time!!

MrsBri · 26/09/2013 16:33

The gap between poos doesn't bother me, it's the fact she screams in agony with her farts / from being bunged up. :-( It's really hard to deal with for everyone, and seeing her in so much pain is awful.

I can cope with the poonamis! :-)

We have had a poo which looks like it was the thing bunging her up now, so I'm hoping it improves from now on!

We've not had a poo since Sunday. We're flying to Greece tomorrow. Who wants to bet that we get a poomageddon at 30,000feet?!

Sunbeam18 · 26/09/2013 17:08

Very jealous of those good sleepers. We get 830 till about 330 most nights, then down again until about 6 and then down again till 9. The best we had was 8 hours in one stretch followed by another 3 hours. Am so glad he goes back to sleep again after the 6am wake - I really couldn't bear my day starting before 7am!

curiousgeorgie · 26/09/2013 18:05

Sephy hates to sleep in the day, but will go 12 hours at night now. Every second of sleep she gets during the day is hard earned, holding her, shushing and bouncing... I'd rather she slept slightly less at night and gave me a good break in the afternoons.

My DD1 used to go 12 hours and sleep for 2-3 hours between feeds all day. From 3 weeks old!!

I am traumatised by this baby!! I should maybe have quit at 1 Wink

arlandria666 · 26/09/2013 20:27

Elliott has never slept through :(
He goes down between 7 and 7.30...he was going til 12 then 4.30 waking properly at 7.30 but the past week he wakes about every hour and a half I am shattered it's like having a brand new baby again yaaaawwwwwn

Steffanoid · 27/09/2013 08:19

sunny I dont think ive ever wished it upon someone but I definitely hope you get a poo before your flight to greece, a poonami is not the way to start a holiday!

Sarah2506 · 27/09/2013 09:26

I have no idea how you people are packing for planes. We are driving to the lakes tomorrow and have three bags of assorted stuff, a suitcase for each of us, walking rucksacks, bath, pram, travel cot, changing bag. I don't think we will ever leave the country again.

Anyone done a five hour drive with the Beans? Will she sleep or cry the whole way?!

HungryHorace · 27/09/2013 10:00

Sarah, when we drove back to my parents the other week the car was rammed solid with DD's stuff! Crazy how much she needs.

Our journey isn't as long as it's about 3 hours without a stop. DD didn't cry but was awake / bored for some of it judging by her face at the services!

As they're not meant to be in their car seats more than 1.5-2 hours it really made the journey feel quite long with a feeding / get DD out of seat stop.

Sunbeam18 · 27/09/2013 12:08

Sarah, we drove from London up to Edinburgh a few weeks ago, about 11 hours with stops. He was great, slept pretty much the whole journey. We stopped every 1.5-2 hours to give a break from the car seat. In terms of packing, we tried to reduce 'stuff' by just bathing him in the sink when we are away ( not taking bath) and he sleeps in the carrycot beside our bed so just need pram and not also travel cot. Good luck!

Sunbeam18 · 27/09/2013 12:11

In saying that, he'll soon be too big for the carrycot and so travel cot will become necessary! Anyone moved from carrycot option on pram to the pushchair? We occasionally put the carseat onto our pram wheels and its a lot more interesting for him than lying flat.

pinkbear82 · 27/09/2013 12:53

Sunbeam we are in the pram option now rather than carrycot. Dd could touch the bottom with feet and would kick up and kept banging her head with the inch she had left!
She's pretty much flat in the pram but does quite like being able to sit up and see if she is awake. Did have to pop a blanket between her legs for a week or so just to pad out the straps a bit but she's fine now! She loves the foot muff that comes with it.

Mrs81 · 27/09/2013 13:13

We've tried the pushchair but he's far too short for it, even with straps on shortest setting. I've ordered a snugseat insert for it (a bit like you get in the car seat) which should pad him out a bit. He loves being able to look around though.

Massive poomagedon at baby massage this morning - down to his socks! - I hope Sunny doesn't get caught out mid-flight!!

curlyclaz13 · 27/09/2013 14:25

Oscar has been in his seat for about two weeks now he seems to like it once he is in but ' planks' going in and out which is a bit scary ! he also grips the cover for dear life when it's on or the straps if not, anyone would think I was a bad driver. Wink I do struggle getting in and out the house down the step as the seat is heavier and the centre of gravity has moved, need to find a better way before he gets too heavy otherwise I will have to either wear him all the time or sell this and buy a different one.
Had his weigh in yesterday and he is 12lb 12 now so gained 2lb 2 in 5 weeks, no wonder with all those night feeds Grin

curlyclaz13 · 27/09/2013 18:06

Can I join the waiting for poonami's ? nothing since Wednesday morning. A massage and tummy rub before bath and bed is in order, hopefully it will happen once OH is home as he gets bum duty at weekends Grin

pinkbear82 · 27/09/2013 20:01

Happy to channel some of dad's pooability to those of you waiting....seriously she could poo for England. Most days 4 poos if not more..... I think she might be broken.

curlyclaz13 · 28/09/2013 19:37

Still no poo, just had a curry so maybe some spicy milk might help and I definitely didn't drop curry on hin while feeding him while I was eating Blush

HungryHorace · 29/09/2013 12:10

I've dropped all sorts of food on DD! Easily done :-)

curlyclaz13 · 29/09/2013 18:33

We have poo ! Unfortunately I was doing dinner so OH had to deal with it Grin

Mrs81 · 29/09/2013 20:49

Wow & hooray! How many days was that in the end?? (and well done on dodging the nappy change to end all nappy changes!!)
