Eliza my DS2 was weighed today and he hasn't put on any weight since his last dietitian appointment back in April but he has grown 2.5 cm. So long as he stays on his percentile line they're happy. He was supplemented with 300 calories of drinks daily for a year but that was only because he had gone off the bottom of the percentile chart. So don't worry too much about E, so long as she is being monitored she will make it up. Both my boys seem to shoot up in height then fill out with weight iyswim, they don't get taller and heavier at the same time. No clues on the yellow fat cells YW but I definitely agree about not overfeeding. Most people are born with an innate sense of how much to eat. We mess that up by forcing children to clean their plates and by eating processed food and sugary foods. My DS1 and DS2 are small and skinny but there's no reason to assume they won't become fat as adults if they develop bad eating habits now. I also had concerns about my DS1 and eating disorders so I have trod carefully to encourage him to eat more and a bigger variety rather than relying on bribery or punishments. At 10 he has spontaneously started eating vegetables without being told, this is an enormous step for a resistant eater and it makes me very happy. He has been getting lots of praise at meal times lately.

VQ the tax credits people are utter bastards. The biggest problem is that it's impossible for you to check their calculations, you just have to accept what they tell you. We ended up with an overpayment of £2600 years ago and we were lucky at the time because they didn't ask us to pay it back like some people, we just didn't get any more for ages.

Glad to see you back MM we were starting to pine for you. It's good that you're communicating well with your DH, hopefully you'll see clear improvements. I know when my DH tells me of an issue my immediate reaction is "but that's because" but after my indignation I try and accommodate his requests. He was totally non-fazed by the argument, in his opinion I was overreacting. But I did say that I felt I was having to keep checking over my shoulder to see if I was in his way and could he please say, "excuse me I need to get to ...". So hopefully we're all good for now FC.

Harrowwwww all!

Is today moaning monday? I would like to moan that my fish tank bulbs are not yet here and I need them! Other than that it's been an ok day here today. Didn't get chance to go shopping today but I can go tomorrow instead. E has been really distracted today when eating, but he has been eating still so that's good I guess!

detective I can send dp for maybe milk and something else. Once I have sent him for one dinner, that went ok. I clearly need to train him a bit more Grin

pass e likes his routine too, and so do i to be honest Blush

Happy birthday bry!!! hope you've had a good day today :)

Brew for the bad nights last night :( We had an odd one, 7-8, with a wake up at 6:30. I just bunged him in with me, hoping for cuddles till 7 and we both didn't wake till 8!

well done to him jj that's brill re the self settling! :)

woohoo pikz that's brill :)

det that's alot of drool!

E isn't in the top 100 but I don't know where he is, I can't find anything that shows stuff past the top 100 Blush am dense

glad M liked the sea life centre fatima :) Also it's good she was content at the CM, she must be a confident, secure little girl :)

eliza that's pretty positive really isn't it, ok so no gain BUT no loss? And she doesn't need the tube back in so that's really good news :) Fingers crossed the high calorie powder helps her weight gain and the appointment in two weeks shows she's put a bit on :)

vq i have no advice re tax credits but really hope you sort it as it must be really stressful :( poor J with another chest infection too, so fucking unfair :(

hey mm we all missed you :) sorry you felt that way :( everyone had the best intentions, honest :(

yw sounds like J is well on his way - and doing very well in the moving department :) Love the prize marrow comment too! I always think to myself that having a smaller baby must have some advantages - easier to carry and clothes last longer :) I am looking at 18-24 months for e soon enough and I cannot throw him up in the air more than 3 times in a row. I used to be able to do it a dozen times or so but it kills my arms now, which is a shame as he loves it!

Passmethecrisps · 12/08/2013 20:29

Hia!

Hang on peepers.

PurplePidjin · 12/08/2013 20:36

1 1/2 hour cluster fuck feed. Because i only gave him 2.5ml calpol. Out like a light as soon as i gave the other half Hmm i just demolished a second dinner of beef stir fry and am pondering cereal. Have Wine

Dp is contracted to work 40 hours pw but currently doing 16. Which one are our tc worked out on?

BigPigLittlePig · 12/08/2013 20:40

Bloody hell you lot have been chatty!

Welcome back MM - glad you feel you have made inroads with dp. Any chance of sharing some of the more comical rules?! Tricky decision about the interview, I would go for it, as practice - and if you did well and were offered the job, you could make a decision then about whether to take it or not. Only you will know the right answer to that.

Eliza fab news re: the lack of tube. I haven't weighed F in ages, but feel like she hasn't really gained anything. She's certainly not growing out of her clothes (3-6 months, still). I need to try to convince dh to weigh her this week.

Chasing I haven't been on fb yet, so not sure what the deal is with the name, but a double-barreled name sounds like a nice idea. Shame Boots boy didn't reply, but well done on plucking up the confidence to do it! I bet you wouldn't have dreamed of doing something like that even a few weeks ago.

Det LOL at peeing up the door Grin and at whoevers HV made the marrow comment - that made me chuckle.

Sorry that some of you had such terrible nights. F randomly decided to get up at 5.30 today which was particularly horrific after having worked so many hours this weekend. I missed her so so so much, I only saw her for an hour each morning, for 3 days Sad. She has been very reluctant to be parted from me, so I think she missed me too.

Pikz · 12/08/2013 20:44

I had a very clingy little boy today who just wanted to read lots of books and walk about holding my hand.

MM so lovely to see you back!

Eliza well done on no tube... I too love the marrow comment YW. I wish L would stop growing a little!!

Big hugs vq for you and J.

Hope the school of animals was good Mrs pass.

And Wine and Brew for everyone

ValiumQueen · 12/08/2013 20:45

PP so long as he works an average of 16 or more over the year, but is continuously employed then that is fine. There is a bonus for working over 30 hours but that is usually negated anyway by your income.

ChasingDaisy · 12/08/2013 20:58

pig that must have been hard being away from F for so long Sad Do you have any time off now?

Kyz · 12/08/2013 21:03

hope he sleeps well tonight pp

bless you bplp f must've missed you too! 5:30 mornings are not fun at all though! Hope you have a bit of a break now?

BigPigLittlePig · 12/08/2013 21:05

No chasing Sad. Currently on day 8 of 12 Sad But at least I get to see her for an hour in the morning, and 2 hours in the evening. I love my job, but I also hate it sometimes for its complete inflexibility.

I'm feeling inspired to claim for PPI now. Not even sure if I paid it, but worth claiming anyway I reckon....

daisychain76 · 12/08/2013 21:19

Hello, sat with H clamped to me feeding. He just won?t sleep! Welcome back Mm. Hope you have a fab last week of maternity leave fatima. Where is the Sealiffe centre in Manchester. Glad E doesn?t need the tube back eliza. Hoe you had a good day pass. Dull day here ~swimmming, shopping and work. Going to look at the baby names now...

ChasingDaisy · 12/08/2013 21:32

XSIL has just had her waters broken and is giving birth in the same room I gave birth to O.

Passmethecrisps · 12/08/2013 21:34

Hi. In bed!!

Lots happening.

BP almost there! Poor you and wee F.

Hope the call works out and gives some answers VQ. Unnecessary bullshit.

Quick summary of today

Rush, rush, bye bye, blub (me), say lots of hellos. Answer the same question 15 times, meeting, meeting, hello, hello, PANIC PANIC PANIC, calm down, lovely phone call from pupil asking how my day was going Smile! Home, see p. get Grin Grin Grin Grin do bath time, bed.

Passmethecrisps · 12/08/2013 21:36

Really chasing? Weird coincidence.

You feeling weird about it?

BigPigLittlePig · 12/08/2013 21:36

Ah but chasing she won't get an O at the end of it.

ChasingDaisy · 12/08/2013 21:39

Yeah, feeling really weird. Jealous, sad, annoyed at myself for feeling jealous and sad...

The XSIL who gave birth 12 days before me also gave birth in that room, so that's all three cousins born in the same room in the space of 9 months.

Kyz · 12/08/2013 21:42

Very good point made by bp there chasing

pleased you had a good day pass if a very rushed one!

Am looking at baby proofing type products. Other than stairgates and a fireguard is there anything else that might be useful/important to have?

Passmethecrisps · 12/08/2013 21:42

Just think of it as no more than a weird fact of geography really. Nothing more.

You have a lovely O and many, many cuddles to come with people who deserve you who have family who will love you

ChasingDaisy · 12/08/2013 21:42

Cupboard lock thingies

ChasingDaisy · 12/08/2013 21:51

Ugh and now XP is being nice to me. I'm lonely and I'm sad Sad

BigPigLittlePig · 12/08/2013 21:55

Chasing not nice, sleazy and smarmy, no? though. I felt v weird when dhs ex-p had her baby. Inexplicable, as she is really nothing to do with me, but I was quite muddly inside. Jealous (even though I had a non-sleeping, sofa-pinning 4 month old of my very own), cross, sad (that F was no longer dsds only sibling)...and lots of other things including glad she had horrible tears and didn't get her dream water birth but that's because I'm a horrid cow

Kirrin · 12/08/2013 22:03

nice to see you again MM :)
Is the job full-time? If so, would it be worth dong the interview, and if they offer it to you see if you can negotiate part-time? Or alternatively, could you think of it as a good long term plan, even if the pay off isn't great in the short term?

VQ Definitely worth appealing. Those are mammoth child are costs.

Sounds like E is doing well Eliza Yy for no tube :)

Love the prize marrow comment Grin N is a little on the titchy side so I may have to borrow that.

Sounds like a busy day Pass

N's name is just under 200 on the list. DD1 is 499, which I am very surprised about - I thought it was waaay more popular than that.

ChasingDaisy · 12/08/2013 22:10

Sounds like just what I'm feeling pig along with smugness at the fact she was induced 36 hours ago and has only just had her waters broken, compared to my 11.5 hour induction...

ChasingDaisy · 12/08/2013 22:12

Thanks for understanding pig Thanks Nice to know it is normal.

I should go to sleep really.

Night quiche xx

FatimaLovesBread · 12/08/2013 22:17

daisy sea life is at the Trafforf Centre, at that Barton Square bit where the Lego Land is. It's not huge but we enjoyed it.

DH decided as I'd just got M to sleep that he was going to have a bath. Fair enough but he's noisy in the bath, sliding in it to get washed, listening to music, running it etc. Told him to be quiet as I didn't want him to wake M. The bath and M's cot are at either side of the same wall.
Five mins she lasted before he woke her up Angry
So then I had to sit for 30 mins cuddling her back to sleep while he had some lovely me time and relaxed in the bath.
Bloody men!

Glad your day at work went ok pass Enjoy your sleep!

(((Hugs))) chasing

Bastards vq definitely appeal. It wouldn't be worth me working for those childcare costs goes off idea of having another

yw M isn't huge either. Well she looks it to me but compared to other she's only wee. Last time I weighed her she was 16.10 and she's been putting a pound on every six weeks roughly. But she's v active and eats plenty, just doesn't bf as much but I'm sure she'd let me know if she was starting. I'm happy that her clothes are last inher a good while, she's just gone in to 6-9 babygrows and she'll be 9 months next week.
