Morning all. 7-5:20 in his bed, then 5:30-6:45 in mine. Unfortunately just he got that last hour, I had a dead arm, and feel drained, which is silly because I had enough sleep, really! I really must go to bed as soon as dp leaves for work and try for sleep from then, still, two coffees later and I feel awake.

E's 9 month photos today :) 9 months. Wow. Do we count months now going on the date of birth, so for e the 6th of every month, or are we still counting in weeks?

Brew for the bad nights, sounds like some real shockers :(

vq sorry Blush I think I was pre programmed to blame myself for everything, doubt every decision I make large or small, worry endlessly about everything and most importantly, put myself down as much as humanly possible! I just didn't feel comfortable with him ramming giant strawberries into his mouth. Wish I had the confidence of other mummies. Poor e!

pr, lovely, everybody is fed, nobody is dead :) you are coping well enough, I know you are on CCTV mode but I've done that before and I've only got e!!! Sometimes the other stresses of life are just too much and you've alot going on ATM.

pp that's rediculous! Surely they can't do shit like that so late?

evil not having a good time of it then? :( sounds thoroughly swear worthy!!!

Hope you have a lovely couple of days with the girls before your move sophia

Yes pr get some good old swearing done!!!

Another shocker of a night too. Ended up in bed with S and DD as I had no patience for pacing around with S. DH got a lovely night in the spare room, the fucker. He did get up and get everyone ready for the day though.

These shitty nights are becoming a most unwelcome pattern for a lot of us it seems.

Sorry about your poor night pr Hope you can get a better night, with the aid of pills, tonight.

We had a bit of a poo night, 3.5 hours then 2 hour then 1.5hours then ended up bringing her to bed with me. I'd planned on getting up and showered before takin DH to work but seeing as I was tired and M was asleep on me, I didn't bother. God knows how we'll manage next week.
Just put M down for a nap, waiting for her to fall asleep so I can go shower now. We're meeting the CM at the park in an hour.

DH ended up getting up with M for her 2am and 4:30am wake up and bringing her to me. Great comment this morning when we were discussing her numerous wake ups "she hasn't had a night like that for a while"!!! Yes she fricking has, only difference is he doesn't normally wake up AngryGrin

Gah I hate it when people say get on with it. My mum always says things like well in my day we just had to get on with it. Or, your sister managed, she just got on with it. Or, well you don't have much choice dear, you'll just have to get on with it. It's the single most demoralising thing anyone can say. She said it about breastfeeding, which you all know I freaking hated doing. It goes hand in hand with pull yourself together. Agh. If I ever catch myself saying that to my girls...

I agree PR. I am sure you will be fine then. The important thing is that you all survive the next few weeks. Everyone fed, nobody dead is your mantra for a while ok?

Yes Chasing, reactive depression. Sadly a lot of people think it is just poor coping skills but it is not. It is when the brain and body and emotions just have too much to deal with and start to shut down. It is not a case of pulling your socks up and getting on with it. Sadly many people with this also feel that. Me included. But I know that is not the case. Or at least I tell myself this Confused

I'll see what the doctor says next week. I think once the girls are settled in to childcare and the work situation is resolved, one way or another, I will be fine. Just a few more weeks.

PR my depression was originally caused by life situation stress. Reactive depression I think they call it. I'm not saying you are depressed of course, just that it can be triggered by stressful events.

I know PR but I think when there is huge amounts of stress that can lead to depression. I think if J had not had his health problems then I would not be on these tablets. I am still not convinced I am depressed, just knackered, but over here they tend to err on the side of caution. The meds I am on are also given to folk with PTSD, anxiety, OCD etc. I am glad DH is off tomorrow. Big hugs.

PR and VQ massive hugs. I think you are right VQ that more mums would admit to just being CCTV. I love being at home but there are some days I am just CCTV and others where we have the beat days. I am looking forward to him going to nursery soon as I think we both need it or I might resent being at home.

PP complain definitely. Not on. Big Brew

Sophia two days with your girls sounds brilliant Grin

The doctor doesn't think I'm depressed. She's very clear about there being a difference between hormonal/chemical depression and situation related stress.

PetiteRaleuse · 14/08/2013 08:30

Tomorrow is a public holiday here so DH will be home. That will help. I'm going to the doctor next Monday to see about more sleepers and to discuss rtw. Next week is my last week on my own with the girls. I'm so :( about that but know I wouldn't be able to do any more. They'll be better off at nursery.

Oh dear (((hugs))) for bad nights. J slept well thankfully, as did I.

Oh PR I am worried about you x I think you should be taking the sleepers alternate nights as you were given 14 for a month IIRC. I think if you know you will be having sleep the next night then the potentially poor night should be easier to manage. You and DH can also plan in advance and kinda take it in turns with the nights and you can go to bed at a decent hour.

I also think the telly should be your friend. Do not worry about how many hours they are watching, if it helps to get through these days then all well and good. They will get more than enough stimulation at nursery soon. I know what you mean about being CCTV. I think more mums would admit to feeling like this if they were honest. Me included. We are both still mums, but not firing on all cylinders at the moment x

I think it is a shame how France treat their new mums. I think you would possibly do better with something regular for depression and anxiety to smooth the edges, but we need to work with what you have got. Do you know if the sleepers are just a one off or if you can get more?
