Sobbing at those lyrics

ChasingDaisy · 11/08/2013 20:51

I've saved the lyrics to my phone but won't under any circumstances be listening to it Grin

Elizadoesdolittle · 11/08/2013 20:51

Evening all,

Sorry to read of lots of woes. stunt Hope you are ok x

I've missed why mm is taking a break from the quiche but have been thinking of her. yw Glad to hear she is ok.

pass Good luck tomorrow. And very well put. You have such a lovely way with words.

As expected we really like the house so will make an offer tomorrow but I have a feeling it could be a tricky one so we probably won't get it. Trying very hard not to get my hopes up.

Well my bloody mantra to stay away from the wine didn't work. I'm officially rubbish. As both me and DH have been feeling a little lot delicate today we went to pizza express for lunch and just finished nomming a chinese takeaway Shock

We have the appt with the dietician tomorrow so will know whether E can keep her tube out for longer. Fingers crossed she's put on weight.

PetiteRaleuse · 11/08/2013 21:00

Fingers firmly crossed Eliza x

Cake smash just makes me die inside. All that mess!

I do not do mess well.

I am much better than I was though! More laid back vocally if not in my mind! now.

But still, cake and smashing makes me cry!

I am so full right now, it is hurting to type. Will make this a short post.

((((((((Group hug)))))))) but especially to chasing PR Pidj Stunt Lily and VQ. You ladies are all going through such tough times in one way or another. And each and every one of you is an inspiration. And a fucking legend to boot! I think so highly of everyone on this group. It's a privilege to know everyone here. Even if not IRL!

Tomorrow is another day, and hopefully a brighter one. And even though I am not religious in the slightest, that is a verse we can all appreciate VQ.

Pass Eeeek! Good luck! Nerves are setting in for me about going back. You are remarkably calm! I think it's the FT thing unnerving me. But you are taking it in your stride! Is P at the CM tomorrow?

Interesting things here today? Just one. Light bulb was on in living room, and then it just popped out, and fell to the floor Shock. Luckily O was at the other end of the room, and although I was right under the light near enough, it fell the other way towards the fire place. Fucking motherfucking light bulb. DP picked it up, and forgot it would be hot. Dipstick!

Am feeling grateful for DP. I whinge, and he has his moments. But he is a goodun really. Today he did his first ever full weeks shop. He did a good job! And the best part is, it came to £108, plus £9 in fruit and veg shop which didn't have much in so had to get the rest in Asda!. Will need to get a couple of bits in the week, but likely no more than £20 for extra fruit and veg, possibly some ham and bread too.

Thank fuck it didn't come to what it has been, as we are scraping the money barrel right now.

Also that included the 25 tubs of puree we made this evening. Made O beef casserole, chicken and apricot curry, plus 2 other AK recipes he's had before.

Think he can do the shopping from now on!

Sorry. I said I would keep it quick. I lied. Grin

TheDetective · 11/08/2013 21:14

I had to listen.

Who the fuck let her destroy the lyrics? Dear me.

Hmm
PurplePidjin · 11/08/2013 21:19

Eliza you haz pee emm :)

R is definitely using Mamam as a discrete word to refer to adults now. Although vdp is determined to be dadad, which is still firmly in the realms of Rafa-ese Hmm

I made baby ice lollies yesterday - 1/2 fruit puree, 1/2 plain yoghurt in a mould in the freezer. He was too grumpy after dinner tonight chewing a giant mouthful of roast beef with no teeth must be pretty knackering tbh so will try him on one tomorrow :)

MsJupiterJones · 11/08/2013 21:23

Oh VQ we had that Corinthians verse at our wedding. Just had quite a stressful aft with my family visiting and it was good to read it, very timely (even though I am no longer religious). Also very lovely about your brother. I used to listen to By The Sea by Suede "she can walk out any time" when I was in a bad relationship and eventually I had the strength to walk out for real. By the way I have a super handsome, single little brother Chasing just in case you want me to point him in your direction Wink

Pass best of luck with your first day back, hope you got a nice shiny pencil case!

Kyz good to see you too Smile and good to read your updates and posts.

I am not up for a cake smash either, but have been talking to DH about whether to have a party for L's first. It would be nice to mark it so I think we will. His bday is a Sat but parking is free on Sunday so we might have it then, although be nice to do it on the day in some ways.

Eliza best of luck for E's appt tomorrow, hope she has piled on the ozs! xx

L has still been a bit pale and sorry for himself today, after the week he's had I'm not surprised. Hopefully he will be back to his usual self in a few days. It's not helped by him not sleeping too well at the moment, and his tummy's still not right. Sad

ChasingDaisy · 11/08/2013 21:30

O seems to call the dog bobobob now and whenever I do something he doesn't like, like trying to get him dressed, I get an indignant mumumum Grin

Kyz · 11/08/2013 21:31

Whilst they look awesome, I don't think i'd do a cake smash thing for the mess reason! There would be no wastage, the dogs would be very full on cake!

vq your brother sounds truly lovely :)

pass hope tomorrow goes well, I am sure it will :)

aww sophia how sweet :) lovely

aww pp bet that'll be fun!

fingers reealllly crossed eliza so much so they are double knotted. For the house and e's appointment tomorrow.

weird re the lightbulb det glad nobody was under it!

oooooh det some scrummy recipes there! Bet O loves them! Well done to your dp too, mine wouldn't know where to start doing a weekly shop. He has his good points but food is not one of them. I had to step by step tell him how to toast crumpets yesterday. Least he managed it though! LOL!

Bet he loves the lollies pp!

poor L jj hope he has a better day tomorrow

ChasingDaisy · 11/08/2013 21:35

Feel free to point him my way JJ Grin In fact that goes for the whole quiche - any eligible male suitors can be sent to MK, thanks!

Ooh did you get a new pencil case pass? With a new set of pencils and a fountain pen. And a compass. I love stationery. My fave purchase for my new flat is a pen pot and memo pad Grin Blush

Passmethecrisps · 11/08/2013 21:35

Would you like a picture of my pencil case?

ChasingDaisy · 11/08/2013 21:39

Yes!!

Kyz · 11/08/2013 21:40

is that code for something pass Wink

On that note I best feck off! x

Passmethecrisps · 11/08/2013 21:42

Haha!

Picture composed and taken!

Passmethecrisps · 11/08/2013 21:43

No protractor or compass, sadly. Being a teacher of computing and feelings I have little need for mensuration

Pikz · 11/08/2013 21:46

Pass in my head I have a story book about you teaching the animals feelings Blush

Passmethecrisps · 11/08/2013 21:46

4 days this week det as the CM has a personal day on Tuesday. Then 5 days for the next 2 weeks. From September she will be 3 days with CM and 2 days with DH

Passmethecrisps · 11/08/2013 21:47

Animals? How much would I love that? Being a teacher of animals? Awesome

Pikz · 11/08/2013 21:54

Yeah

"It was mrs crisps who taught tommy the tiger how to feel"

Passmethecrisps · 11/08/2013 21:55

Really pikz? That is amazing!

TheDetective · 11/08/2013 22:02

What the fuck is a personal day?!

I hope she cracks the sleep! I may get a CM just to fucking sort out this charade of rocking the fuck to sleep!

Pikz I'm not sure about the walking thing. I am keeping fingers and toes crossed we get to at least 10 months.

He climbed the stairs to bed tonight. Crazy. Hmm

Kyz I sent him with a very comprehensive list Grin. We started off with small shops. He would get stuff for 3/4 days in. So figured he could get a full weeks shop without either buying nothing for dinner and starving us all week, or buying his body weight in sugary shit Grin. It helps doing SW actually as I would usually make a list with stuff for meals and then a general list of 'crisps, chocolate, cake' Grin. I never trusted that DP would get what I fancied. Which was right, because I didn't know what I wanted. Til I got there. Grin Anyway, it is easy as the only things I have in are a 24 box of jaffa cakes, a pack of rich tea fingers, and a pack of pink n whites. :)

TheDetective · 11/08/2013 22:03

Also, he was quicker than me Shock and everything has the right dates on! Whoop!

Passmethecrisps · 11/08/2013 22:06

She has a friend she wants to be with on the first day on school. It makes sense. It won't be a regular thing. Apparently p self-settled quite happily last time she was there. It took a while but no tears or anxiety.

Passmethecrisps · 11/08/2013 22:10

Oh! And I have been thinking about fellow tricky sleepers who like to move it move it.

I follow the same routine every single time - soft lighting, Ewan on harp, nappy change, in sleeping bag, settle into chair together. P now is almost asleep by the time we get into the chair. However, sometimes it is still too much so when I am cuddling her in I give her something soft to hold as otherwise she grabs at me. I also don't use generic shhhh but actually talk to her. So things like "sleepy time is coming", and "nearly there" and so on. P seems to find this more comforting than just shh. I don't know why.
