About 25

ChasingDaisy · 08/08/2013 20:32

Aww pass sounds like P had a lovely day Smile

Passmethecrisps · 08/08/2013 20:33

Wait? You are supposed to start listening to your mum?

ValiumQueen · 08/08/2013 20:33

Lily I would go for second hand. Bike seats do not go through the same extremes of temperature that a car seat does.

PurplePidjin · 08/08/2013 20:34

Kyz a big mesh laundry bag. Buy a lidded bin (mine was £4 in Wilko) then use the mesh bag like a bin bag. Stick a sanitary pad to the lid and drop essential oil on (i use olbas) so it smells nice. Remove bag to wash nappies.

YellowWellies · 08/08/2013 20:49

Yey P for awesome childmindeeing Smile

Pass I always rant that you should be allowed to vote in either big brother / xfactor type shit or a general election. Not both Blush .

A few weeks ago Daddy was the shizzle as far as Jonas was concerned - am really chuffed that at the moment I'm the one getting all of his heart melting smiles and delighted squeals when he's with someone else and spots me. Smile Selfish I know...

Passmethecrisps · 08/08/2013 20:58

Is toddler herding different if they are your own?

YellowWellies · 08/08/2013 21:04

Ha I suppose you can sellotape them to the wall / lock them in a cupboard without their parent's complaining? The 4 year old was v good but the 2 year old (and I love her dearly) is a wee feck. I'm BF J and she was gleefully lobbing toy cars over the stair gate - trying to get the estate agent (a girl after my own heart!!!) chuckling at any suggestion to stop throwing projectiles at the nice lady trying to value the house!!!!

PetiteRaleuse · 08/08/2013 21:06

That's great news re the CM pass you must be relieved :)

DD1 listens if you bribe her with sweets. But if once you've promised sweets you go on too long she zones out and starts chanting 'bonbons' all obsessed zombie like til she drowns you out and you give in.

PurplePidjin · 08/08/2013 21:10

Just like that, Kyz. I unload the nappies and chuck the bag in with the wash, but then I'm normally unloading the downstairs wet bag at the same time so already mucky.

If you buy a load of poundshop baby flannels, dampen them and store in freezer bags you don't need to but wipes either. Chuck them in with your nappies Wink

BigPigLittlePig · 08/08/2013 21:33

Evening all.

Sorry to hear bad days/nights - have a late Brew. F was up with the lark today, although as I had to be at work for 8, that was ok.

PR I share your freezer dreams. Also need to do some batch cooking, although won't be any time soon.

Pass I'm so glad to hear the CM went well, fab news. F has dropped another bottle, all of a sudden, so is only having 3 a day now. I was a bit Confused but she seems fine. Just need to get her drinking more water.

Chasing hope the numb mouth recovers soon. I don't like the dentist, have luckily also avoided fillings so far. I would be a complete wreck!

Det oops re: pram rant.

Madam sort out the toe you wally!

Shockingly busy day (again) - began the day at 8, didn't leave til nearly 6. Poor F was still having her tea at 6.45. Still. She went to bed okay, so can't have been too worried....

Bryzoan · 08/08/2013 21:33

That is hillarious pr. R is the same with 'phone'.

Love your election idea pass. And the cm sounds brilliant. Lovely to hear.

Yw if you want more practice with toddlers while you decide the quiche has a plethora we could post to you? R would love Scotland I'm sure...

YellowWellies · 08/08/2013 21:36

Grin Grin Grin Thanks Bryz

Grin Grin Grin Grin to bonbons PR

Passmethecrisps · 08/08/2013 21:42

Well here is another thing from the CM! P was rummaging in the chnging bag while I was signing contracts. She pulled out her water cup and started trying to drink from it. Once CM flipped the sucky thing p was away. Then she flung it down and carried on. It seems strange but her recognising and being able to act on something like thirst seems amazing to me. I don't often drink water so never think about it but I have decided to leave a cup at p level for her to help herself to.

More Irish Brew to BP

Passmethecrisps · 08/08/2013 21:46

What happened to madam's toe? I have missed something. Poor you though.

How is the mouth chasing? Did O get the "chill out and let mum rest" memo?

ChasingDaisy · 08/08/2013 21:52

I was all set for an early night to rest my poorly mouth when there was an almighty crack over the monitor. Poor love had whacked his head on the top of the cot. He was properly screaming, sounded like he was saying Ow Ow Ow Sad Couldn't give him calpol as he had some before bed so I gave him cuddles and some water which calmed him down enough to sleep. I shall be following shortly.

BigPigLittlePig · 08/08/2013 21:58

I think she has an ingrown toenail, pass ewwwww Grin

I should go to sleep. I have a 13 hour shift tomorrow. And Saturday. And Sunday Sad Instead I just want to eat chocolate.

ChasingDaisy · 08/08/2013 22:03

Chocolate is just as important as sleep.

Nope.

Chocolate is more important than sleep.

TheDetective · 08/08/2013 22:10

This week I lost 3lb. So tonight I am eating a 3 course meal.

The courses are this:

Starter: Almond croissant

Main: 2 chocolate eclairs

Dessert: Chocolate sundae and a chocolate bar Grin

I also stole a salt and pepper chicken wing and 2 spring rolls from DP's chinese meal!

Awesome Grin.

Elizadoesdolittle · 08/08/2013 22:33

Hi all, first evening in for what seems like yonks so had lots to catch up on. I had to abandon the end of the other thread but have managed to skim read this thread.

Too much to reply to everyone individually so I'll just give Wine and [coffee] to those in need and hand round high 5's to the good news.

E is a scorpio like myself. She was born the day before my birthday. Am hoping she isn't going to be as head strong as DD1. She seems a lot calmer but then looking back so was DD1. Think it was at 18 months that the changelling times hit.

Had a fab trip to the world that is Peppa Pig. We drove up on Monday, stayed overnight, went to PP world on the Tuesday and got back late Tuesday night. Both my girls were little stars. I've got lots more mummy daughter trips lined up. I was dreading the school holidays but am actually having a great time. Off to Bath week after next for 2 nights this time. Going to visit family and I'll take the girls to Longleat. Love it there. I could do with being at home a bit as the place needs a bit of tlc but that kind of stuff can wait. How a house can get in such a tip when you're not in it I'll never know. DH does the basics like load and empty dishwasher, pick shit up off the floor but doesn't think to do washing.

Looks like we will be heading to Derbyshire for a week in September too which is an unexpected treat. DH might even be able to join us on that one which will be good as we've not seen much of him of late. He bought me flowers so think he missed us.

Went to an outdoor screening of dirty dancing last night. Was hilarious. About 400 pissed up women (not me unfortunatly as I chose to be designated driver) and 10 very bemused looking blokes.

Kyz · 08/08/2013 22:41

thanks pp :) good idea about the flannels too!

god bplp you sound mega busy! Eeek! I hope you get to sit for a very long period of time and do absolutely fuck all for at least 3 days after this mammoth shiftathon?

bless p pass i find the little things they do amazing sometimes, i love it when eric picks up something new and he turns it over and over, squeezing it and studying it as if to catalogue it for future times when he finds it, so he knows what it is. eric is drinking quite a bit of water, a cup is left somewhere where he can either get it or see it, he has a non spill one for when he is playing and a sippy cup for when i can control the mess he makes flinging it about as if for fun.

oh chasing we had that the other morning, E stood up at the bars then fell back and hit the solid end of his cot, was a very loud thump and he was quite upset :(

Det very well deserved, you are doing so very well!

Small achievement here. I am sat eating cherries, not chocolate. Today I have managed to eat no chocolate or biscuits or crisps. I have drank juice or coffee (1 sugar) or water eugh and I declined ice cream then cried inside

Small steps and all that

ValiumQueen · 08/08/2013 22:42

I carried a watermelon.

Kyz · 08/08/2013 22:50

oooh hey eliza! so glad the girls were good when you took them out :) sounds like you're having a great time :) How is e doing without the tube? nice that your dh missed you, bless him :)

TheDetective · 08/08/2013 23:05

Thanks Kyz! And well done on the self control!

Can we talk food again!!?

Quantities and milk volumes. Just so that when O gets weighed and he has yet again jumped a centile, I can be sure I am not over feeding him!

Today is not a typical day, but this is what he ate today.

7.30am 7oz milk

8.30am Breakfast: Banana and raisin porridge - 140ml (roughly)

12.45pm Lunch - refused everything except about an eighth of a breadstick.

4.30pm 8oz milk

6.30pm 120ml spinach, potato and carrot puree. 70ml fruit puree.

7.30pm 6oz milk.

Lunch would usually be finger foods eg very small pieces of ham or chicken or egg , plus a salad or veg item ie: slice 2 pieces of cucumber or 2 lettuce leaves, and a carb item ie. 1 breadstick, 2 rice cakes. Not much of this is consumed, small bits of the protein are, and some of the carbs but usually only what I put directly in his mouth. Not really managing the salad or veg as finger foods, they get chewed then spat out when he can't swallow them. I follow up with around 70-100ml of a veg/veg+meat/fruit puree. He doesn't always finish this.

He is very good at stopping when full. He will only take what he wants. So I feel okay at what he is having.

Any thoughts?
