Knackered. And all i did was read in to stuff. And clear my inbox. And smile at lots of people pretending not to be too gutted to be back at work. Although actually it was nice to see some of them again.

Was given a kindle for my birthday for train journeys but have actually just caught up on here instead! Who needs a kindle at the rate you lot chat.

PurplePidjin · 08/08/2013 18:29

Screaming in agony all afternoon. Nothing helps - nelsons powders, calgel, orajel, dentinox gel, calpol, amber necklace, cuddles Sad

PetiteRaleuse · 08/08/2013 18:34

:( pidj any idea what is wrong?

ChasingDaisy · 08/08/2013 18:44

Sad Pidj. Do you think it's teeth? Maybe something cold for him to gum on?

Thank you to whoever suggested calpol on a spoon! It has been a revelation here.

Also, a few ideas for foods for spoon refusers: Scotch pancakes for lunch and stir fry for dinner went down very well with a teething-spoon-refusing Oscar today.

PurplePidjin · 08/08/2013 18:52

Is teefs. He even refused cold cucumber which is normally a hit! Yoghurt with fruit puree for tea, although he had a good go at a bit of veggie burger and some cheese.

TheDetective · 08/08/2013 18:59

Chasing Do you have the pack of scotch pancakes? Wondering if these are dairy free Grin. I love them. I need an excuse to buy some!!

Pidj fuck, poor wee thing. Have you tried anything icey to chew on? That's my only suggestion. Or Ibuprofen?

O has found a love. For In The Night Garden. I am not complaining. It is keeping him entertained. He is sat right next to me on the sofa, like a proper person as DS1 put it! Now I can never ever use my laptop if O is on the sofa with me as he will not stop bashing it. He hasn't noticed it Grin.

He is mesmorised. By this and Waybaloo. Hmm

Ah well, 30 minutes of TV won't kill him! He's had a busy day!

So, DS1 has been to a new youth club which has opened in the centre of town. It's the biggest one in the country, and is brand new. Has lots going on, and is always full and busy. It has a skate park, badminton courts, a rock climbing wall and all kinds with in it! It's quite amazing really! DS went to the holiday club today (£5 for all day!) and David Cameron turns up to see the place in action. DS has DC's autograph on his arm now... Hmm

How do I feel about this? GUTTED! I've missed a heckling opportunity. Can't stand the fuckwit. I wish I had known!! GAH! I asked DS1 if he said anything to him. Nope. I feel I have failed to train him sufficiently now!

PetiteRaleuse · 08/08/2013 19:10

Oh no Detective you could have wiped that disgusting smirk off his face. Ugh. Horrible horrible man.

And it's never to early to teach your son that his arm needs to be scrubbed clean asap :o though I have to say meeting the PM at his age is pretty cool.

PetiteRaleuse · 08/08/2013 19:11

You need to teach him some choice phrases in case it happens again. Not sweary, but pithy put downs for smug arse politicians.

PurplePidjin · 08/08/2013 19:25

He's down now. Fx he stays there for a bit.

ChasingDaisy · 08/08/2013 19:25

I'll check det...

Bryzoan · 08/08/2013 19:26

Det - probably you will now see ds on the news getting his arm signed. Arm signing sounds one up on baby kissing for the hip and down with it.

I once had a rather unsettling dream about David Cameron. He was very nice in it. Have never seen him in quite the same way since...

Butch - I think I remember you posting about the fingers before? Hoping you get some support and answers soon, and that they are nice answers.

G is teething too. Litle wretch keeps taking chunks out of me. Good job I am so very very patient.

Chasing - glad you are having fun but please take it easy with mr boots - no rushing into anything. Enjoy your space with o for a bit... Please?

And mm I hope your puppy is settling in ok. I think you are quite mad of course, but hope at least you are mad and happy.

ChasingDaisy · 08/08/2013 19:36

Don't worry bry I'm not looking to rush into anything. Not looking for a boyfriend, just a flirt really.

Bryzoan · 08/08/2013 19:47

That is music to my ears chasing Grin enjoy your flirt.

PetiteRaleuse · 08/08/2013 19:48

He's probably quite an interesting person to have a drink or dinner with, if the cameras are off and he's not being a slugarsed PM. In fact my fantasy dinner party would have him and Camilla there, as well as Boris and John Prescott.

YellowWellies · 08/08/2013 19:48

Hello all hope everyone's had a lovely day. Wine to all Mum's of teething babies. I went round to my sister's and herded the 2 and 4 year old as well as Jonas whilst she had estate agents round to look at the house. I kept them all alive so I feel epic. OK it was only for 2 hours Blush Smile .

They were playing together properly with a fisher price garage it was so lovely to watch. It's the first time the cousins have really played together. Jonas mostly tried to eat the cars Grin but he had so much fun commando crawling round after cars he panned out on my nephew's bed mid toddler riot! Envy ha when I think of the darkened room, lullabies and BF needed to get him to nap in the cot at home..... clearly he just needs a big bed, broad daylight and the sound of a dinky car demolition derby....Hmm

PetiteRaleuse · 08/08/2013 19:49

Slugarsed? Smugarsed.

Bryzoan · 08/08/2013 20:01

Slugarsed is good too. That does sound a fun dinner party.

Bryzoan · 08/08/2013 20:05

Well done wellies. I'll take that wine - thank you.

ChasingDaisy · 08/08/2013 20:14

Thanks for the wine YW with my antidepressants and local anaesthetic, one glass should do the trick Wink

Kyz · 08/08/2013 20:19

Evening all!

Madly busy today, glad to be sat down now!

Aww pp the peekaboo is very cute, e sometimes does it with a towel or something but not reliably. Definitely sounds like cloth is cheaper, have managed to convince dp to let me try them out and see how we get on.

lily what's a mesh? like a mesh bag thing to put them in?

Glad you got it sorted sophia I don't blame you for being stressed it's really stressful moving house as it is without any added stress

ooh pr that sounds awesome! Also love good tupperware! Excellent tip about the freezing in bags thing too, brilliant. Never would've thought of that, d'oh! And can I come and live with you and eat your foods, pleasings?

argh madame last thing you need for climbing a mountain is poorly toes! Do you think you'll be able to do any prep between now and when you do the mountain climb? Bless you, you sound like such a busy person!

that's brill ditsy :)

det we all have bad days lol, I have felt similarly guilty at similar explosions at dp who often hasn't reeeealllly done much wrong, and is generally pretty good, but just misses really obvious little things that just serve to annoy the fuck out of me.

oh pidj sounds awful :( poor little R :( hope he settles soon - do you have a mesh fruit thing? e likes that with fruit in to nom on when his gums are a bit sore, sounds like R is feeling it a bit more than that though :(

but yw that is pretty epic! I don't reckon I could manage it!

Well today I have mostly been de-fleaing the entire house. Fucking took forever. This morning I found a flea, on E. Was not impressed. Immediately locked stupid fucking dogs out of the house and took E to MILs and washed every scrap of soft furnishing I could and promptly de-flea'd the dogs by comb, shampoo and drops, and sprayed/foggered/hoovered/blitzed the house. There simply cannot be any fucking fleas now. I got enough stuff to do it again in a couple of weeks, has cost a small fortune. They don't normally bloody get fleas! I feel really bad :( E is staying there tonight and I am spraying again and hoovering again before bed and then again in the morning. I have taken down all the curtains, washed all bedding/cushions/anything else that will fit in the washing machine. Phew.

Passmethecrisps · 08/08/2013 20:21

Hallooooooo.

Do you know that more people vote in the X Factor than in general elections? So. My proposal is that we have the general election Big Brother style. 6 weeks, every party who can raise a deposit represented and they are on show 24 hours a day. It must be the party leader who is in there and they are allowed one telephone call a day with a party adviser. The contents of the call would be recorded and published. They would have tasks just like the normal BB house including the weekly budget.

So there!

Anyway, back to babeality.

Sounds shitty awful Pp. Poor wee squidge.

I am vair impressed with your batch cooking plans pp. We used to have a mini chest freezer and it was awesome. The one we have now is great but simply doesn't have the space for full on batch cooking.

P had a half day with the CM today. I left her at 12:30 when she was already overtired and hadn't had lunch so I was half expecting to get a call saying I had to go back. Well, she nommed a decent lunch, self-settled for her nap which lasted well over an hour and worked on standing completely unaided with the enthusiastic cheerleading of the other children there. When I arrived at the back of 4 she was pleased to see me but not in a "omg where have you been? Way. She stood and sang stories to the kids and ate an entire peach!

She did miss a whole bottle though. Would you believe me if I said I wasn't worried about it?

Well I am a tiiiiiiny bit but not massively. When I arrived she was perfectly happy and then ate the peach which I presume meant she was peckish. She has had 20oz today so I am sure all will be fine.

She went to sleep looking all happy like she had had a lovely day

YellowWellies · 08/08/2013 20:22

The toddler herding did make me Hmm Hmm Hmm about whether to wait a bit longer for a second. My niece is just shy of 2 about the age Jonas would be when no.2 arrives if I get knocked up in October. Bloody hell it's a hard age - mischievous wilful little buggers. When do they start listening to you???? Wink

StuntNun · 08/08/2013 20:26

YW hahahahahahahaaaa! About 32 I think!

Lily311 · 08/08/2013 20:26

Would you buy a second hand bike seat for a baby ? I'm torn whether I should get a new one or used. New is about £80 here. Used is half. Is the same rule apply as for car seats? I will use a bike on a daily basis with O, the most I will cycle is 15 min each way.

Kyz · 08/08/2013 20:27

I am sure she's ok Pass if she's been nomming a little more :) Bless her, sounds like she did brilliantly :D I also like your idea for big brother style elections, brilliant! Though I loathe the usual big brother, I would love that.
