Thanks for the babysitter advice. She is coming over next week to meet the girls. We aren't planning on going far and can be home in 10 mins so will give her a go.

JJ We have v similar age gap I remember and ours go to bed at the same time. Hang on, will return am needed downstairs.

Mckayz · 31/08/2013 17:47

Beans, can you give me the link to the sleep people you used please? I have been back through this thread and the last one but can't find it. ThanksThanks

DeidreBarlow · 31/08/2013 18:04

I am so excited about X Factor!! And Strictly when that starts. Ian looking forward to having Sharon O back as a judge I really liked her last time!Grin. DH has already moaned about watching it but will constantly stick his opinion in throughout the whole programme. I have gin so am good to go!

Rubes I hate shopping with my two. I try to do most if it online but there comes a point I need a few bits. It's ok during term time as I can nip before I collect them. But in the hols...urghhSad. What should take five mins takes an age, they bicker, want to look at toys, want a cake etc etc. and I turn into the screechy lady at the check out! Hope the v&t has eased the trauma a little.

Mckayz · 31/08/2013 18:07

I have to set up X Factor to record!!

JumpJockey · 31/08/2013 18:32

Dear god no - it was the fact he'd even thought of it that amazed me! He's come over v Catholic about contraception Hmm but then after pointing out that even natural family planning is still "interfering with God's master plan" he is ok for me to look at hormonal stuff again. Great Hmm might try and push the snip argument again! But no, definitely notmplanning a third, oh no siree!

Though my old boss has just announced she's expecting, which is really good news (she is moderately old for first time mum and wasn't sure she would be able to) so can do vicarious baby excitment with her Grin

JumpJockey · 31/08/2013 18:34

Woops x post! That no was to Rubes!

Rubena · 31/08/2013 18:47

Ah ok JJ. Hmm we haven't done snip talk here. Dh would prob argue we don't do enough activity to warrant it Grin but actually I'm still on the pill and terrified it may not work some times. The other day I actually took 2 pills in one day out of fear when we hadn't done it for ages Smile

Thanks deids yes the vodka definitely took the edge off. Although dd is currently in a starfish face down on the kitchen floor due to a standoff over cauliflower. I've said no yogurt and no milk. DS ate all his and is currently pirouetting around with his milk and a yogurt in her face. Not helping.

JamInMyWellies · 31/08/2013 19:00

Yay to XFactor. Can't wait.

JJ I am a boring grump about bedtimes. Even when DS2 was horrific at sleeping I was super strict on bath story bed. It does mean now that they both go down really well. I do allow them to climb in with each other at wkends and if they say they are not tired yet they are allowed to read books in bed. Give me a few months though when No.3 pops out and am sure it will be a different story.

Horrible sainsbos trip here too. Said to DH I will go do the holiday restock and he said no let's all go. Just spent £160 and come home with loads I don't normally buy. Can't do the booze so have bought choccie. Grin

Rubena · 31/08/2013 19:23

oh see I could never spend £160 with Sainsbo's where children are involved without an orange van pulling up outside..... I'd abandon the trolly half way through & head straight for the razor blades and spirit aisles. My two are golden separately, but disastrous together. That is one thing I cannot manage. They are too close in age i think - how did I ever want twins!

Anyway, Cauliflower-gate over, and they are in bed. DD is so stubborn she will never agree to eating it despite desperately wanting her yogurt and milk. I even smothered it in cheese and she had one florette think that's what I meant at one point, then dug her heels in!

Right.... must open wine in preparation for XFactor......

DeidreBarlow · 31/08/2013 19:53

Ha ha! Rubes DD & DS play off each other like that. One gets told off & the other comes over angelic! Except the other day I sent DD to her room for persistently answering back. 5 mins later I heard DS upstairs trying to bust her out saying "quickly come out mum is in the conservatory!"

DeidreBarlow · 31/08/2013 19:56

Aargh DS refusing to sleep!! Currently stood top of stairs shouting for Smiley Shark to be read again! Doesn't that boy know X Factor is on... It's like GBBO all over again!! I'm turning the volume up and let DH sort him out....

beans37 · 31/08/2013 19:58

Kayz: here I used Sam for a phone consultation. She was great. Will read other posts now!

beans37 · 31/08/2013 20:03

Whoop whoop!

beans37 · 31/08/2013 20:03

Hope my waters don't break with excitement!

beans37 · 31/08/2013 21:35

Oh. Sadly disappointed.

beans37 · 31/08/2013 21:35

Crud

Rubena · 31/08/2013 22:19

Haha deids they sound exactly the same!

XFactor slightly disappointing tonight.... Will reserve judgment and hope it improves. Can't let go that quick Grin

JamInMyWellies · 01/09/2013 01:02

First few wks are always a bit hit and miss. Do love Sharon O though.

sybilfaulty · 01/09/2013 06:51

N holiday inn in Exeter. Now about to drive home. It's a long way! Wonder how many wee / sick/ coffee stops there will be. Everyone is clamouring for breakfast so quick one then hot the road.

Hope everyone has a good night.

beans37 · 01/09/2013 09:47

Good luck with your drive, Sybs! Hope it all goes ok. I had the best night's sleep last night. With DH having got the girls, I slept from 10.30pm-8.30am. Obviously was up for a wee about 5 times, but they were a blur as was so deep under.

Poor dog was a bit desperate when I let her out this morning as she'd been put to bed at 9.30pm so I could have a bath!

As of today, a) I am full term at 37 weeks and b) the baby will now be 4 school years below DD2, despite only being 3 years younger. Bugger!! Bad timing!

Rubena · 01/09/2013 10:53

Oh that's true Beans - ah you see, should've booked a section for 37 weeks! Grin Just kidding, that's only the silly thing I would do!! Lady get busy. You need to be preggo before the end of the year, so he/she will make the school year 2018! Shock
Right, since scan was fine, I'm ready to ditch the bike today and run jog a little while the others ride later along the tow path, with a nice little savvy blanc tickle up at the end! Should probably take the pooch today......

Artijoke · 01/09/2013 15:51

I have that Beans, DD2 is 2 years and 4 months younger than DD1 but as DD1 is entering Year 3, DD2 is only starting Reception. Its not all bad though as it reduces competition between them as the age gap seems larger. DS will be four years behind DD2 which is only 1 year more than the gap between the girls yet he is 4 years and 6 months younger than DD2. Of well! At least you can have your home birth now.

The girls are both at a birthday party and DS is napping. I am childless and choreless for the first time ever. Bliss. Am lying in the hammock composing this message.

Artijoke · 02/09/2013 09:43

Oops, I killed the thread. Where is everyone?

Rubena · 02/09/2013 09:46

Just dropped ds off for last day at nursery Saddd started at new preschool today too
Asked dh if he thinks I shouldn't have her in nursery for what we have planned. He replied "no not really, see how it goes then cut it back if you think that, but to be honest you can be a bit psycho at times, and I think a lot of that is not ever having a break from both kids" Shock
Deids I've booked a physio for Wed. Urgh. Did you just have one consultation or did you have loads of follow up?
Have to take shredded transfer casing back to car place now in London, in hope of getting our £250 back if we return it. Urgh. Just want to crawl back to bed really.
Must buck up.

Rubena · 02/09/2013 09:47

does anyone else still have 3-4 year olds going to preschool ? if so, how many days etc?
