Morning all
Lol at you Chacha..i find myself posting several times on here somedays too..it's all good!

G.O -your nanny sounds amazing! Must be lovely knowing the tots are in such good hands.
Diege a cleaner! fab! lol at the mould spots, I used to forget washing was in the machine all the time and left it there for ages..hehee

To elaborate on the other day , my friend who is 33 weeks pregnant has been diagnosed with severe pre eclampsia, I feel so sad for her, and so helpless. She will be in hospital now until the birth, which will most likely be early. And the babies dad is being a real jerk and won't even visit her..

Best go..O's standing up in his cot and yelling at me..hehe

BoB - if its any comfort 2 of Tessa's buddies were born at 32 weeks, on the same day but different families! They were both in Special care for a while, one for only 10 days, and by 8 months or so they had caught up size-wise etc with all the others. Seeing them all together now there is no way that you could tell who was early.
Also if your friend is in hospital they will have given her drugs to help develop the baby's lungs which can really make a difference - the baby who was only in special care for 10 days had the drugs the other one didn't and I think he was in there for 5 weeks.
HTH

babyonboard · 27/06/2006 08:48

Thanks tessasmum, what a coincidence thos ebabies being born on the same day!
She is recieving steroids and surfactants(?!) to help the lungs mature. It's just a shame I can't visit her as much as I'd like as they don't allow babies onto the ward.

And it was Valentines Day!

Rodeo · 27/06/2006 10:32

Morning
Bob, sorry to hear about your friend. I had early onset PE at 26 weeks with our first baby. I'd never even heard of it before then. It's good they've picked up on it, and she is in the best place. If it is severe, it's unlikely she'll go to term as the only cure is delivery, but 33 weeks shouldn't be too dangerous like Tessasmum says. Give her best wishes from us And remember to take in chocolate and magazines!
Diege, a cleaner, lovely! I don't know how you've managed before! I think all working mothers should have a cleaner paid for by the government Working Families Cleaner Credit or something! When are you off to Whitby? Think dp is going up there for a night out this Saturday. Sorry Whitby!
Twinkle & L&Smum are both on their hols now aren't they? Hope they are having a lovely time!
Chacha, it might take a while for them to become regular again. Are you sure your not pg?
Ds is having his school visit today with playgroup, he went off v. excited this morning And I've pulled something in my neck this morning - I was only reaching for a towel!! Hope it wears off soon! Speak later x

GarfieldsGirl · 27/06/2006 12:08

Hello, just waiting for my dad to take me shopping. Still no ins documents so still can't get tax, its so annoying and I'm smashing the place up at the mo cos I'm so hungry.

bob - about your friend, but at least she is being looked after at hosp and so's the baby. about babies dad tho.

Rodeo - cleaning family credit - if only!!

Diege - I want to rip this thing out of my arm and get the bed shaking! But DP said no more, and he's teh one who wanted a big family!

Diege · 27/06/2006 14:52

Afternoon!!
BOB: sounds like your friend and her babay are in good hands, though what's with her partner's attitude? Eh??? Agree, lots of choccies and mags I think! RODEO: hope your neck's loosened up..hey, nothing to do with your Ann Summers stuff I hope . Awww, little Joe and his school visit . So he starts in Sept then?? Jasmine if off to Chester Zoo today with school - poor things it's throwing it down . She wanted to know if they would be going to the zoo shop ; wonder who she gets that off eh .
GG: I take it you have 'the implant' then? (sounding very Matrix-like!!) Can't remember but think you are on the good side of 20, so you could always change DP's mind at some point in the future!!
NIGHTMARE nights have returned with Scarlett - tantrum at 1am ( I wanna SNUGGY!!!![CUDDLE])in the style of exorcist girl. Even laughed to myself at the time, though through extremely gritted teeth I might add!! This was after being up with her twice already over cover facing wrong way/couldn't find drink cup (in her hand), so not toally heartless, but in the end had to threaten a smack and boy it would have happended too!!!. Hmmm, the best contraception I think. Seem to have lost my recent broodiness

Diege · 27/06/2006 14:54

Meant 'good side of 30' GG, not that there's anything wrong with being under 20...shut up Dawn!!!!

Diege · 27/06/2006 14:54

Or indeed over 30, or 40!!!

Rodeo · 27/06/2006 16:07

LOL Diege - No, Ann Summers delivery hasn't arrived yet! I'm with Jasmine - I LOVE the zoo shop! It's the best bit All those cuddly animals.....and poor you with the night-time screaming Joe has only done it a handful of times but makes me want to thrash him and shout 'SHUT UP YOU IRRITATING CHILD!!' (I'm obviously not at my parenting best in the middle of the night)
My friend told me about broodiness 'It's not you wanting another baby, it's your hormones - don't listen to them' It didn't work, got pg with Jess not long after!
Right off to help out at the Infants Open Evening on the refreshments stall, cannot be bothered though, why oh why did I join the PTA?!

Rodeo · 27/06/2006 16:09

Oh dear, that stands out rather alot Obviously I don't speak to my child like that really

ChaCha · 27/06/2006 17:10

Hi girls,

How is everyone today? Hope all is well.

My first job came through Customer was happy with quote so am going to busy transcribing for Friday's deadline....yippppeeeee! Wish me luck.

Hope I can still make SW meeting because i am really looking forward to it now. Better work hard tonight eh?

GG, hope you get out to the shops. Hate it when cupboards are empty. I devised a two week meal planner and bought nothing else except what we are to eat at mealtimes, am now creeping around looking for treats and there are NONE! Of course, this will not happen when slimming for real

BoB - Also hope friend is ok. Would like to send msg for her partner, but am too polite.

Rodeo - LOL!! You make me giggle. Enjoy the PTA and I like your friend's definition of broodiness. Doubt very much that i could be PG as we haven't exactly been em..emm...emmm.. lately. I'm sure is just hormones but am seriously not hoping cysts, endo etc..

Diege - Waking up in the night must be double tiring when you've to work the next day. Feel for you.

DS has just peed on grandad. See you all soon x

tessasmum · 27/06/2006 17:14

Covering all bases on the age thing there Diege

Nova - meant to say give it another few weeks and I would have taken up your Grumpy Old Women offer like a shot. I was SO tempted but would have had to come on my own. However Ash will now take a bottle (at last!!!!!), just have to get him over his fear of SiL's boyfriend (and train SiL!) and we'll be out! Not that either of us have the energy to leave the sofa at the moment

Nearly packed and ready to go tomorrow morning. Please don't talk all week as I'll never catch up when I get back

Diege · 27/06/2006 20:12

Evening!! LOL RODEO! That is EXACTLY what I am like in the middle of the night, like a mad woman screaming back through gritted teeth. DH rolls over and say, 'awww, she only wants a cuddle, poor little thing', before drifting back into a deep sleep' . Last night he turned to me when she eventually settled, and said 'well done!', well I just screamed 'Oh F**k off!!' back. A tad unreasonable d'you think?? .
CHACHA: sounds like things are really coming together for you work-wise, and also re: SW!! Would be interested to hear how your 'menus' go, as I think this is half the problem with me; having lots of stuff in, but no proper meals after the first few days. Want to try on-line food shopping, so would be useful to have some menu ideas I guess .
Think we have a cleaner too! £8.50 an hour (is this good???; think so)and it would take her and one other 3 hours , so quite a bit of wodge, but hey, to have a clean house!!!
TESSA: have a wonderful time!!! You will be fine, and we promise not to talk when you are away !!
Oh before I go, was a bit shocked about one of the babies at nursery. This baby has been in full time nursery since he was 4 days old (really)and is 10 weeks old now. He was screaming when I arrived tonight to pick up dds, and I noticed he was being fed baby food out of a jar. At 10 weeks!! The staff were really embarrassed about it, and of course the poor mite can't even take food in his mouth properly, but his mum insists because he's hungry all the time on regular formula. The staff have suggested hungrier baby milk, even rusk in bottle as some sort of compromise, but she says no. She even brought in 7 month jars originally, to 'really fill him up', but they have managed to drop her down to 4 month ones. Now I really don't want to criticise, as I know how hard this whole baby lark can be, but 10 weeks???? Felt really awful hearing his hunger cries as I was leaving .
Talkig of which, my quorn escalopes are ready

Rodeo · 27/06/2006 21:37

Diege OMG the poor baby Oh what a poor little thing. And full time nursery at 4 days?!!!! What do the parents do that is so important she needs to go back that quickly?? Ooh that'd make me want to slap them and kidnap the baby....Maybe I'm being too harsh, maybe they're head of the UN or too busy setting up orphanages in China.....to think I used emoticons when I started weaning Jess at 4 and a half months! Glad I'm not the only one swearing at dp too, he made some flippant comment asking me to be his slave (as I was cooking dinner, splitting up a fight, giving the baby her bottle etc), 'How does f**k off sound?!'!
Good news about your business Chacha! That's great! Glad you're looking forward to SW as well, when are they? We'll be thinking of you
Tessasmum, have a lovely trip home! No we won't speak at all while your away
PTA thing went well, raised about 100 pounds just with a few crappy games and refreshments, nice to feel I'm doing my bit (And our PTA only has 6 members)
Oh and is it just me, or is it nigh on impossible to get a pair of trousers on an 8 month baby?? You get one leg in, go to put the other leg in and the first leg is pulled out! How do you all manage? I think I might have to resort to kneeling on her!!!
Hope everyone else is well, haven't heard from Brownie or Nova for a while - hope you girls are ok Off to watch BB, is anyone else still watching?

Diege · 27/06/2006 21:43

Yes me . Having a love-hate relationship with Nicky at the moment!! Imogen looks spit of friend I'm off to Portugal with and I'm really going off Aisling (sp??) . Oh well done RODEO at PTA tonight! How do you find the energy?? Oh the poor baby's mum works in local bargain shop as a sales assistant, not sure about dad. Hardly UN!! She even picks him up late so she can go on sunbed (her words!!). And he is the cutest little boy too .
Right, back to BB!!!

Diege · 27/06/2006 21:49

Oh and re: trousers 'soft' knee on tummy usually works

Rodeo · 27/06/2006 21:56

Yes, have the love-hate thing going on too with our Nicky! AND my friend Heather is also the double of Imogen! Did you see the dustbin lid spinning? That was so funny!! Don't really like Suzie, and Lea is getting annoying! The rest aren't bad, quite like watching Glynn (love his accent!) and Mikey (now the awful Grace has gone!) and Pete of course. Even enjoying Rich's bitching!
SORRY CHACHA (and other BB-non-watchers)!!

goldenoldie · 27/06/2006 22:06

BoB - why is baby's dad refusing to visit girlfriend in hospital? Feel sorry for her having a baby for a bloke like that. Imagine what he will be like a few months down the road.................

Diege - £8.50 an hour? That is more than my nanny takes home, and a lot more than my cleaner get paid! Keep it quiet or they will both want a pay rise from me!

Nanny offered to do DTs washing today. I refused and told her to relax when they nap. Came home to find a nice, clean, pile of laundry. Lovely nanny. Wonder if she can cook?.................

Rodeo - Our local MP, was back at work 6 days after her son was born. But I suppose helping to run ther country is a pretty good excuse for full-time day-care of tiny baby?

Congrats on the business ChaCha.

Down to 9st7lbs today. Having bowl of chocolate (melted into which I am dipping sliced bananna) to celebrate.

Diege · 28/06/2006 09:18

Morning everyone . Very inspired by your weight loss GO, and the choccy bananas sound yummy!!! Sounds like you are getting an excellent cleaner/nanny package there - average rate is £12.50 here, thought it would be more in London?? There are two of them though, so that's realky only £4.25 an hour (minimum wage-ish??)
Another bad night (yawns all round!), but now Scarlett has a temp so it could all have been down to that?? (at least lastr night's palava!!). Am not at my best with sick kids I must say, but trying to do my best mary poppins impression, with a buit of nanny mcphee thrown in!!
Speak later!
Diege

Londoner · 28/06/2006 09:49

Hello ,

Diege, hope Scarlett feels better soon...
Bob, hope your lady and baby manage to get through okay, I have a friend who delivered 8 weeks, nearly 9 weeks, early and the baby is now 18 months and you'd never know... she's reaching all of the normal milestones on time, amazing. Lovely for her to have you as a friend.
Golden, congratulations on the weight loss!
Hi to everyone else too.... sleepless nights here too due to E cutting her top front teeth, so exciting! These teeth really change their 'look' don't they?
OMG we've got mice! Saw one eating crumbs on our kitchen floor on Monday... and we've got 2 cats and traps under all the cupboards! Last night, we had just watched that great football match and dh got up to turn off tv and stepped on half a dead mouse! Aaaah lol lol lol! Then found the other half in the hallway on his way to get cleaning up stuff!!!! Was so funny, dh was totally repulsed... lol. Cats can stay after all.....
Better go and sweep up the rest of those crumbs .

Londoner · 28/06/2006 10:20

ChaCha - how're you today? Sorry to hear you're feeling so rubbish and hormonal, that's horrid. Yes do remember that 1st af after 1st baby was horrendous, heavy, painful, long time coming and for the next few the same, but they settled back to normal after a few months. Remember feeling they would be like that forever more, but they weren't so hopefully yours will be the same. What makes you think it's return of endo? Did you feel very hormonal with that too? Might you perhaps discuss this with gp? Are you okay, sounds like you might be feeling a bit down aswell? When did you stop bf.... have just thought it could all be linked to that.. when you stop bf your hormones go through a massive adjustment, can make your skin and hair different, make you feel tired and low that kind of thing, perhaps it could all be linked to this.... I'll email you my number if you want to let out you can..... hope you feel better soon. Have you let dh know how you're feeling? Sorry so many questions, am concerned, your way sweetheart]]]].

ChaCha · 28/06/2006 10:39

Hi girls,

Am just about to start today's transcription so will log on tonight when MIL arrives to have some catch up time. Look forward to reading all your news.

Still no AF, feeling very hormonal, might test to rule any PG out. Would be very surprised considering we had v.little time together recently. I feel sooooooo yuk. On that happy note will start work xxxx

Diege · 28/06/2006 10:57

OMG LONDONER!!!Treading on a dead mouse!!!!! We have them too, in the garage; chewed through buggy basket net once after I'd left a half-eaten lolly in there . Think they are cute in pet shops/wilds, but do the 'female' thing and scream the house down when I actually see them in house!!! Aww, front teeth!!! Yes, it does change their 'look', like little toddler imposters, with their comedy teeth
Scarlett is sleeping off a temp of 39.9, so fingers crossed she will be feeling better soon

Diege · 28/06/2006 10:59

ooh CHACHA, do you think youn could be pregnant?????? Good idea to do a test anyway I think. Good luck with transciption!!
