I brought The Little Mister into bed this morning to feed him and woke up to find him blowing raspberries on my boobs.

ahhh I'm so bad at keeping up! sorry.

sharing a nice recipe to make up for it. good for both you and lo to eat :)

cheats orange stew

sweat chopped onion with chunk of salt free butter low heat till nice and soft.

sweat chopped sweet potato, butternut squash, orange or red pepper if you want/have, carrot or 2 and sometimes one stick of celery (makes it a bit peppery so optional).

add chopped sulphur free apricots.

chop/ snip up as many boneless- skinless chicken thighs as you wish. I did 3 or 4. bung in.

add a load of red lentils. about half a cup - a full cup, up to you.

if you have any salt free chicken stock (I deliberately roasted a chicken with no salt and froze stock) bung it in. or just add some water or both about enough to cover it all. add more later if looks like it needs it.

add some thyme if you have. and a bay leaf.

cook till mushy. I did low heat for a few hours - bit like slow cooker. can be a slow cooker recipe.

serve with rice or crusty bread and to make a bit zingyer for grown ups mix a bit of chilli jam in when serving, or just a chilli. mush/ whizz to whatever consistency lo likes or try as it is. the chicken goes nice and mushy if cooked long enough.
Smile

I'm in 4 days a week. I don't like hotdesking, but it's even worse when you're the only person doing it and everyone else has their own personal desk.

FoD that's sweet.

FoD what a lovely way to wake upGrin

Clarella that recipe sounds lovely.

Beasty hope you get tomorrow off.

Isthat sorry your having a bad couple of daysThanksWine

We are truely in the throws of something here. We're not sure if its teeth, or earache and a cold. She keeps getting snot trails down her face. And the thing is i HATE snot, not just a little bit of hate but it makes me want to vomit. I can and will deal with any other fluid but snot disgusts me. Anyway today she is refusing to wear clothes she has a huge meltdown when i put clothes on her and only stops when they come off. Has anyone elses baby done that??

Oh blast - where did my reply go? Hales, I posted to say we hadn't had clothes refusal here, but could she be running a temperature and feel hot?

Spotty - wow, exciting! I can't wait for things like waving, clapping, holding out arms to be picked up.

Yay spotty GrinGrin

Mama no temperature, she doesn't feel warm to touch and the thermometer says 36.6oc. We've eventually compromised on a sleepsuit and no vest but the poor thing keeps rubbing her ears.

spotty hope your head is feeling better, migraines are hideous. Bet you're exhausted now. It's funny how they all do different things isn't it, can't remember dd1 or 2 being big wavers. Bet your dd loves it!
fod boob raspberries - so cute!
hales sounds like a visit to the gp is in order. T doesn't demand her clothes off but hates getting dressed, particularly for bed.

We went to a sensory room at a local children's centre today, it was fab. Not sure how common they are but we'll def go again. utopian it was at the Woking (sheerwater) one so easy for you. The half hour slot went so fast. T and dd2 (just turned 3 loved it) and it was so great to have somewhere new different and free to take them.

Hi everyone, I have been off this thread for ages, due to going back to work etc - but DD is 6 months now.

Can all your babies sit unaided? Mine can't, and I'm sure my first one could by 6 months.

WLmum · 26/06/2013 20:44

beasty I hate hot desking too.

I caught sight of my mammoth jelly belly in the mirror today - it has got to go!

No Leobear, DS constantly keels over if left unsupported.

Uh oh Hales Fx they're both okay.

Hope you're feeling better Spotty.

The problem is WL biscuits are so good and exercise is so crap Wink

J completely refused his pasta in a homemade veg sauce tea PFB and instead locked Philadelphia off a slice of toast Grin

ah, thanks for your reply, WillyouDo. Funny, for some reason I thought they all sat at 6 months, but clearly not! I also thought I wouldn't worry with my second - clearly not!!!

Hello to everyone else, hope you are all doing well.

WLmum · 26/06/2013 22:21

Hi leo if I remember rightly it used to be at the 8 month check they asked about sitting unaided so plenty of time to go yet. My dd can't really sit unaided but a friends ds who is a few weeks younger sits amazingly.

willyou I do so love a biscuit and the 5 cupcakes I are yesterday wont be helping! (Dd2 and I made some for fils bday but obviously product testing was necessary). I've just done 5 mins with the weighted hula hoop!

WL i've just said to DP that i am huge now and need to lose so much weight so all snacky stuff is getting hidden by him tomorrow.

Hi Leo, mine can sit unaided but i wouldn't leave her as she tends to faceplant after a while.

Spotty sorry i forgot about your Migraine FX its gone now.

We managed to get H in a sleepsuit with no vest and after her bath we put her clothes in with no problems. We'll see how tomorrow goes.

DS is eating bloody slowly tonight. Would probably be pointless tapping my watch and saying "In your own time" wouldn't it?

MaMaPo · 27/06/2013 03:28

Oh help. Dreadful night here. Lots of restlessness after bedtime, woke properly crying at 9.30pm,1am and now. Given calpol but I wonder what's going on here. Teeth and perhaps a cold, what a fab combination. I just can't face 90 minute wake ups. I thought sleep was improving, damn it.

Supposed to be going out for cocktails with NCT group tomorrow night. Fat chance if this continues tonight.

He woke again at 3:45 and I managed to settle him until now. Not too bad I suppose. Hope he goes back down....

Leo ds isn't sitting at seven months. He waves though Grin and hides his willy inbetween his legs so he looks like a girl BlushGrin

Well the good news here is that it looks like the sleep training is paying off and T slept from 8.30 til 5.50!! Would have been a great nights sleep but I had so much to do I didn't get to bed til after 11 then her cot sensor alarm went off 5 times between 1 and 4 and dd2 got me up to chase a monster out of her room at 4.30. Am bloody shattered and couldn't ask DH to get up as he didn't get in from work until nearly 2 and is on lates again tonight. Looks like a coffee and chocolate day here today.

Oh no WL Sad ds was really hungry when he woke at 11:15. I thought I wouldn't be able to tell but I can so that's ok...pâté on toast and coffee here mmmm

Wanted to ask I've seen a job advertised it's doing general admin/accounts work for a photography/portrait studio but it's freelance. Why would they do this? It's set hours and days, would you think they're likely to turn around in November and say 'well it's a quiet month so we don't need you now until after Christmas'?

Report
WLmum · 27/06/2013 07:10

Oh dear, I put T in her walker while I got bits for dd1 and left a coffee on a low table - didn't even think. Luckily it was quite cool as T poured it all over the floor (none on her except her feet where the puddle spread!)

Hmm yeah it could be that they don't want to commit but could also to do with not paying employers tax and ni contributions, pension responsibilities etc. I'd have a chat with them about anticipated work loads/timescales etc. it might be a little bit of a gamble but tbh even if it was employed post, if work loads aren't as high as they were expecting there's no guarantee of an ongoing job.
