Morning! Ds slept 23.00 - 05.40. Bit of a late night, took him to a board meeting with me. He seemed to love it, was very vocal throughout...

Spotty R had venison sausage with mash last week and loved it. He's started turning his nose up at jars but likes fried snapper from the Jamaican cafe, spag bol and curry!

He's been sleeping like an asthmatic insomniac donkey lately but now babbles with consonants (Saturday), walks holding hands (3 steps), pulled himself up on me and on the sofa and used a pincer grip (whole hand vs thumb) to pick up his naan bread the three last ones were all today!

He's 7 1/2 months and sits unsupported, rolls both ways front to back and back to front, and drags himself a foot or two along the floor to reach stuff. Plus the above new stuff

spotty that's great eating, T is def not ready for lumps yet - I mixed some well cooked red lentils into some puréed veg at lunch and she was not that keen on the new texture, same with some quite lumpy puréed apple.

After last nights exploits I'm now totally done in. Just doing Ts bedtime feed then quick tidy, cuppa and bed, oh and official return to work email - boo.

Both reactions have been red lumps round his mouth (and eye when he's rubbed his hand there). Also hiccups. Both went after about 30 mins.

That's really good stacks! Glad you're getting some sleep. Could be the egg, could be the tuna (less likely). What sort of reaction was it?

Ds has no signs of teeth either, I'm quite glad really not looking forward to the biting. Dd had two by now though.

Ds ate [98% pork] sausage and mash for dinner with cauliflower, broccoli, carrots and peas. It was really lumpy too he did pretty well.

Nutella ds likes to munch on cucumber but really loves apple. He also loves the banana soreen but it's quite sugary so not surprised!

T has had another allergic reaction :( this time to tuna mayo. I think it might be the egg in the mayo? I really don't want an allergic baby/child. Has anyone else had any problems with allergic reactions?

Nutella - I hope LO cheers up soon and gets a tooth. Is there any sign of a tooth coming through? White lumps or similar? We've got no signs still.

Hope other miserable babies cheer up soon spotty and mama. It's hard when they won't stop crying. Hope you both get good nights tonight.

Leo, T has been sitting unaided since about 5 months, but has only learnt to roll in the last couple of days and shows no sign of crawling at all. I think they all just do things in their own time and have their own agenda. One of the babies (slightly older than T) at a group I go to has really poor head control and can't sit up, but babbles way more than T and has lots of sounds for her age.

Did you enjoy your day off barbeasty? I hate having nothing to do in work, it just totally wastes the whole day and makes me feel like I need to achieve something once I get home instead of being able to relax.

Did you send your cv spotty? I hope so, it can't hurt to apply.

We've had a couple of good nights here (though not compared to most of you unfortunately). T has been doing about 2 hours in his cot before coming into bed with me for his first feed. We've also had a couple of 4 hour sleeps! He woke me once on Tuesday night between 10 and 5, and slept 12-4 last night (though still waking every 1-2 hours the rest of the night). Feeling much better for some longer sleeps :)

Hello ladies,
I'm really hoping DS will produce at least a tooth soon. He is so miserable! Although it seems worse in the afternoon...and he was moaning this evening so I did everything I could think of except Schafer his nappy, he has slightly sore little boy bits. In hoping it was teething wee and that it will all soon be over!
Someone asked about NZ? DP and I were both on holiday when we met. We flew back and forth (between London& Nuremberg) for about 10 months to visit each other and then I made the move.

Hope everyone else's little ones feel better soon. DS seems to enjoy chewing on a bit of cucumber - I read that was good for teething. Chamomile tea is amazing in sore bottoms. And we have a herbal/ homeopathic thing that seems to work- vibrucol it's called; but I don't know if you can get it in the uk. Hope that helps someone! X

Leo, baby C is 29 weeks today and sits well but isn't safe to be left alone or without pillows. She started sitting v suddenly about 5 weeks ago. Can't roll and no interest in crawling! Every baby is so different.

C has been up since 6 and has been crying most the morning. Did manage to rock her to sleep and she got about 30 minutes before waking up crying again. She's in my arms now, asleep but crying at intervals. Never seen her so upset before.

Yes Spotty, go for it. I always work on the principal of apply first, think later. You can always turn a job down if it's offered, and it would mean not going back to the job you hate!

leo A is sitting reasonably well but still wobbles, and has come on hugely in the last 2 weeks. I have to be really careful not to compare him with DD,who was crawling sitting and had teeth by now.

I've taken today off. My soon to be boss said it was ok and I heard absolutely nothing from my old boss, so I've done it!

I have to tidy & clean the whole house and make a birthday cake for DD's party on Saturday. So not a relaxing day!

A slept ok. But DD woke at around 2am wanting a ponytail. So still 3 wakings overall.

spotty send in your CV, it can't hurt and if anything else it will just get you back into the flow of applying/interviewing for jobs which can get harder the longer you've not done it.

leo ds can't sit up unaided for more than a few seconds and he'll be 6 months next week.

He can't wave but does hold hands up/out to be picked up.

That's what I thought WL also if I wasn't working I wouldn't have any money coming in at all...I will send my cv. Probably won't even get an interview!

Sorry about sleepless nights. Ds woke for a feed around 2 but would only settle in our bed, so I'm knackered. He's just had another feed and i've put him into his own bed.
Annoyed with dp. He was supposed to bath ds last night but conked out again! I'm being silly but I look forward to that time so that I can set things back for the next day e.g washing up, sterilising of play mat and toy, set up first laundry wash. I was knackered last night so I went to bed after putting ds to bed, so waking up to loads to do.

Hmm yeah it could be that they don't want to commit but could also to do with not paying employers tax and ni contributions, pension responsibilities etc. I'd have a chat with them about anticipated work loads/timescales etc. it might be a little bit of a gamble but tbh even if it was employed post, if work loads aren't as high as they were expecting there's no guarantee of an ongoing job.
