Hope it's good news WL.

Hope the first day back has been ok FoD.

Happy birthday 2blessed

I'm utterly shattered, and if I never hear "mummy, my nose" said in the ultimate whiny toddler voice again, it will be too soon!

WLmum · 24/06/2013 16:36

Oh yes, hope its been ok fod

FriendofDorothy · 24/06/2013 16:53

I am home. I survived and the boys survived at home without me!

I even quite enjoyed it!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 24/06/2013 17:18

Yay FoD glad all went well.

Poor DD Barbeasty is she still poorly?

Yoghurt-related enquiry. I want to give Jamie some yoghurt and I have seen people say that baby yogurts are just a rip off. I've been told to just buy ones without too much sugar, but I don't know what that means. What constitutes too much sugar? Any recommendations?

SpottyTeacakes · 24/06/2013 17:22

Willyou we have the yeo valley baby ones it's 12 for £2.50 and no added sugar which I don't think is a top off. You can also get plum ones. Personally I steer clear of petite filous and munch bunch little stars etc as there is just so much sugar in them. Dd has only recently started having yoghurts with sugar in.... Or you can make your own by buying full fat plain yoghurt and adding some fruit purée.

FoD I'm glad it was ok Smile

Barbeasty dd is being a terror I feel your pain!

Barbeasty · 24/06/2013 17:45

It depends how much yoghurt they eat too. A baby one might be more £ per gram, but if you throw out half an adult pot but they eat all a child pot, then really it's no more expensive. We like the yeo valley ones too (and A definitely eats the whole pot).

Glad today went well FoD.

DD is at the tale end of what went from 5 days of fever to a hideous cold. She's got through over a box of tissues. Not impressed when A finds where she's scattered them. He has a homing instinct for anything he shouldn't chew.

He has had the cold too, but nowhere near as badly. I thought he was the one who should have days off ill when he started nursery! I'm waiting to get it. Last time I went back to work and promptly caught a virus that turned into pneumonia. I'd rather avoid that this time.

Spotty it's such a special age, isn't it. DD turns 3 tomorrow and really knows how to be difficult. She bit A's hand today, when we were out for lunch. Apparently she was just pretending.

I was glad to drive the hour and a half to Winchester to collect MIL and then the same drive back. They don't get up to too much strapped unto the back of the car!

SpottyTeacakes · 24/06/2013 17:55

Plus with the Yeo valley ones you can make a cow out of the box Grin

I caught dd dragging ds across the floor by the back of his baby grow Hmm

WillYouDoTheFandango · 24/06/2013 18:02

Thanks peeps, I bought Ella's ones but he wasn't super keen and they went out of date. I might buy some natural and mix fruit purée into it as I can have that on my muesli so not such a massive waste if he hates it again.

Grin To your DD Spotty least she's including him in her games!

SpottyTeacakes · 24/06/2013 18:04

Oh dd has always loved all yoghurts and hated the Ella's one. I tried them after she wouldn't eat it and they're yuck!

WLmum · 24/06/2013 18:07

Glad it went ok fod and that you actually rather enjoyed it Smile
beasty hope you stay well this time!
willyou we have the yeo valley full fat natural yoghurts and add fruit purée - at the moment T only has a spoon out of someone else's but soon will have 1/2 pot per serving - the other half keeps fine with cling film over the top. For me I make a granola to have in it and it is delicious!
Kids yoghurts generally have loads of sugar and not much fruit.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 24/06/2013 18:09

Ah okay Spotty I shall try something else then.

Had to really ramp up the weaning today, been doing 1-2 meals but DS demanded extra food today when I was eating lunch. He's had porridge with strawberries, breadsticks and cucumber sticks followed by apple and pear purée at lunch then pasta with tomato, pepper, onion, leek, aubergine and courgette sauce. He even managed small lumps. Take that GMiL, he obviously wasn't ready before and now that he is it's just clicking!

FriendofDorothy · 24/06/2013 18:34

Our hv told us not to bother with kids yoghurt as there is too much sugar in them so we use full fat natural yoghurt and pureed fruit.

SpottyTeacakes · 24/06/2013 18:36

That's what the Yeo valley and plum ones are, I keep meaning to do it myself!

Ouch you know feeding's going to be painful when the breast pad has stuck to your nipple.... Silly me gave away all my lansinoh

SpottyTeacakes · 24/06/2013 18:47

So you know my friend who was coming back to the uk to have her baby? Well she had her today Smile I can't remember the due date but at least a week away possibly two. Anyway her partner is still in the Bahamas as he is only allowed two weeks off work so he missed it I feel really sad for them Sad luckily she has a fab mum

WLmum · 24/06/2013 19:58

That's so sad spotty, I can't imagine not having dp with me for the births of our children (even if I did tell him to F off during labour with dd1).

I'm going for a swim all by myself tonight! Decadent! Fx T behaves herself while I'm gone.

willyou good for you. I think you're right, trying to wean before they're ready will only lead to upset all round. Nice to be right isn't it!

itsMYNutella · 24/06/2013 20:25

Good evening ladies!
spotty I'm jealous, wish I could make a cow from a box of yogurts. Sadly you don't get many imaginative products here

FriendofDorothy · 24/06/2013 23:09

Bloody baby is still awake!Confused

halestone · 24/06/2013 23:39

I don't know whats happened to my baby she is still awake again Confused FoD is there room on your wide awake couch?

OP posts:
SpottyTeacakes · 25/06/2013 02:05

First wake up from ds and he's settled without a feed. I'm really engorged on one side though so hoping he will demand some food soon!

MaMaPo · 25/06/2013 02:26

If there's a wide awake couch, hales, I'm on it! C woke at 9.30 and 1.30 - both v unusual times, and she was unusually upset. I figure teething, have given calpol and trying to feed to sleep.

2blessed · 25/06/2013 03:54

Thanks for the birthday wishes, had a lovely chilled day. Ds and I went for coffee in m&s before I bought him a few treats. Then dm and db came round for dinner in the evening.

Glad today went well FoD

Ds just woke for a quick feed and has gone back to bed.

SpottyTeacakes · 25/06/2013 04:07

Ds has just woken up my boob hurts so much I didn't even bother trying to settle him!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 25/06/2013 04:30

Sorry you're all still up ladies, hope your babies have all given in and you're all fast asleep now.

This is first wake up since 9:15! Yay! He's been so restless tonight though, he's woken me several times moaning in his sleep.

halestone · 25/06/2013 06:04

I've made a space next to me for you Mama.

2.5 hours sleep, i was suppose to be able to stay in bed whilst DP did the wake ups tonight. Cue a screaming baby who is now tucked into me whilst i'm feeding her a bottle and a sleeping DP. I realise this sounds really selfish but its like shes gone back to her really bad sleeping habits the last 2 nights (not quite as bad though) and i am terrified of having tiny amounts of sleep again. I know thats really selfish but i don't know how i'll copeConfused

Spotty would it help if you pumped whilst trying to settle DS?

halestone · 25/06/2013 06:05
