pr you remind me of my cousin, she lives in Vietnam and comes home twice a year and the weeks leading up to home time she messages me with all the lovely things she is going to eat when she gets back. Top of the list for when she is back in 2 weeks is pie and chips from the chippy.

StuntNun · 05/06/2013 17:00

Ooh I forgot about that Chasing. DS1's trumpet exam was cancelled the day before and rescheduled for the 29th PHEW! so a bit more time for practicing his scales.

there are some episodes of Ben and holly which are comedy geniusGrin

BigPigLittlePig · 05/06/2013 17:05

Hello! I'm back from a lovely lovely break. In the past 3 days, F has -

  1. learnt to sit up completely by herself for 40 minutes at a time
  2. started teething with a razor sharp devil of a tooth
  3. learnt to poke her tongue out and blow raspberries
  4. discovered that the world is a much more interesting place when upright
  5. slept in a drawer Grin

So a busy few days!

Trying to remember what I wanted to say to people...

GT it does sound as though P has a bit of a drink problem
PR dd1 sounds like a proper little chimp bless her, but they are delightful when asleep
Chasing glad you're enjoying CBeebies Grin
Det have you POAS yet? Wink
Luis sorry you had the night alone

Tonight F is going into her own room. I am so tempted to put it off just a bit more, but no. It needs to be done. Now is as good a time as any. But am feeling more than a bit sad/apprehensive etc about it. My baby's growing up!

ChasingDaisy · 05/06/2013 17:06

Phew!

Has anyone tried the AK lovely lentils recipe? Does it freeze well?

ChasingDaisy · 05/06/2013 17:08

Ahem, slept in a drawer? Grin Story please!

PetiteRaleuse · 05/06/2013 17:11

I froze the AK lentils recipe. I don't know if it froze well but it was still eaten.

pig glad you had a good trip. Babies and toddlers often suddenly come on in leaps and bounds when on holiday. Maybe the change in surroundings piques their curiosity. It must be a massive difference for them to see the world from sitting up.

Brockle · 05/06/2013 17:12

Y is enjoying that recipe chasing and freezes great.

ChasingDaisy · 05/06/2013 17:13

Following the TV theme, my first word was apparently Blockbusters Hmm

PetiteRaleuse · 05/06/2013 17:14

fruit I will deliberately be walking up and down the street in front of the chippy several times before leaving, just so I can try and remember the smell.

We do get something like proper chippie chips in the roadside chip stalls and cafes in Belgium, but I always need another excuse to go there, as saying I am going to Belgium for the morning to scoff chips makes me sound like a pig.

PetiteRaleuse · 05/06/2013 17:15

Ooh just realised will be driving through Belgium to go to Calais on Sunday. Wll be able to stop at chip shops. Yay. Sunday can't come round fast enough. I can't wait to get the journey over with so my food fest can begin.

Pikz · 05/06/2013 17:52

Ak lentils are a massive hit and freezt well.

Having a horrendous day, baby teething like a demon has cried most of day and won't sleep as nods off and then wakes up crying in pain :( have been on the go since 3.30am.

Have broken tooth, emergency route canal tomorrow and then docs for LO conjunctivitis. It never rains but it pours and sodding car still in garage after ikea smash.

PetiteRaleuse · 05/06/2013 18:05

pikz that sounds horrible :(

TheDetective · 05/06/2013 18:08

PR You are making me VERY FUCKING HUNGRY!!! Grin

No POAS here, unless they do one for detecting pork babies? Not eating that stuff again. Envy

Anyway, not due on til next week - are we quiche?! Grin

horseylady · 05/06/2013 18:09

Yes to lentils. Freezes well. Have just made the one pot chicken. He'd better bloody like it as there's tonnes of the stuff knocking around!! The cauliflower cheese has frozen well too.

Never had cbeebies on here. Wouldn't even know how find it!! Long may that continue. He does, however, recognise the theme tune to the Simpsons thanks to dh.

He's learnt to open drawers from his cupboard. And charge. Everything. He's so fast!!

horseylady · 05/06/2013 18:09

From his walker* next will be opening the cupboard.

Lily311 · 05/06/2013 18:17

Is O the only one who never watched any telly? Blush
We are never at home and I'm a radio person not a telly one. I might switch it on tmrw.

BigPigLittlePig · 05/06/2013 18:24

Lily no tv here - she's really not bothered by it. Give her a book and she'll spend hours licking it, turning the pages, stroking the shiny cover. She's her mothers girl, alright. Disclaimer: I don't lick books.

Chasing will put a pic on fb of the drawer Grin - too penniless to buy a travel cot, so crib mattress in drawer is just as good.

Off to the shops tomorrow with a long list of stuff to make into scrummy purees.

Final feed before bed underway. Big Girl Bed.

ChasingDaisy · 05/06/2013 18:31

Lily I had the best of intentions about no tv. I never plonk him in front of it, but I do have it on all the time a lot.

Thanks Detective I was wondering today when I was due on but couldn't be bothered to check my diary Grin

O has a sudden interest in climbing every-fucking-where, including out of his bouncer Confused

ChasingDaisy · 05/06/2013 18:33

I long for Oscar to love books. Proper bookworm, me.

Good luck big and little pigs!

PetiteRaleuse · 05/06/2013 18:42

I prefer books, as does DD1 actually. But Cbeebies is great when I'm dealing with LO or when, like yesterday, there's a choice between tv and selling her to the highest bidder :o

Lily311 · 05/06/2013 19:01

pr how do you get English tv in France? I have shit bbc entertainment and bbc news. Nothing decent. Thanks fuck the hbo movie channel supports English language.

I share pictures of O through a diff website with family and close friends. I swear my friend copies me, whatever O does, her daughter will do on Facebook the very next day. It was sweet at the beginning, than funny, now I am angry and annoyed. Why can't she improvise? Fuck her, I hate people who try to seem original but they are a scam.

O loves to chew on books. She has an impressive library thanks to the book people.Today she ducked for goodnight moon, she nearly fall down the sofa.

ValiumQueen · 05/06/2013 19:08

((Pikz)) that sounds horrid Sad

I am taking J to the dr tomorrow as his skin is still horrid. Better than it was, but still horrid. I have been trying to get some sun on it but it has made no difference and I do not want him getting burnt.

ChasingDaisy · 05/06/2013 19:10

Has everyone lowered their cots down a level yet? I keep meaning to but I worry about how my back will cope.

P's new working hours mean that I am pretty much looking after O alone 24/7. Turns out I can actually do it.

TheDetective · 05/06/2013 19:14

Chasing, I'm still nagging for that one to be done. I can't do it alone - but he doesn't listen. Hmm

Just had the most amazing dinner. Just chicken, veg and roast potatoes. But covered in gravy! And the potatoes were done in frylight. Was terribly suspicious that they would be shit. But they are the best roasties I've had in forever!

I'm sat here very satisfied Grin. For the SW peeps. 6 syns - 3 syns for low fat marge to mash the carrot and swede, and 3 syns for 200ml of gravy. Nom.
