Well N got up at 4. Oh well, was it crazy to think I could have two nights?

Yesterday was fab! So much sunshine. I wish I could have taken some more pics.

Evil

Kyzordz · 01/06/2013 09:05

Morning all, shitty night last night, far too much farting, wriggling and moaning. Oh well!

pr sorry you feel shitty :( hope you feel better soon

mini pig well done!

stunt hope you got some sleep lovely.

I tested e a bit and gave him breakfast at 8, so an hour after his bottle like you're meant to. Breakfast is his fave meal so thought I'd try that one first and then do lunch an hour after bottle too. He had 5 scoops of cereal instead of 4 and nommed and only gagged twice on some banana. Result!

we have lasagne for tea, can I puree that for e? Last time I did red sauce and baby pasta but might see how he is with it pureed if that's doable

what is everyone up to today?

Passmethecrisps · 01/06/2013 09:30

Goody morningen

That is defo sleeping through BP! Hoorah. Oh and the ironing can fuck off. You should have luxuriated on your arse enjoying the silence

I am sorry to hear about the weight loss eliza. Being able to put the tube in yourself will make such a difference to you but I 100% understand your apprehension.

Lots of Brew and Biscuit for those with shit nights - meals, izzy, stunt, luis and co. I can't remember if I saw chasing. VQ was up yes?

No Brew petite? Amazing! I am absolutely obsessed with ht drinks. I drink gallons of tea and coffee. I drink it when I should certainly have water instead. I wish I could throw some sunshine your way.

kyz I am amazed at what you have E eating! He is doing amazingly well. He sounds like he is eating like a pro!

Can I ask again how people are offering stuff like olives, raspberries, blueberries and the like?

ValiumQueen · 01/06/2013 09:34

Morning Smile

I got on the scales this morning. Have put on 2 stone since having J. Oops!

Feel fine about it actually. I am at the point where I am ready to address it, and this has given me the incentive to do something about it. It is just a number, and should lose very quickly as it went on so quickly. I am going to regain my youthful figure.

J woke at 5 with snot and hunger. Never a good combination, but he did sleep again until 7.45. DH got up with the girls. DD2 coughed all night but is fairly good this morning.

The sun is shining too. I will resist the temptation to put shorts on in public.

Clarella · 01/06/2013 09:50

oh stunt it sounds so hard at the moment Sad I really hope things improve soon.

Eliza sorry to hear that it's so hard to feel you're going backwards after so long. hope her weight picks up soon.

last night was rubbish - he woke hourly then did a 2 hour stint then hourly again. I feed him back to sleep (is that bad?!) though at one point he nodded off before I managed! I'm so glad of this bedside cot. I really think I have a perpetually rubbish sleeper Sad

does anyone else still have a rubbish sleeper who doesn't have reflux?

since he's begun sleeping on his side though and now it seems his reflux is lots better (must be the sphincter in our case rather than cmpi etc) he's quite happy in cot. I think he wiggles near me simply as I now feed him back to sleep. Hmm I'm sure reflux is better as popping him on a pillow doesn't work anymore and feeding is an awful lot better. when he chokes now on milk he just gets on with it rather than the hysterics we used to get. thanks for toodles pod recommendation det nice to see they're not that expensive!

BigPigLittlePig · 01/06/2013 09:51

Pass the ironing lucked out. I had my breakfast and got distracted looking at icecube trays. There really are a myriad of shapes. I'm not sure that F would appreciate these for instance, fun as it would be!

These would be good for those with marine biologist/boaty daddies though!

LuisGarcia · 01/06/2013 09:57

"does anyone else still have a rubbish sleeper who doesn't have reflux? "

Hi there

StuntNun · 01/06/2013 09:57

Quick update as I have to go study - nine days till my first exam and an emergency grade 3 trumpet exam to intensively coach DS1 for on Tuesday. DH got back from Sweden at 9.30 last night and did the night shift to save my sanity. So I was woken a few times but got seven hours sleep. Not enough to restore my equilibrium but hopefully enough to stave off the impending craziness. My mum is coming over from Manchester tomorrow so we'll have one more pair of hands on deck. She is an early riser so is quite happy to take J from 5 a.m. if he's awake early. She'll also help with wrangling DS1 and DS2, she even takes the dog for a walk! It's like a holiday for me when she's here.

BP ikea is the best place for ice cube trays as they are not too expensive and pretty too. It really does not matter what shape they are though as long as they are silicone for ease of extraction.

ChasingDaisy · 01/06/2013 10:00

Well done littlepig that is most definitely sleeping through! I have told O in hopes he will follow suit

Oh and I think myriad is my favourite word.

pass I was not posting last night but thanks for thinking of me Smile . Actually had a reasonable night. 7.30-2.30-5.15-6.15-7.30 so a 7 hour stretch Shock Grin

He ate porridge and mango for breakfast Smile. Going to try him with one of my homemade purees at lunch Confused

PetiteRaleuse · 01/06/2013 10:02

No hot drinks nope. I quite like hot ribena but can't get ribena over here. Don't drink tea, coffee or hot chocolate, and I hate mulled wine. A few weeks before due date we go to the maternity clinic to chat with the anaesthetist and then a nurse.

The nurse goes through various questions about the pregnancy, then talks about the stay at the clinic. Asks for food preferences, and also what drink we prefer in the morning. Both times I said juice, and she said ok, and which hot drink. Then lectured me about the importance of having a hot drink in the morning to get the digestive system going. She got quite cross.

LuisGarcia · 01/06/2013 10:04

yay stunt

PurplePidjin · 01/06/2013 10:07

I woke R when I threw up at 10:30 then he woke at 2:30, 4 & 5. I'm hiding at my mum's because so has it worse than I do Sad

No reflux here either afaik, or intolerances

BigPigLittlePig · 01/06/2013 10:17

Thanks pidj. Hope you feel better soon.

PetiteRaleuse · 01/06/2013 10:23

That's great stunt

i wish my mum could come over more often :(

Elizadoesdolittle · 01/06/2013 10:32

pr I couldn't function without my morning cuppa. Didn't realise it was actually good for me too!

Thanks for all the reassurance. We will get there, I know we will. She can't have the tube forever (although DH pointed out last night that technically she can, grrrrrr). I think I just got my hopes up that the end was in sight but realistically she's not ready for that to happen yet.

We've had a really lazy morning. Just finished breakfast and All still in our pj's. taking DD1 to her swimming lesson after lunch then my mum is coming to have the girls whilst I go to see green day. It's at the emirates so thank goodness it's dry. Should be fun. Hope you all have a good day.

MissMummy1 · 01/06/2013 10:37

Yay for helpful mum visits. I would be lost if my mum wasn't so close by (my main reason for wanting to stay on Scottish soil).

Great perspective on the weight thing vq. After my self indulgent body image whinge on here, I am looking at it in the same way. I mananged to lose 4lbs last week just by cutting out having something to eat with every cup of tea Shock Shock Shock . Is cake off the cards on Monday? (assuming you are able to come!)

Chasing Matilda also had blended Mango in her porridge this morning.

DP has admitted nicking the duvet was a selfish twatty thing to do. He did not accept taking MY car without asking if I needed it was unacceptable. He claims he has not slept well for a few weeks - cue mass rage and me snapping 'well by rights then I am entitled to be a prize arsehole as I havent slept for months'. He shut up about then.

And Matilda slept through. 7.30 - 6. Grin

TheDetective · 01/06/2013 11:11

Morning!

I have discovered a way out of night feeds. It's not for everyone... but, hey, what works right?! Let DP have a shag on the proviso he is keeping me awake later than I need to be, therefore he will agree to do the night feeds. I almost pushed it a bit further last night and said night feeds plus get up with him. Grin Grin Grin. What a man would do for a bit of leg over, eh?!

O was great last night. Thank fuck. He didn't go to bed til almost 9 - he fell asleep in the car at 6 for 20 minutes - amazing what 20 minutes sleep can do gah! He self settled last nightand didn't wake til just before 6am (I thought it was 6.30 but DP reckons it wasn't... Hmm) fed, and went back down easily til well after 8. He then played in his cot while I slept some more woke up slowly and we got up at 9.10. Excellent. I hope this gives others who have had shit sleep forever some light at the end of the tunnel. 10 days ago I was ready to walk out on the road and lie down so I could have a bit of sleep all be it, in a coffin or a hospital bed.

I suspect regression had a lot to do with it - but mostly I think it was the milk. He then got in to terrible habits and has had to be trained out of them. Switching rooms so there was nothing to disturb him really helped. Putting him back in his own room hasn't caused any problems.

He's not an amazing sleeper, but he's coming on in leaps and bounds now.

O just went down for a nap - sucking his thumb. Very cute little monkey! He is also in the moses basket rather than the pram. As I couldn't be arsed getting it out the car.

TheDetective · 01/06/2013 11:14

Yay for the sleepers, and boo to the crappy sleepers.

THIS IS A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT. NOVEMBER 2012 BABIES - YOU ARE NOW SIX, YES, SIX MONTHS OLD. PLEASE REFER TO THE RULES AND REGULATIONS THAT STIPULATE YOU SHOULD BE SLEEPING THE FUCK THROUGH. IF YOU HAVEN'T LOCATED THE BOOK CONTAINING THE SLEEP THE FUCK THROUGH RULES AND REGULATIONS YOU HAVE 24 HOURS TO DO SO BEFORE SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES OCCUR. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Grin.

kirrinIsland · 01/06/2013 11:19

Sorry everyone. I am really struggling to keep up at the moment. Work is going well but leaves little time for much else, I spend the rest of the week playing catch up. And i have to work mon-fri next week as I'm on a course - really not sure how that's going to go. I have only skim read the last few days.

stunt ((hugs)) Glad your Mum is coming down, it sounds like you could really do with the break.

MM I am Shock at your 'DP' sometimes - how do you not kill him?!

Eliza sorry to hear she's lost weight :( Hopefully a minor blip.

Good attitude to weight loss VQ I managed to lose about 5lbs in a week or so by stopping drinking Coke. I lasted 2 weeks and then told myself I could have it every now and then. I am now back to drinking it most days. I'm rubbish. I did notice that when I wasn't drinking it, I generally ate less sugary crap so I should give it up again but it is my only real vice. I am struggling with coming to terms with my mum tum, and it's getting worse not better :(

Congrats to all those sleeping through. commiserations to those that aren't. N is waking once for a feed between 8 and 6 which is great. DD1 is waking several times a night for no particular reason I can fathom, which is not so great.

TheDetective · 01/06/2013 11:23

I was lazy this morning, O had an organixs pot for breakfast. I looked at the blender, and just couldn't face it. Messy bastard thing it is!

Can you freeze porridge? Might do some of Stunts baked toast idea. Off to google freezing porridge. Grin

VQ It is no wonder you have gone for the yummy foods - I have done too. It's fucking hard with illnesses, fuckingcuntingreflux and bastard husbands who drive us mental. Let alone the sleep regression that lasts for 15 years or something not one for exaggerating nooooo. I put on 1st 10 in 9 weeks. I want it off in the same bloody time. Are you ready to lose it yet? Do you want to? I've never really wanted to til now, but I got to the point where I felt unfit. I've never felt like that before.

Does anyone else feel like their baby prefers other people to them? O hardly ever laughs at me, even though I try. He laughs if he so much looks at his dad. Very disheartening. Especially now I have decided he is old enough to be taught no. The whole time he is being nappy changed, or clothes change I am repeating no over and over. It is the only way to stop him kicking at me (my section scar now hurts as he has kicked it so much and so hard) and to stop him rolling all over the place. Boundaries are needed. But then I feel mean as he just looks at me as if to say 'but why are you stopping me having fun mummy'. :(

YellowWellies · 01/06/2013 11:24

I'll be bringing dairy and soy free cake for me Blush Blush Blush but I'm losing 2lb a week at present through no real effort by being dairy and soy free.... so I'm kinda trying to slow the weight loss down as I'm feeling a bit too thinly spread Sad hence lots of cake nomming. Am aware this is the only time in my life I'm likely to be eating cake to stop losing weight......

Stunt yey for your Mum - good luck over the next few weeks it sounds full on.

I've got DH home for a week before he starts his new job - am really looking forward to it. It's our wedding anniversary tomorrow so we're off to Blair Drummond safari park in honour of our first date (Cotswold wildlife park). The weather is gorgeous - brekkie in the garden then off to the garden centre.

MM it's great he can see after the event that he's being a twat but he needs to work on his impulse control so he can think before he acts Angry .

YellowWellies · 01/06/2013 11:26

Det am loving your public service announcement! Grin Grin Grin Grin

TheDetective · 01/06/2013 11:37

Do you think they might get it now?! Grin

I can shout louder if anyone needs it! Grin

Kyzordz · 01/06/2013 11:45

pass the raspberries were a hit in the mesh thing yesterday. Haven't given blueberries yet and I don't know if they'd work in the mesh thing. Not sure whether to try lunch at 12 so an hour after that last bottle. Whats the worst that could happen?

stunt glad your mum is able to help you out, that's brill
forgot what else I had to say!
