BP The only thing DP is obsessed about is his laptop, and his Xbox disks not getting scratched Hmm. I think I'd prefer garden and car. Grin

ChasingDaisy · 28/04/2013 19:00

wanna nap times here are pretty much as pig described. Two morning naps of 30-45 mins each and a longer nap in the afternoon of 2-3 hours. These naps happen after 90mins awake time. He sometimes has a teatime nap if he needs it. He has needed it the past few days and has slept better at night.

pass bet that feels weird! Make sure you enjoy it though Smile

Buggered back here too. It has always been weak due to issues with my vertebrae but pregnancy, birth, possibly epidural and a baby who needs rocking to sleep and them sleeps slumped on me have all made it a lot worse Sad. May have to see GP about it as I'm not sure how I'll cope when O gets much heavier.

Had a pretty tiring weekend even though I didnt do much more than make a mountain of purees. As much as I love O I would love just a little break from him to recharge my mummy batteries for the week ahead, but no. I have forgotten what it is like to feel rested.

He is still living here and things are kind of going back to normal against my better judgement . We had a bicker today and I got a bit scared even though he wasn't violent at all. O also has a habit of grabbing at my neck which means I have constant reminders of what happened.

O also loves to kick me in the fanjo as I rock him to sleep. He obviously doesn't feel as though he has done enough damage to that area already Hmm

BigPigLittlePig · 28/04/2013 19:04

chasing F is another fanjo kicker. Little buggers monkeys.

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 28/04/2013 19:08

I am so jealous of napping babies :( mine is well and truly broken. He won't nap unless we are out in car or with pram or in IKEA! and also doesn't sleep at night. He slept a total of 5.5hr last night in dribs and drabs! X

ChasingDaisy · 28/04/2013 19:10

Izzy that must be so difficult Sad. I moan about being sofa pinned during O's naps, but at least he is asleep and I can MN and watch daytime TV relax.

Luis we haven't heard from you in a while. Hope everything is well in Chez Garcia Smile

TheDetective · 28/04/2013 19:12

I really don't know how you do it Izzy and the other non sleeping baby owners!

BigPigLittlePig · 28/04/2013 19:16

My SIL today was having a bit of a moan about how hard it was to sleep when she had a cold for a week, until she found a drowsy cough medicine. One week. FIVE MONTHS PEOPLE and no signs of improving

ChasingDaisy · 28/04/2013 19:19

It is amazing what I would now consider a good nights sleep. When I was pregnant and had been made redundant I was a 10 hour a night girl. Now I just pray for two 3 hour blocks per night as I know this is what I need to function. Four hours is just bliss.

Passmethecrisps · 28/04/2013 19:26

Honesty, Izzy you are made of sterner stuff than I. Although what would any of do but just carry on? It must be getting very hard now. If you fancy a trip to Ikea to lull him to sleep just say the word!

P and DH were only gone for 30 minutes or so but it felt nice. It appears that P is currently a mummy's girl and has eyes only for me. It makes it hard for DH to look after her for very long as she gets a bit weh.

wanna the naps sound fine. P sleeps on average 13-14 hours in 24 with 12.5 of those being night time. Sorry izzy! Generally they go 30-45 minutes at about 9ish, 45 mins to an hour or so at about 12ish then 30-45 minutes at about 3.30ish. Very variable. Only hard and fast is no napping after 5, bedtime at 7 and getting up between 7-7:30.

She is a lady of routine and this pattern was her preference. I thank my lucky stars on a daily basis.

wannabedomesticgoddess · 28/04/2013 19:31

S chose her routine too. It could have been worse.

I do not know how you cope with the non sleeping. Even during the day with no time to just recharge knowing they are snoozing.

Passmethecrisps · 28/04/2013 19:32

And Yy chasing! At the weekend pre-baby I would not have dreamed of getting out of bed before 9 if I could possibly avoid it. 10 hours was a nice amount. Sadly, despite P being a snooze-queen I still sleep poorly. I am still following that pattern of sleeping fine until about 3ish then basically being awake every 45 mins or so. Mostly the sleep I get is cat-napping. I do know though that I am still getting more sleep than others so I am not complaining. I think it is just frustrating. I will get some Kalms this week I think and see if that makes any difference. At the moment the most effective thing is a very large glass of wine which is not really a long term solution.

Passmethecrisps · 28/04/2013 19:34

Exactly wanna. Just half an hour for a sit down and a cup of tea in peace can make such a difference.

TheDetective · 28/04/2013 19:35

Remember when we were all in the 4am club?

And we moaned?!

ChasingDaisy · 28/04/2013 19:39

I moaned about lack of sleep a lot when I was pregnant. Idiot.

Clarella · 28/04/2013 19:51

oh izzy I'm with you. I feel quite ill these days. we've started bed time earlier and earlier in an effort to get him to squeeze more sleep in. though a pillow and gavisgon is making a huge difference today. tightly rolled towels keeping him in place. thankfully he's still crap at rolling Grin . off to bed now fx he's better tonight.

BigPigLittlePig · 28/04/2013 19:52

Ah yes clarella - we have a permanent rolled towel down one side of Fs cot, which her back goes against. It's the only thing that keeps her propped onto her side. God knows what we'll do when she's mobile.

Clarella · 28/04/2013 19:53

hugs to you too pass. the cat napping is a killer cos we don't finish a full sleep cycle (1 and half hours)

i feel really refreshed after 3 hours sleep though can't remember last time that happened!

kirrinIsland · 28/04/2013 19:54

Grin mm

N has a morning nap and an afternoon nap - both about an hour, although she does occasionally do a random 2 or 3 hours just to keep me on my toes :)

YellowWellies · 28/04/2013 19:57

Hello all. Preparing for another night of sleep Russian roulette. 12 bad nights now (maybe one good one in there) so think it must be developmental. Must get blinds sorted so he can sleep in his own room and I can fuck off to the spare room downstairs Despite being a bit yawny we've had a lovely day - a pal from the island came over for her birthday brunch, as did my sis, then we went off to Perthshire looking at antique shops for a farmhouse table. No joy but a beautiful day to be out and about in the hills.

Passmethecrisps · 28/04/2013 19:58

Is that right clarella? That would make sense then. I spend a lot of time in bed but not much of it actually properly sleeping. DH leaves every morning saying "maybe you can get a wee snooze later" but it can take me well over an hour to drift off so not much chance of that.

Anyway. These things are all relative and our 'normal' changes.

I have terrible hair right now. Needs cut badly. And I am going grey. At 25. :(

No idea how to help though.

ChasingDaisy · 28/04/2013 20:35

Im 28 and going grey too Sad Have been for a few years now.

Blah, feeling very blue this evening for some reason. O just woke crying after 45 mins in bed which never happens. Hope it was just a one off and in not in for a shit night.

Pikz · 28/04/2013 20:36

Finally caught up on two days of posts!

Exhausted. Hope everyone is ok Thanks

Took LO to rugby club yesterday... Saw all the girls and so tempted for a comeback but won't. Most of the team I played with are now preggers or have babies!!

Today braved ikea for an antilop and the red wooden one for mum. LO been hilarious all day. He can now blow raspberries!

Had date night with DP last night. Was lovely to go out but getting in at midnight I hardly slept.

Sending sleepy dust to all.

Passmethecrisps · 28/04/2013 20:38

34 and going very grey. Hair is mostly dyed so it is hardish to see but I can tell that I have gone about 50% grey.

Thankfully the condition is still quite good. I noticed that my leg hair went very very dark and thick but seems to be going back to normal now.
