Have a good time fatima - I haven't been to see DH play hockey since before DD was born. Partly because it is such a faff, but also is dangerous for spectators (flying puck can hurt!). I do miss watching him though.

Both DC asleep in bed with me. Debating a snooze myself, although I will pay for it at bedtime. DD doesn't really nap anymore, so if I fall asleep and we all have a decent nap, she'll be a proper sod later. Hmmmm.

ValiumQueen · 20/04/2013 13:46

MM if it is an intolerance then you may find after a few days on formula things get worse. Do not look for things, but fore warned is fore armed. May also be best to stop solids for a week or two so if there is a problem, then you know it is the milk rather than something else.

ChasingDaisy · 20/04/2013 13:57

MM 30oz sounds about right. From discussions on here it seems as though our babies take anything between 20 - 40oz a day. O is much nearer the 20oz end of the scale.

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 20/04/2013 14:52

1hr 10mins til I'm child free!!

fruitpastilles · 20/04/2013 15:27

Luis I started a game with you earlier, no doubt you will thrash me Smile

S has been a dream today, it's amazing what a bit of sun can do, we have been playing in the garden, I don't think she has seen the sun before! We have her first party tomorrow, my friends little boys 3rd birthday, it's a swimming party, I haven't taken her swimming yet I'm bricking it.
Question - I bought her one of those wraps and some short thingys that go over her swimming nappy just for extra protection, does she still need a swimming costume aswell?

Kyzordz · 20/04/2013 16:12

30oz sounds fine mm :)

I also have changing bag envy!

Today is nice so far, lovely weather and we went into town to pick up e's milk. He hasn't slept much but is being good still so far anyway!

Kyzordz · 20/04/2013 17:24

Everyone else busy? I'm watching iron man 2, Eric is asleep finally, wish I was, though it's a good film!

Have a good time fatima :) forgot to say that before

ValiumQueen · 20/04/2013 17:39

So is it only me and pass with babies on Nutramigen (and detectives on LF) yw would be using it for sure.

StuntNun · 20/04/2013 17:54

J just downed an 8 oz bottle of EBM and is now bfing as if starving! Where does he fit it all in?

OP posts:
fruitpastilles · 20/04/2013 18:24

Just giving S her last bottle before bed then its chill out time for me. Dp is downstairs watching a load of shite rubbish so I'm gonna starfish on the bed and have the telly to myself. When did my Saturday nights become so bloody boring?

Jims · 20/04/2013 18:27

I confess i used vouchers from my credit card cashback to get my pacapod. We had the boots free one for ds1 as we were spending every spare penny doing up our house at the time. This was my treat to myself.

I do like the sun being out. It's been a long time coming.

BigPigLittlePig · 20/04/2013 18:33

fruit F just wore a swim nappy when I took her - two different public pools, both quite happy with no wrap/costume etc not sure they'd have been happy if she'd poonamied

Sorry to hear of babies abandoning boobies - hope the confusing world of ff becomes a bit easier soon for you, mm. I wouldn't have the first clue what to do, not a scooby. I mentioned this to dh, who said something along the lines of, don't worry about sterilising/cooling etc, never did it with A and she's fine Hmm I pointed out that he was lucky and that we wouldn't be adopting that approach with F my pfb

We bought a sunhat today. It is like a strawberry. If I had begun ovulating again I would have dropped an egg for certain at the side of F wearing it.

MissMummy1 · 20/04/2013 18:36

I couldnt justify buying a pacapod at full price. I paid £50 for it off ebay inc postage with the rest of my birthday money. It's new with tags and better last longer than my skip hop bag. The buckle on it keeps unclicking. I think I have weakened it by overloading it. Blush

I am feeling very domesticated just now! Have blitzed my kitchen (think steaming every square inch, cleaning cupboards, organizing jars and spices in alphabetical order ) while M snoozed then cooked a sweet potato and chicken curry for dp and I while the small one banged a wooden spoon on her bumbo tray. Used up all the sweet potatos and made some food cube purees for the freezer. Just need DP to get ashore so I can eat!!

I also managed to express a few ounces off a very sore full boob. The main reason for switching to formula asides from M's point black refusal to feed from me was my inability to express!! I think I will keep expressing a little each day and use it to make baby rice/porridge etc. She also took some from a sippy cup. Just until my supply fully dries up. Am I clutching at straws and being stupid here?!

fruitpastilles · 20/04/2013 18:43

Thanks BP I might not bother putting the wrap on her then either, it's a tiny bit big and I think it might rub her neck.

MM that curry sounds lovely, my tummy is rumbling now...... Think it'll be a quick and easy dinner tonight for us think child like as in super noodles and chips Grin

BigPigLittlePig · 20/04/2013 18:47

We had pidjs curry, nom nom. It's now dhs fave curry! We sat out in the sunshine in the garden to eat.

F has been so unsettled since her jabs, bloody reflux is playing up again, and she doesn't want to be put down. She at least had a good sleep on me this afternoon in front of Mary Poppins.

ChasingDaisy · 20/04/2013 18:48

I have a very sad baby today, he seems to be in a whole world of pain Sad. He has sore post - jab legs and I have just realised that he is also teething. Not sure how I missed the signs, but I thought he was just in pain from his jabs. He has a bright red cheek, enough dribble to sink a ship, hot feeling gums and when he bit his teether he screamed in pain and cried real tears Sad

Stupid question o'clock: O is very interested in food and watches us eat intently. He can also sit up well whilst supported slightly and can pick up things and put them in his mouth. He is 20.5 weeks and I am planning to start weaning with purees in a few weeks, but I really want to give him some food to nom on to see how he takes to it. Is cucumber ok? Do I take the skin off?

YellowWellies · 20/04/2013 19:24

VQ dairy intolerance goes hand in hand with Viking and slavic genes apparently, For us it definitely comes from the polish side of my family.

PurplePidjin · 20/04/2013 19:33

Considering my cooking consists of "chuck stuff in the pot and bubble till soft", how on earth did i get credited with a curry recipe?? Confused

YellowWellies · 20/04/2013 19:53

MM glad to hear Tilly's up chucks have stopped and that she's back to a human amount of sleep. I always thought there might be an intolerance - probably not dairy if she's handling formula (though it can take time) the other most common allergens are eggs, wheat, nuts and caffeine. I've yet to meet a baby who's night sleep consists of minutes rather than hours - where there isn't something like an intolerance bothering them.

Hope you're feeling better about FF. One thing I wanted to say yesterday - I think rather than saying that your milk supply was causing the fussiness - your DH needs to be giving you a damn big pat on the back. Of the 81% of pregnant women who want to EBF less than 1% make it to 6 months - of your age group - even less. YOU HAVE DONE AN AMAZING JOB xxxxxxxx

MaMaPo · 20/04/2013 19:56

Lovely to hear that the sun is doing everyone some good.

In like bplp, not the first idea about FFing. People mentioned 4-6 bottles being made up - how frequently do your ff babies feed? We can go anywhere between 8-12 feeds here.

Very tearful baby here today. The cry was just like the one she did after her jabs so I'm pretty sure it's pain. Teeth, most likely. Poor poppet has had some calpol and has just fallen asleep in my arms. She's so goddamn cute.

Oops - I wrote this post over an ago, and only pressing post now! No doubt you've all gabbed for 3 pages in the meantime.

Evilwater · 20/04/2013 20:05

Hello everyone! Such a good boy!
Such a good day Grin. Went to great nana's, he behaved wonderfully Grin, and showed off too. She loved him, and I'm glad he lights up her week.
Then we went to the woods, where he had his first feel of grass on his feet with the sunshine.Grin He had a snooze in the pram, then we went to the park, and watched the other climbing the equipment.Grin

He's went to bed, without all the fuss of yesterday.

But he's awake now Sad

Hallo.

Sorry to hear of poorly babies. Poorly is rubbish.

Is that right YW? That is amazing! What an astonishing figure.

My dad has a CMPI. Not that he knows it. I had a conversation with him that went like this:
Me: docs think P has a CMPI. They asked if anyone in the family has one.
Dad: oh! Nope. Noone.
Me: you do you fool!
Dad: no ah dinnae. Ah dinnae hae onae allergies. Ah just dinnae like it.
Me: why don't you like it?
Dad: oh! It gaes me terrible guts. Pain's terrible!

But not in intolerance! Oh no!

Passmethecrisps · 20/04/2013 20:11

mama p has 6 bottles between 7am and 10:30pm. So actually most of her bottles are taken within 12 hours of being made. She is now erring towards 5 bottles in a day.

And the swaddle weaning went really well - don't fear the loss of the swaddle mama

Evilwater · 20/04/2013 20:22

So many questions about bottles!
Erm... n had one at 8, 10:30 ish, 1, 3, 5 ish, last at bedtime. Sometimes a bottle at 11, and/or 2 ish.

I used to make then all up and pop then at the back of the fridge. I'd take them out when needed. When going out, Id pop them in the bag and warm then up in hot water.

I've always kept a carton of milk, in the car and one in the bag. Just incase!

Sorry to hear about the poorly/ naughty babies.

Am sitting peacefully. Boys asleep. Girls engrossed in Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

Heart in mouth moment when I popped out of the room leaving my ebay open on handbags (purely mm s fault since her pacapod ebay win made me want a to buy a new bag) and I came back to the girls going "William's on Pay Pal" £544 on fucking Radley bags he was spending. Shock I actually had to go to check out before I could find a cancel button. That will teach me. (The bags had a picture of a woman walking a dog in multi coloured leather not really my bag.)

Then when I checked my emails later I had one about my ebay invoice.......help. But it was only £4.90 for. My listing the other week.
