Issi If you are feeling dull, you could always drop the 'C bomb' when the children are out of ear shot Grin.

That will liven the day up, and no one could accuse you of being boring. Grin

After all, it is sweary cunting wednesday!

[Disclaimer: This may be very bad advice Grin ]

TheDetective · 17/04/2013 13:34

Anyone else still festering in PJ's? I don't think mine can be referred to as nightwear anymore!

Kyzordz · 17/04/2013 13:39

I watched the funeral. Sorry but I just wanted to see if anything would go wrong. The cat howled throughout all the hymns. :o

Pig my cold is a little better today thanks, just a bit sore round the back tooth /ear area.

Spent the last hour chopping veg and setting off ratatouille for later on today and the rest of the week . Am now sat on the terrace in the sun enjoying the silence while the children nap. DD1 will be up soon wanting to hoover. I'm about to tuck into a nice big bowl of ice cream.

PetiteRaleuse · 17/04/2013 13:43

Detective careful if you promise them a daily blow by blow account of your fanjo and arse they might want to call you every day :)

I never stay in my pjs during the day. I find that if I do I don't do anything. I do little enough as it is.

ValiumQueen · 17/04/2013 13:46

Still in fucking pjs. Not planning on going out today.

A question for reflux mummies...

J has been quite unsettled with tummy pains this morning. I swapped from Gaviscon to carobel 24 hours ago. I am wondering if I need to swap back or if I need to get him on ranitadine too. He is seeking out boob, coughing, sore tummy, windy, grumpy as fuck, not eating so much from bottle..... Afraid of Gaviscon as he is pooing well again and I do not want to change that, although he was still on Gaviscon when poo was ok again. DH does not want him on meds unless he needs them. I feel that the CMPI has been addressed but not the reflux. Dietician has not yet called, so I will call her tomorrow before baby clinic if I have not heard back. And I am wondering if I should stop bf, as this may be making things worse. On a good day he will only feed in night, but if unhappy he needs feeding to settle at sleeps, so vicious circle?

TheDetective · 17/04/2013 13:55

Hmmm. I would possibly think that you may need to give the carobel another day or two, I suppose it takes time to adjust. Obviously if he is becoming more distressed, I would stop it.

I would also stop the BF if you are sure that is causing him problems. I wonder if there is a product out there that lets him suck without getting the milk?! No. I aassume not!

If he needs feeding to sleep, will he do that with a bottle? O only feeds to sleep with a bottle at night, so day time naps are of the jiggle and rock variety here. All the sodding time.

I think the ranitidine would help.

MaMaPo · 17/04/2013 13:56

I'm here too. Baby C having a fussy day - she woke from her nap, had a cuddle and then I put her on the playmat. Played for 30 seconds and then burst into proper sobbing tears. Has happened a few times now. I guess that puts paid o the idea of doing some ironing Grin

This little girl needs to realise that she can't suck my nipple and her finger at the same time.

TheDetective · 17/04/2013 14:00

PR I am positively wetting myself not exactly hard these days at the thought of them ringing me every day. I would come up with a new description every day. And I would call it my cunt. Every single time.

Today MrsManager, my cunt appears to have taken a life of it's own. Either that or I have swallowed a whole person, who is now enjoying ramming their foot so far up my cunt that I can feel it rattling in my brain. My shit has turned the consistency of sludge because the pain gives me tummy cramps, and oh, wait a minute, there is something hanging outside of my cunt... oh it's just my pelvic floor flapping about the breeze.

If you want I'll stick a finger up my cunt and have a little squidge about and see if I can stick my finger through the hole if you like.

Oh. I'd have so much cunting fun!

TheDetective · 17/04/2013 14:08

I've took a lot of funny pictures of O today. He's a funny bugger!

We've had a very musical day... lots of singing, dancing, and a one man band operating!

horseylady · 17/04/2013 14:09

\vq sorry just jumping in. Does he have a time when the reflux is worse? I don't give ds the full dose of gaviscon. He has a dual sachet with his morning feed and 11am feed then one sachet at 2.30 and depending on the amount bought back either 1 or nothing at 6.30 and he has nothing at 10pm. This has made him not constipated. I find giving him the full dose first and second feeds really helps. He used to pretty much bring up all the morning feed. Now hardly any. I've also just started him on solids. But def need the gaviscon. I do try to reduce the amount he has frequently but the vom soon increases. He has no other meds.

No pjs here. Always up and dressed. Generally both of us by 8am!!

PetiteRaleuse · 17/04/2013 14:11

Detective I shouldn't laugh but that was funny :o

TheDetective · 17/04/2013 14:13

Grin I think I will have to record them if they ring me every day. Wonder who cracks first huh?!

PetiteRaleuse · 17/04/2013 14:18

Was that a deliberate pun?

Kyzordz · 17/04/2013 14:21

I think you'll have alot of fun with that fucker det!!!

vq hope he settles on the carobel. Don't know enough to advise you but hope he's ok soon!

E had baby porridge for breakfast this morning. He wasn't as keen on it as rusk but he ate almost all of it, I tried to do rusk amount so it was the same kind of amount. Taking the fact he ate it as a good sign?

Thanks for the feeding advice, I will try baby rice mixed with the veg tonight and see what happens. Am I still to be giving the same thing for 3 days? I intended to if I needed to, though wondered if a cube of apple or pear purée or some banana might go down well in the baby porridge for breakfast?

Oh what else. Fuckballs. I forgot and I did have quite a bit to say!

TheDetective · 17/04/2013 14:21

It is now Grin.

I'm gonna make your mac n cheese tonight PR!

ValiumQueen · 17/04/2013 14:21

Thank you horsey no real pattern to it. Vomiting has never been a big problem either.

I am in two minds about stopping the bf - wanting to draw a line, wanting him to be pain free, but also wanting to give him a bit of antibody protection of possible, and also worrying about how the fuck I would settle him if I could not bf him.

horseylady · 17/04/2013 14:22

detective I've just read your work issues. Our trust no longer pays the top up for unsociable working. That has been in place for about 18months. Some departments have to call that number. You speak to someone. That someone decides whether or not you are fit to work. We currently do not call that person. My understanding is if you do call the person they decide on daily calls or whatever. This is superseded if you have been signed off by your gp. Though you may have to be assessed by occupational health. They should find you something suitable?!!My department has dismissed someone for sickness. Several are on verbal/written warnings because of sickness. In our trust you have two episodes a year or 10 consecutive days. After this you are investigated.

PetiteRaleuse · 17/04/2013 14:23

Are you making it with some lovely Swiss cheese?

I was going to make it tonight but it is too hot outside and I am out of bacon.

And before you all go Envy the forecast for the next week starting tomorrow is shit. 12 degrees. Clouds. Bollocks.

horseylady · 17/04/2013 14:28

vq i don't think you offer them much now I terms of protection. Breast feeding is most important during the first 8-12 weeks while they build up there immunity. You offer them most protection to their bellies now, but adding formula/food again reduces the amount they get. But they do get something. You sound to me like you want to stop, but I understand why you don't. Only you can make that decision. He will learn to settle in another way other than your breast. He's 6 months next week , maybe get to then? You've done amazing.

Gaviscon acts as a thickener. It stops most stuff coming up!!!

Hugs you sound broken xx

horseylady · 17/04/2013 14:30

Top up obviously not paid of sick!!! It's quite serious tbh at our trust!!

YellowWellies · 17/04/2013 14:36

VQ yesterdays accidental forgetting of a dose of meds taught us that in this house we need both diet modifications and meds to make a happy bear. He was proper whiny and crabby - which is what made me remember the missed dose. I'd be inclined to give the meds a couple of days to work and then look at diet. Either cut out BF or dairy from your diet as he's still being exposed and if sensitive enough to detect it in breast milk he's likely feeling a bit crap. Our doc compared the symptoms to how you feel with food poisoning - stomach cramps, spasms etc so he might struggle to be his normal happy self with that going on. I hope he picks up quickly whatever you decide. xxx

Pikz · 17/04/2013 14:37

I'm here but as fast as I'm reading your posting and I've forgotten everything!

So I shall Grin at detective, say sorry for all your shite nights and give VQ a big hug as horsey said you sound broken Thanks

Oh and hiya horsey!

Kyzordz · 17/04/2013 15:00

I'm the same pikz I forget it all by the time I can post!!
